Our experience was a painful one !!! We booked almost 3 weeks in advance (through Agoda) , trusting the advert and pics from the site. When we arrived we had the biggest shock regarding with a hotel booking !!!! There is NO WELCOME at reception. Just a single girl handing a tired and old key, explaining that you 'll have some help to take you to your room. In fact we booked a " deluxe ocean view vila " . A tiny man arrived and showed us where is our room, walking a bit of distance on the most dangerous steps . We opened the room and here comes the second shock : NO STORAGE ROOM, NO DRAWS, NO SHELLS . Practically no furniture except bed and a little coffee table with two chairs. The condition was broken and the "deluxe vila" it was a tired old cabin. We went to restaurant to check the other facilities, trying to find something to please us. Unfortunately, half of the serving area was in renovation, pool was impracticable because of those works, old and tired furniture, unfriendly staff, EXPENSIVE food&beverage offers . Also, to the only order we made, because none of them talk english, they mixed up wrong the order The entire place was a mess. It can be check by the pics we put on. So, we went at the reception and we were 100% will not spend not even an hour there. The reception was very happy to cancel our booking, but she didn't tell us that WE'LL NOT BE REFUND AT ALL !!! SO , WE LOST £700 WITHOUT A CHANCE TO COMPLAIN OR HAVING ANY RIGHTS TO HAVE JUSTICE !!! The hotel manager is invisible (in fact, the only staff was a girl at reception, a few dirty cleaners, and 2-3 waiters )., so we did not have a chance to solve this problem at all !! We can't upload more than 10 pics here, but believe me , I have 100 pics showing the state of this accommodation ! DO NOT BOOK CRYSTAL BAY YACHT -Koh Samui , if you don't want to be scamed and robbed !!!!

Dear customer I am very sorry you did not like your room and want to stay. We agree to refund you but as you booked via Agoda you will need to contact them and ask for the refund. You paid to Agoda and not to us so you will need to contact them for your refund. You can contact me at tom@crystalbaysamui.com if you need help to do this.

I really wanted to love this place......but i couldnt.......yes, it is in a beautiful location with exotic gardens and tropical plants......the views from our room were wonderful BUT.....on arrival we noticed stained pillowcases and bed sheets.....we complained by walking back to reception as there is no phone in the room.......next day we received badly stained towels........there were spiderwebs in the room and dirty marks on the walls........come on, the place has been closed due to covid, perfect time for a lick of paint and a spruce up??.......the hotel advertises being on a private beach.....NOOOOO the beach, sunbeds, pool and restaurant is overrun by daytrippers who leave their rubbish and dirty nappies on the beach (no bins provided on the beach).......the pool is basically a kiddies paddling pool, just a small area at one end 5ft deep....... some of the wooden chairs at the restaurant have nails sticking out of them............the food at the restaurant is good but not cheap and the service staff are happy and smiling.........breakfast is the same set menu every day, no variation..........If you are thinking of staying here you need to ask your self what you expect for your money......we paid £81 a night and didnt think it was anywhere near worth that...........when we checked out we werent asked if we enjoyed our stay.........this could really be a great hotel but it needs money spending on it and the guests who pay to stay there should be made to feel more important than the daytrippers who take over the place........we loved Koh Samui and will be back but will stay elsewhere

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad you loved our gardens and the location and views. We are aware there is quite a bit of maintenance we need to do in order to be up to scratch. The covid period was extermely hard for us and we are working hard to get back up to standard. We are implementing a new breakfast now so customers can pick and chose what they would like each day.

This is the second time we have stayed here and won't be the last! We stayed in the pool villa which was exceptional... Firstly the view is spectacular you have to see it to believe it !!!!! The room itself was spacious with everything you could possibly need. A huge comfy bed, quiet, cold air con, kettle, fridge, hairdryer, TV with every channel you could wish for and YouTube. Always a bonus !!! The bathroom was beautiful with a double vanity unit and a huge walk-in shower. Outside the villa were 2 sun loungers next to the private pool overlooking the bay. If you are going to treat yourself then this is the room to do it in !!! The room is accessed by a private set of steps which lead you up to the villa. You will not be disappointed, we spent 5 nights up there and never wanted to come down !!!! We also stayed in the hillside villa for 8 nights which was a huge room. The bed was super comfy with great air con. It had a lovely leather table and chairs to sit at, a huge fridge, kettle, hairdryer and an added bonus was that there were lots of hangers in the wardrobe. The TV had all the channels of the Pool Villa. On the patio there was another table and chairs along with a clothes drying wrack. The view was great, you over look the swimming pool and can see the ocean beyond. The food at the restaurant was first class. Every meal we ordered was cooked to perfection. As we travelled around after staying here we were forever comparing the meals we had and I can honestly say nothing beat the food at Crystal Bay Yacht Club. The restaurant staff were amazing, always quick with taking orders and looking after our needs. They are all a credit to the hotel. The pool is quite large with lots of sun loungers around it. There is a massage station right next to the pool overlooking the bay, they did the best massages that I had in Thailand. !! What lovely ladies working there !! There is lots of wild life around the hotel grounds (remember you are in the jungle :) !!!!! the frogs singing in the evening is incredible. The reception staff are the best ever !!!! Always ready to say hi and always with a smile. The manager Jordy was exceptional, always on hand to answer any of our queries whatever the day or time and for organizing a special wedding anniversary dinner in a Sala !!!! Thank you to all of you for making our trip to Samui so memorable. We will be back next year for sure. Summery of Crystal Bay Yacht club Book Book Book you wont be disappointed.

