A very interesting resort or should I say a thai palace. We stayed for 4 days in off season and had the place almost to ourselves. We stayed in a luxurious two bedroom villa with private overlooking the beach which was incredible and great value. The breakfast was incredible and the service by Gus was amazing. They made us a special cocktail based on something we had elsewhere. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything from cocktails to the thai menu was very reasonable priced. If you want a relaxing break on a powdered beach in a relatively small resort this is the ideal place. Beach restaurants and massage literally next door which we tried as well a 1km walk via the beach gets you into the centre of Lamai. Lots of bars and restaurants as well as massage spas.

This is definitely the most memorable hotel I’ve ever stayed at, it was truly spectacular. The grounds and villa is just amazing. Everything is so beautiful and it truly felt like a Thai palace in paradise. The pool is just amazing. Very deep and the perfect temperature. The staff was very kind and helped accommodate us and cleaned our room daily. It seemed like they were a bit short staffed. I wish they had advertised their massage services and service hours more. I forgot they had massage services so I reccomend including a brochure when you check in! The breakfast was delicious, best I had in Thailand. I recommend the pumpkin pancakes and smoothies! The breakfast ordering process was a bit confusing and complex though. We also found it strange that there is no phone in the hotel and only text communication. The only downsides to this hotel I would say is small details. The cleanliness is excellent and nothing I worried about, but the bed seemed less than satisfactory to us. The pillows seemed old and yellowing and there were many marks or holes in the bedding. For hotels, the bedding is the most important aspect in my opinion so I recommend buying new linens and pillows. Bed was not super comfortable. My boyfriend felt the locks and doors in the room were not super secure but I felt pretty safe. The jacuzzi was great and big but rough and we could never quite get the sand out of it. The draining in the jacuzzi is too strong too. The outdoor shower is so beautiful and fantastic though. The last point I have is that the hotel lotion was the most disgusting smelling lotion I have ever smelled. It was so awful I told my boyfriend not to wear it because I couldn’t stand the smell. I don’t know if it was the normal smell of the lotion or if it had been in the bottle too long, but the shampoo and conditioner smelled great. Overall, I loved the hotel and thought it was excellent. I would definetely reccomend to a friend and stay there again.

Of all the places I've stayed over the years - this may have been the most glamorous and beautiful room and property. From the beach the place looks okay. But when you walk around the grounds it is just stunning. We stayed in the pool villa 2 bedroom beach front pool villa. It was unbelievable. We had our own pool that led to a patio overlooking the beach and sea. The room itself was very large and it had a clothes washing machine and a kitchen. I think we could have lived in this villa for a month. The property was great - a big beautiful pool, a great dining area, a nice bar, a gym and the breakfast was enormous - and fantastic. The staff did an awesome job and they were all so friendly. The location of the property is about a 10 minute walk on the beach to the center of town or you can walk up the hill at the entrance and you enter town at the bottom of the hill. Plenty of little restaurants and bars nearby, including 2 or 3 on the beach next to the property. I would love to return to this place someday! Beautiful!!

First time in Lanai on many visits to Samui . This place is amazing . Pool villa huge and staff are excellent. Still Gerry quiet post- Covid meaning bar and restaurant not open late but plenty of options nearby . Breakfast staff and bar staff were fantastic. Only negatives were the ongoing use of plastic straws with everything- switch to paper and save the planet !! Also constant smoke from burning rubbish at next door property ( including plastic!!)

My boyfriend and I stayed at the resort in a private pool villa for a week in May 2022. The whole resort is beautiful, with direct access to Lamai beach and what a beach! Also, just a short walk to the town, where you have lots of options i.e. restaurants, massage, small shops ect. The resort offers everything you’re looking for, fantastic, very clean rooms, excellent breakfast (everything is freshly made and so very delicious). they have a very nice fitness room as well - aircondition good equipment. The staff was fantastic, always very helpful, funny and smiling. We feelt truly welcome. Highly recommended resort! And we will definately return next time visiting Lamai. For us it was the perfect choice.

Ammatarapura Resort is spectacular place worth 5 Stars any day. Whole resort is like living in a Royal palace. Gold here and Gold there. Villas are very big and belongs to WAU factor department. Just look the pictures you know what I mean. Koh Samui and Lamai area are sadly very very quiet and in Ammatarapura it was difficult to see any other travelers beside us. Beach are outside this fine resort is the best in Lamai area. On the beach area you have French managed Baobap restaurant to fulfill you appetite. During night time there was no persons in the reception nor any security persons in their designated booths. Covid and its aftermath affect for this result. Breakfast was not buffet kind (understand just 2-5 customers). You choose from list what type of breakfast you want. Personal on breakfast room were really nice and the did the best they can. Happy for their services. Wi-Fi speed-in the resort is ok 40-60 Mbit/sec ok for my need. Cons: Air-condition is really noisy and you can't do anything. Close it and put the fan on and it might help. Not noisy but somewhat irritating to my taste. Suggestion for the resort: if you are week on your knee or somewhat handicapped you might have problems to go down in the stairs. Steps are very steep and you must think all the time what you do and hold one hand into wall to go down. Proper handrails would fix this problem for good. Highly recommended upgrade and the Aircon upgrade too. Mechanically Air-con outer unit is out of date and can be partly the issue for noise.

Under normal conditions, I would give 3 stars, but will cut them some slack due to the pandemic. Positive: The rooms are just amazing! We had a seaview villa. The staff is super friendly and helpful! The gym is ok, needs some more equipment and a new and working AC. The breakfast is good, tho you order it all the day before due to situation. The pool is nice, and the beach is beautiful. Negative: way too few staff in order to keep this place running. The receptionist has to double up as waiter, beachboy and generally everything. Unless you preorder food, there is no room service after 17. There is a very steep hill you need to climb to exit this hotel, getting to the walking street. Be aware if you have issues getting around. Still the best resort we could spot on Lamai!

We arrived after a very long journey and were welcomed by such lovely ladies. It was late and she offered to go and collect some take away Thai food for us. The hotel itself is immaculate and palatial. The temple in the gardens is beautiful. The area is very quiet and only just recovering from Covid. The Thai people are so happy to see tourists and genuinely love to chat and help in any way. There are some great beach bars on the right of the hotel. And 3 great masseuse ladies who will also make you laugh! Have to mention Kaye the lovely lady working at breakfast and the pool bar. Just a lovely lady. Also the man working every day at breakfast, so attentive and gentle. As most reviews say Thailand is beautiful but the people more so. The hotel is is beautiful, so clean, the rooms incredibly spacious (with a washing machine!) it’s in a great location and has wonderful people working there that are like a family. Thank you.
