We did a weeks B&B option at this hotel We had a lovely stay and made many friends here The staff were all very helpful and went out of there way to iron out any issues Our only issue was that we paid for an adult’s only hotel with Jet2 which you pay extra for and we arrived to find that the hotel has two other foreign tour operators who they accepted children from There are no facilities for the children at the hotel so they congregated around the pool area with pushchairs so this was noisy When we approached the rep from Jet2 she said that it was the hotel that made the decision to accept the children to boost capacity due to empty rooms Sad as it’s a beautiful place and would have been a great choice Hopefully they will sort this out as we would love to return if it’s totally adults only hotel Beautiful setting but be careful regarding the room views we chose a garden view room which turned out to be a car park area!!

The Aquamare isn't in Molyvos. Its 8 euro in a taxi, hotel has a shuttle from 10.30 a.m. It is remote, only 1 restaurant within walking distance,no taverna,s , bars or shops. Public areas are modernised, reception, restaurant and pool area. Room was small, adequate hanging space but only 3 very small drawers and not enough storage.Bed was very firm.Balcony small.Bathroom quite dated and in need of refurbishment.Shower worked well but flooded bathroom due to inadequate shower screen.Wall to corridors very thin, noise from people returning and banging doors.Balcoby had a 4 litre container on it to collect water from air con !!.If we forgot to empty it every day the balont was soaking.Mirror in bedroom and bathroom were dirty on arrival and same when we left. All inclusive food was reasonable.Nicely presented and always something to choose from. The drinks package wasn't so good, only 1 beer which wasn't very good, water was from the tap unless you bought bottled water. Water dispenser in restaurant but it was always warm. Pool area was nice, nice loungers but not always enough, towels go down early. Pool temperature was nice. Beach across road,no sunbeds but bean bag style seats, you couldn't lie on them and only comfy for a short while. Hotel was 95 0/0 Dutch guests. Pool area noisy, lots of kids and from about midday lots of Greeks came in to use the pool,on our last day we counted 15 greek children in the pool,no adult supervision,no relaxing for guests that have paid for this facility. The staff were nice, especially Maria at the pool bar. Wouldn't return, bad location, uncomfortable bed, lots of noise and not the 4 star, adults only that we booked.

2 weeks of perfect relaxation. The hotel has recently been renovated and done to a very high standard, Bedrooms are modern in decor and the cleanliness is outstanding. Rooms are cleaned daily by the most pleasant housekeeping staff. Beds are soooo comfy. One of the best I’ve ever slept in on Holiday. Tea/coffee making facilities with a small fridge are a real added extra. The food, always plenty of choice and I’m sure even the fussiest of eaters could find something. There’s always snacks in between service for those that like a snack. Drinks are plentiful. There’s house cocktails included in the AI option. And I never saw a measure jigger the whole time I was there. The sky bar, no it’s not included in the AI, but worth a visit for a cocktail to watch the sunset. Try the signature Aquamare, the most refreshing drink to chill with. The beach bar, Efthalou is a favourite with the locals, that tells you everything, the beach bar plays chill out music throughout the day and service for drinks and food whilst laid in the sun on the ‘beanbag’ loungers of ensure you have the most relaxed day at the beach. We ordered food from the beach bar, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Pool days, we never had a problem with sun lounger availability. The pool is a saltwater pool making for a refreshing dip. Activities include aqua aerobics, yoga, tennis. I took advantage of the massage service, One of the best I’ve ever had. I went back in my 2nd week. Location of the hotel is out of town, but accessible by the hotel shuttle bus running at various times during the day and there’s always the local service bus if you fancy an adventure further afield to Petra or Anaxos. It’s also worth having a walk from the hotel to the newly opened Efthalou Kitchen or along the coast line to sunset beach restaurant. All the staff are so friendly and amazing, they ensure you’re having a great time and nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be returning. Caroline and Jamie xx

Just spent 2 glorious weeks in the beautifully renovated Aquamare. Beach on the doorstep with comfy sun beds, crystal clear sea & lovely beach bar. The hotel is kept spotless, rooms are cleaned daily including fresh towels and the beds are the most comfortable we have had in any Greek hotel. Although there’s not a massive selection of food choice what there is was always tasty & authentic. Snacks between meals morning, afternoon & evening you’ll not go hungry! Minibus service to town & castle & local bus stop just outside the hotel to Petra & anaxos Thank you to all the staff who were all super friendly, attentive & so hard working making our holiday one of the best! We will definitely be back. Lisa & Steve xx

