What a lovely place to stay. We were there for two nights. Wish it could’ve been longer. We were in the small twin bedded room, and although it was small it was beautifully furnished. The weather was very warm, but there was a great fan to combat the heat. Matt checked us in and was very helpful, and Gaby, our waitress at breakfast, was really lovely. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had, & we’ve stayed in some pretty swanky places!!

Room Tip: No parking, but it’s on a busy junction and it’s a very old inn, so nothing they can do about...

What a charming beautiful old pub lovingly restored. It was our first visit here & we will definitely be back. The best Sunday roast I have had in years. Gorgeous, tender tasty lamb, generous portions with all the trimmings. We started with a delicious celeriac soup. The mushroom wellington was a tasty vegge option. Couldn’t fault the food, service or the venue. So much character and charm. They even had divine Chapel Down Kentish white wine at a reasonable price. What a find. Bravo!

The Powell is one of the best places in Thanet for a roast. We have eaten a roast there 3 times now and every time has been perfect. Your roast swims in a sea of gravy and you get a lovely jug without having to ask. I always ask for extra Yorkshire puddings. Staff are friendly and great service with children

Nice room but the place is not worth the money: no housekeeping, breakfast time just from 9-10 am, there is no lounge area or a nice place to relax. Ok for a overnight stay but too expensive for that.

Myself and my wife went for a Friday Saturday and Sunday night we have been before and were not disappointed the staff are lovely and nothing was to much trouble. The room was furnished to a very high standard the bed was very comfortable. We had Sunday lunch and it was excellent the Yorkshire puddings are gigantic and the Powell marathon bar dessert was the star of the weekend. We have already booked to go back.