Top: 1. location, right on the beach, great reef to snorkle 2. Aircon works very good. Drawbacks: 1. Breakfast. No variation. Takes very long to order and recieve your daily start. Everyday is the same, no choises. We travel a lot and are used to buffet breakfasts where one can choose a bit. Also: only black coffee included. A cappuccino? 100 bath extra. Personel (myanmar) very friendly. We tried to help them tipping a bit extra now and then. Owner is Dutch. Everyday big groups of friends affecting service levels to other staying (and paying!) guests. 2.Rooms. Sadly outdated with lots of flaws. Sewage is bad. Broken tabs, hoses, disensers, wifi not stable. Bugs (we had a 5cm cockroach, ever seen one of those? Brr) jammed door, just outdated. The should have used the time of the pandemic to renovate. We booked before covid, and paid full in advantage for 6 nights (40.000 thb). Now finally we are here we are happy that we leave tomorrow. 3. High price/ to low value for money ratio. 4. Dirty pool area/ worn out beds 5. Daily laying your towel at the best beths ritual 6. Scarse entertainment Sorry, not recommending for now.

A hidden gem on a budget! This place is on the quiet end of the beach at Crystal Bay and sadly appears to have been affected by the pandemic. The facilities are all a bit run-down and in need of repairs. But what more do you need other than a well appointed villa, close to a convenience store, right on the most gorgeous beach? The food in their restaurant is pretty good too although the service is somewhat slow. But chances are… if you’re holidaying in Crystal Bay you’re not going anywhere in a great hurry.

So I booked this through booking.com and - being quite well experienced- also opted for the taxi service from the airport for the simple reason; to avoid any extra stress. I sent my flight details and got confirmation by e-mail that I would be picked up at the airport. No such thing, watched all the other passengers leave... called the hotel, they confirmed they f**ked up, and sent another car around. 20 minutes later, got picked up, and... dropped off at the wrong place! Saaay wuuuutt? Called again to the hotel, and 15 minutes later, finally got to the right place... (and had to carry my bag around beacuse they changed their reception area - no offer to carry it for me, though.). Still had to pay the 500 thb fare, hmmm... is it really worth it? You would typically expect someone to say "Sir, since we did not deliver, would you accept a discount for the inconvenience?"... guess not. So for the facts and figures: 1) Internet - surprisingly fast - upload and download at 81 Mbps (alas, as long as it works, which is about 50% of the time - they shut down two out of four days) 2) TV - I do not need this, but they do offer an international selections (if you care to watch what appears to be a blizzard rolling across the screen, yes; not the best of receptions). 3) Room - quite huge, good A/C, got a little mini-fridge, safe is (as they are in 90% of the cases) always locked and useless because the last one never bothered to reset, nor did the hotel staff. 4) Restaurant is decent, food is not Michelin quality, but it will keep you going, and it is priced around 140 - 250 thb per dish, so okay. The view is priceless. 5) Location - it is nice, 50m to the beach, 200m to nearest 7-Eleven and nearby restaurants... almost 700m to nearest ATM, so bear that in mind. 6) Transport - there is a taxi stand right across the street, otherwise - go for a motobike rental - I went for "A to B car and motorbike rental" through the hotel, no stress. (see separate review on that one) As a closure; if you do not like bugs, well... this is what it is, in nature, expect a few cockroaches and mosquitos, so that will not count negative in this review.

I absolutely loved my stay here. It was so great I extended the trip two weeks longer than planned. While I could see some that would prefer a resort where they wait on you hand and foot (this is not that kind of place), others like myself who are looking for something different will find it here: a perfect location (not too isolated, not too busy), a caring, kind and patient staff, a gorgeous garden, and being right in the most beautiful beach in the island. The restaurant while not currently open for dinner, is a great place to pass the day. All the key needs were met: big fridge, wifi, oh and again, a gorgeous beach. Some of the furniture was a bit worn, but didn’t bother me. Can’t wait to return.

Staying 4 days / 3 nights, our first day was at the tail end of one tropical cyclone so the beach in front of the hotel was littered with debris from the sea, however on our third day when the sun was up, the Hotel staff made a genuine effort to clean up the beach. We picked a beachfront villa (no.410) which is literally 200m from the sea, the room was spotless and clean, a bit dated decor but the location of the glazing in this villa allowed natural light to fill the room and looked stunning! There was big issue with our Shower (it wasn’t working), but we spoke to the manager, French Expat I believe, and in less than 30 mins he replaced the water pump and our shower was working! Pros: Beautiful resort, friendly and helpful staff especially the manager (I saw other people on TA post negative reviews about the staff, but this was absolutely not the case now), amazing beach especially after was cleaned up / Cons: don’t go to Samui during Raining season :-(

Having seen this property on a Samui YouTube LiveCam, we decided to give it a try despite the somewhat less than stellar reviews on TA. What a surprise! Whether it was management's recently refocusing its attention or just plain luck, our experience was near-idyllic. Crystal Bay is situated on a quiet inlet between the two major beaches on Samui and the beach is fine and white, the water clear down to the toes. There are just 2 or 3 properties on the bay, making it nearly private (especially during this low/post-Covid season.) One of the advantages to staying on an older property is that the gardens are mature and these were beautifully maintained as well. Both the maintenance and housekeeping staff were delightful - in contrast to the reception and restaurant staff who were somewhat sullen and seemed put-out by simple requests. No worries - lots of terrific restaurants are available within reasonable proximity... We wish the Yacht Club the best going forward, encouraging management to continue obvious efforts to welcome tourists back to a clean and service-oriented environment and to making their stay as pleasant as possible. Thank you!