First trip to Lesvos after visiting a number of other Greek locations and as usual, this one doesn’t disappoint. A lovely, scenic island with stunning coastline and weather to match. The Aegean Sea is cool and clear, although if you are after sandy beaches and shoreline, you’ll have to forego on this occasion. Having read the 1-star review by “Julie S” which contained the line “oh we aren’t complainers,” this is obviously untruthful. I can imagine she moans about everything she comes into contact with in her life, and has clearly got expectations that are insurmountable wherever she goes. Ignore that review completely - you’ll have a lovely time here with the right mindset. The hotel is in a quaint and beautiful location. There is mainly nothing to do here without a taxi or minibus ride, which is great for an “escape everything” holiday. Rooms The rooms are refurbished to a modern standard with good air conditioning. USB charging is supplied on the bedside light fittings, in case you miss it! They aren’t particularly full of facilities but you have everything you need. Beds are super-comfortable and let’s face it, you aren’t holidaying in your room anyway. Hairdryers are supplied also in the bathrooms. Maid service is daily and rooms are cleaned to a high standard. Food and Drink We did the AI option and the food is beautifully presented with a good change of choice daily. Range of options for fussy eaters and those afflicted with made-up mental health conditions such as “vegan.” Drinks machines for use at all times for juice and coffee, and check out the ice cream daily at the pool bar 16:00-18:00. Baklava is awesome. Didn’t try the Sky Bar or Beach Bar as not included in AI but you can pay separately. There were a few flies but it’s a hot country and you are gonna just have to deal with it. Julie S wants all the windows and doors closed, and everyone to sweat in the heat. Okay……… We stuck to beer most of the week, which was cool and refreshing local brew. Premium drinks with well-known brands you have to pay for, which is going to be the case with a 4-star AI hotel. They have to make money somehow! Pool Comfortable pool area and salt water pool which is lovely and great for the skin. Sun beds have thick mattress-type cushions so able to relax. Pool area is a real sun trap and not all sets of beds have umbrellas. There are an abundance of selfish guests that swarm down in the middle of the night like vampires to reserve sun-beds, then aren’t seen until mid-afternoon, if at all. The hotel did put up a notice at the bar to this effect, stating they would remove unused bed towels after 30 minutes and I did see them doing this. Massive kudos to them for doing so. Ambient music plays by the pool from 10am, which is sometimes a bit loud but OK. Overall pool experience is very good. Wildlife I love cats. And foxes. If you don’t - well you might have to learn to. There’s around 7 semi-domesticated cats that the hotel team look after, and a cool fox that visits in the evening. The cats are mainly friendly and do hang around wanting food, as cats do but they also ask you not to feed them, as they get fed by the staff at a set-time. They scrap a bit but sleep a lot but generally are not intrusive. The island appears to have a lot of rogue cats so you’ll see them everywhere, which is cool! Things to do Relaxation is key here, so there’s not a lot to do without a bit of effort. We walked to the now-closed hot springs up the road. A very sad but also pretty location that needs some sort of EU-rescue grant. More cats here and take some water to leave them. It appears to be semi-maintained by locals who keep it swept and the cats fed so they ask for help in doing that. Molyvos is a beautiful town, well worth an evening jaunt on the free hotel shuttle. Recommend walking down to the harbour for dinner. It really comes alive at night and loads of the shops open, and the bars too. Warning - steep hills and cobbles so be fit! Staff 5 star service to ALL the staff here. They work hard to make your holiday and always with a smile. The Reception Team, Maria who works at the pool bar, and the blonde lady who starts at 4pm for the evening shift, (sorry didn’t get your name!) deserve special mentions. That said, everyone else strives to deliver a great environment and holiday experience. Loved them all. What could be improved? I’ve experienced many different countries and cultures, having travelled extensively. Expectations are normally set by an understanding in advance. Too many Brits go abroad expecting far too much - like Julie S. That said, I think some small improvements would help define this hotel even further. Clearly a lot of money has been spent on refurbishing the place, and it’s lovely. I think opening up the beach bar to AI guests would help drive those guests to the beach, and therefore relieve pressure on the pool area, which some days was really busy depending on trips etc. The Sky Bar seems relatively underused and therefore staffed at a cost, which could be mitigated by opening up the area to AI guests to say experience it once during their stay. Finally the use of plastic disposable cups for the pool seems a false economy and they are small. The hotel does have plastic tumblers but in limited quantities. I think they should dispense with the disposables and go all-hard plastic. I suspect they maybe don’t have the washing facilities at the moment to cope with the throughput that’s needed. These improvements are relatively minor and just ideas however none of it detracts from our fantastic week here and this amazing hotel. Thanks to all the team for a wonderful stay. 5 star experience at a 4 star hotel. Deffo on the “going back to” list ❤️

