From the moment of our arrival we were met with the warmest of welcomes.
Tasia, Chris and Georgia make every effort (and succeed) to make sure everything is in place for you to fully relax in this wonderful little oasis. Their hospitality is second to none. Genuinely friendly, polite and courteous people, nothing was ever too much trouble.
The whole site is always kept immaculately clean and tidy. Rooms are cleaned daily, with fresh bed linen and towels supplied very regularly. (the cleaning ladies were also great, going about their business efficiently and almost unnoticed) The little poolside bar was always attended for refreshments needed and the lush garden areas are very well tended to.
Situated far enough from the main road to be quiet but close enough to nip to the supermarket for essentials make it an ideal location. The seashore is also only a couple of hundred yards away from the apartments themselves, but be advised that the small beaches are pebbles not sand and watershoes are recommended if you intend to venture into the warm, shallow crystal clear sea. Several good restaurants were all within a 10 - 15 minute walk away, all serving great food at very reasonable prices. Convenient bus stops are also nearby to take a short ride into Nydri or Lefkada town if you want something a little livelier on an evening.

In all, an exceptional place run by exceptional people. it was an absolute pleasure to stay here. We can't thank you enough for making our time with you truly enjoyable.

Well its lovely to be back in Greece ,how we missed the heat as you get of the plane to putting toilet paper in the bin, we stayed a week at the Alkyon apartments in Lygia on the island of Lefkada what a welcome we had the apartments were great we had a room overlooking the pool, Stasia (the woman never stops )the owner knows how to look after her quests wether giving you any info on where to go or hiring car or scooter while plying you with titbits of local cake or pie. Lygia is quite quiet and relaxing the beach which is pebble is a stroll away. the village beach with sunbeds which are free as long as you buy a drink is 20 minutes stroll past several restaurants along the front. The pool area and gardens are very clean and pretty and many a day was spent lazing on the sunbeds . There is a supermarket just up the road for all your needs ( beware there are no ATMS in Lygia you have to go into town ) Lefka town is 10 minutes on the bus and is well worth the visit for the marina and the square especially in the evening. If your going for 2 weeks i would hire a car and see more of the island. A lovely relaxing break with a wonderful host and great apartments. 2 beers please Stasia.

Another excellent stay at Tassia's place. Despite the Covid situation, the hotel allows you to spend fantastic holidays in full freedom but including all health measures. In the middle of all facilities, beaches and restaurants on seaside it stays the perfect family location. Thanks again Alkyon and Tassia for all! 🇬🇷🧿

All recommendations for the best hotel and the best team, amazing Thassia, Chris and Georgia. They are so polite, caring and helpful and made us feel like we were at home. They put energy and love into every detail in the hotel.
Heartwarming welcome, valuable suggestions about the beaches and restaurants, homemade jam and cake, smiling and warm faces, very comfortable and clean apartment, beautiful garden with swimming pool, free bicycles and possibility to rent a scooter or a car, mosquito nets on a balcony, apartment cleaned every day by very friendly staff, the sheets and towels were changed every 2 days, market, bakery and restaurants are close by, just as the beach/sea front…
We felt carefree and happy every day at Alkyon hotel and if we decide to visit Lefkada again, we know withaut a doubt where we will stay 😊
Danilo, Nina and Danijela

What fabulous accommodation! As a solo traveller, I take care in selecting places I hope are small & friendly - the Alkyon is certainly that. On arrival I was greeted by the lovely owner with light refreshments, who then showed me to my room. In over 30 years of visiting Greece, this is the best accommodation I’ve had, being very spacious with a king size bed, a wonderful modern wet room with walk in shower. The property is built & maintained to a very high standard with attention to detail. Everyone works incredibly hard to keep the place immaculate. The grounds are quite stunning with an array of colourful flowers & shrubs., set round a beautiful swimming pool. The Alkyon is on a quiet lane mid way between the main road & the beach. If you are looking for sports bars serving fried breakfast, karaoke etc, Ligia is not for you. It is a proper village, where you rub shoulders with the locals in the excellent supermarket at the top of the lane. There are not many tavernas in the village, but they offer a variety of dishes, some of which were new to me & if you like fish you will not be disappointed. The ones located on the sea front are especially appealing with stunning views over to the mainland. What Ligia lacks in the way of a sandy beach is compensated by a lovely nature reserve where you can get way from it all. Would I come here again - you bet!

