We have been served a perfect Roastbeef followed by a delicious vegan chocolate & salted caramel cheese cake in a quality rarely tasted elsewhere. We will always be happy to come back to Hawkins Arms!

My friends and I had dinner to Hawkins Arms and we really enjoyed our time there. Friendly Staff, clean and cosy place, delicious food. This was exactly what we were looking for. We liked it so much that we had some takeaway dinner for the day after!

Booked with one other couple, very small double room. Not even room for a chair, tiny wash basin, shared toilet. Was advised after checking in that the restaurant and bar would be closed for two of the four night stay. No assistance to obtain alternative dining arrangements. Very disappointing

Had a lovely 4 day stay, last minute booking so had the room with separate bathroom but didn’t mind, the room was lovely and clean as was the bathroom. We had a lovely breakfast always asked what we would like & very friendly staff. We ate every night & cant fault any of the food on the menu. Was made to feel very welcome and would definitely go back in the future .😊

The hosts were friendly and helpful, We stayed in the family suite, it was a great room for stay with kids. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and family room had 2 ensuite baths. The food at the restaurant was delicious and we had dinner on all the days we stayed, fresh ingredients and great tasting. The location is very close to A30 and most of the places in Cornwall are short drive away. I would definitely recommend this place.

We were looking for a good value small hotel in a central Cornish location for a short weekend break for us and our two adult children. the Hawkins Arms absolutely fitted the bill. Situated on the main street in Zelah just off the A30, it gave easy access to Newquay to the north and Falmouth and Truro to the south. We were warmly greeted by the staff and made to feel very much at home. Our little suite of two bedrooms with their own showers and a shared bathroom worked really well for us. The rooms had a sense of history with solid soundproofed walls which in turn did mean the Wi-Fi struggled with connectivity, but this was an inconvenience rather than a significant concern. We all slept well in our comfortable beds. Breakfast was good with a choice, albeit limited, of cereals, fruit and hot food. Three of us are vegan and our hosts did all they could to accommodate our preferences, even without our having given prior notice. At the other end of the day, there is a popular restaurant with a good locally sourced menu, though we didn’t get the chance to try it. We were surprised to find the bar closed when we returned at 10:15pm after a long day out, but with only one other party staying that night we couldn’t blame the staff for wanting to lock up early. Overall a friendly family hotel in a convenient quiet central location. Highly recommended.…

As always the atmosphere was super friendly and informal and the food couldn't be better. Roast Sunday lunch was top class and those that chose from the Specials board were full of praise for their choice. Outstanding place and food!

Just to finish off our Dorset visit, we rounded off our eating out close to home before the work procedure strarted. A family roast for ten us was just the ticket.Firstly love the new Dining room, recently completed. Meal was plated either normal or small. Portions were plentiful,as were desserts. Friendly staff and efficient service. This venue has certainly gone up in standards in all respects to be fair it was always fine before ,however the revamped, in fact new addition as made all the difference as stated we found the food good a couple of years ago.We have book again the same amount for two weeks time. Price is about normal very happy.

Wow, wow, wow. I don’t normally review but the food here is amazing. Fresh ingredients sourced locally, very well cooked and huge portions! Best mussels that I have had in a long time, hake in saffron made my daughter eyes light up, really nice Chucky chips, gooseberry and toffee tart was different but lovely. Needs to replace their table mats.