This place is so awful we want to go home. Its not worth coming here. Its only our second night of two weeks and all we want is to get out of here and go home. If you want a nice drink, go get your own from the supper Market. Or you can pay seven euros for a dry martini. And if you like a gin and tonic, the tonic will cost you 4 euros. If you want a lime and soda its 4 euros. You have to pay for a brandy so forget a brandy coffee. The staff change the rules to suit them because they are so scared of loosing there jobs to suit the the management's instringent rules. If you don't get up at the crack of dawn, you can't get a lounger. Because people claim the loungers at six in the morning. There are so many flies in the restaurant on the food because they have the windows and doors open the flies are all over your food even before you get plate to put food on. And while you're eating, flies are buzzing on and off your food as you eat. Soooo anoying!! No point in complaining, they don't listen and then when we did complain, this big seven foot security intimidating fella arrived to sort us sixty odd year old out. Oh! Just to let you know, we are not the usual complainers, when we arrived on day one, some guests we go chatting to felt that this hotel wasn't all it seemed..... Lots of people said the same, the drinks were an unfair measure ( 20ml ) when in fact our holiday rep at jet 2 said we were entitled to a ( 60 mil measure which is what the Greeks serve. But still we got 20ml measures. We asked for two gins? It came out of a gin bottle, but in actual fact it was ouzo. When we challenged the bar staff? She said no it's gin. When our jet 2 rep came , she investigated the gin bottle to discover it was ouzo. So they are filling the bottles with there own brands. Make of it what you want but you sure won't feel like your getting your moneys worth at the aqua mere. Oh? And be careful when the greek night entertainment is on, you may get set on fire as we nearly did. Shock horror!

This was our first trip to Lesvos and stayed at the beautifully renovated hotel Aquamare Molyvos. The hotel has plenty of nice features, clean, comfortable, modern rooms and social spaces, great pool and sunbeds. Its location (Eftalou), although remote, had a regular courtesy bus into Molyvos. Unfortunately the drop-off point was on the edge of town which made for a long walk. We took advantage of the AI option. The food was very good, tasty and plentiful. The AI drinks were local and very poor quality with very little alcohol, if any at all!! The beautiful Sky Bar and Beach Bar are only accessible to paying customers and not included in the AI package, which is ridiculous in an AI hotel. We booked a pool view double room and our initial room allocation was a basement room with wall view. On our first complaint to reception we was told it was a pool view room and there was no other rooms available. On our second complaint, after refusing to stay in the room, another room was allocated on the ground floor with a better view. Most of the staff were obviously new to their jobs, some still being trained, but were always friendly, courteous and helpful. The evening entertainment, when scheduled, was very basic. The Greek dancers were good and included guests in the evening. Movie night was disgraceful showing an inappropriate movie with violent content. Karaoke night eventually got going but with no help from the entertainment manager. Latin night was just a music track played at the bar!! There was no evening weekend entertainment, a DJ played at the beach bar from 3pm on Saturday. With some tweaks this hotel could be amazing.

I recently stayed at the newly updated hotel the aqua mare, and had a mixed experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, the hotel was beautifully renovated and the saltwater pool was a pleasant feature. However I was disappointed to find it was advertised as adults only but had children present during my stay. This made it challenging to fully enjoy the serene ambience me and my partner had hoped for. Additionally the food at the hotel was mediocre. Despite the setbacks, the lovely staff and updated facilities still made for a decent stay.