Beautiful studios with well equipped kitchen. The pool is amazing and very safe for children. Very quiet and tranquil location. Rooms were spotless and had clean towels every other day. The owner is lovely, very discreet but at the same time very accommodating. There are bicycles you can borrow for free and cycle along a beach promenade with tavernas.

We arrived to Pumpkin Pie and we left to it as well. Tasia is such a wonderful host and the apartments are so much better than many of those we have visited in Greece over a good 27 years. So many nice touches, attention to detail and beautifully decorated. Spotlessly clean and free air con included as well as mozzie nets everywhere (more of that later). Pads on the feet of the furniture so that you don’t disturb the people below, fresh flowers every day, a welcome beer in the fridge along with bread ham and cheese for the sandwich toaster provided plus milk, butter and water, what’s not to like!
The pool is fab and the area kept very clean as is the pool itself. Lots of very upmarket sunbeds and lovely shaded spots in the garden to enjoy a quiet read and a cool drink (which always comes with nuts, crisps or both). Tasia (short for Anastasia) never stops working and is always on hand if needed. Her brother Christoph helps with the bar in the early evening and is a lovely friendly guy. Georgia was also on hand with a friendly smile.
The supermarket at the top of the road is well equipped and a very short walk, which is useful as you will need to stock up on drinks and nibbles for the evening as the bar shuts by 9.00 pm which is mainly to avoid noise disturbances for other guests. We had 2 balconies that were ideal for a drink on our return from eating and it was lovely and peaceful both day and night. The place is pretty small and attracts guests from all over the world. We shared the place with, Danish, Norwegian, Israelis, Germans and Swiss as well a few fellow Brits.
The main restaurants are pretty nearby. One inland is To Koutoki which we ate at twice. It does get very busy but it is a cheap place to eat with reasonable food. We ate mostly on the beautiful sea front. Taverna Seven Islands was our favourite although Giannis was also good. There aren’t that many places to eat if you’re not a bit fish eater and in truth the choices are limited with hardly any “traditional “ Greek dishes on offer, and very few offering any kind of sauce on the meat which can be dry having been grilled mostly. Local wine was excellent though and reasonably priced. We averaged around 50 Euros a meal with wine.
The beach itself looks rather unwelcoming but there are a few tatty sunbeds available free of charge and the sea is so lovely to swim in or just float and drift.
All in all we loved the apartments, the resort is perhaps slightly disappointing as are the eating options compared to many that we have visited on other islands, but the people are special, particularly Tasia and we do hope to return in the future for more Pumpkin pie!

What a delightful find. We were warmly met by Tasia with a refreshing drink & cake prior to being shown to our apartment. This is the best equipped apartment we have stayed at in all of our Greek travels. There was a small welcome basket with tea & coffee and sandwiches in the fridge. There was washing-up liquid and a tea towel. Everything was clean and tidy in the apartment and outside around the pool. The pool area was peaceful. The owners have local knowledge and were more than happy to help should you want something. They hire cars, scooter and bikes but will also advise on local bus times. If you want somewhere tranquil to stay then this is the place. If you fancy something livier you can head off in either direction. Thanks for making our stay a good one.

The Alkyon is in a quiet lane leading down to the see (about 100m) one way and the Lefkada road in the other. The appartments are clean and confortable with a lovely swimming pool and gardens with plenty of room to relax. 'Stasia' - have I got that right? is a wonderful friendly host and nothing is too much trouble. There are a number of very good tavernas within a gentle stroll by the sea or in the opposite direction. A good supermarket is within 100m.
This was our second visit so it must be good!

No sea views as it’s not directly on the sea front, but most of the rooms seemed to overlook the pretty pool. We had B3 which was first floor & was lovely.

There are a few sunbeds and umbrellas provided by the hotel a couple of hundred metres along the little beach but they can be used by anyone so no guarantee of getting one. We mostly went down there late afternoon though and always found some empty
