If you have Celiac disease, traveling, and making sure you avoid any gluten or gluten contamination is probably a real challenge. My Mom was diagnosed a few years ago, and gluten intolerance has completely changed her life. That’s why we are so thankful that we’ve discovered this amazing hotel in the beautiful Aldo Adige region. For the duration of your stay, you will not have to miss out on some of the best local Italian food imaginable. You will chose from the same menu as every other guest, but your food will be prepared using gluten-free ingredients, in a separate kitchen, and by carefully trained staff that’s fully committed to ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of guests with Celiac disease. Take a moment and look through the pictures that other users have posted. Every meal that’s on the hotel’s daily dinner menu will be prepared gluten free for guests with Celiac disease. That means, every day you will have the choice between one of three gluten-free appetizers, one of three gluten free main courses, and one of three gluten-free desserts. Exactly the same choices as all the other guests, only carefully prepared to meet the needs of guests with Celiac disease (and as mentioned, prepared in a separate kitchen.) But that’s just dinner. Every day starts out with a breakfast buffet with so many choices of gluten free bread and pastries, also served in a separate area to avoid cross-contamination. And perhaps the most thoughtful offering is that you’ll be able to order a gluten-free to-go lunch, packaged in a thermos food container so that you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings and never have to worry where to find a place to eat something that’s enjoyable and safe. We have been to Villa Madonna several times, and it is the only travel experience we have encountered where my Mom can really feel safe. Villa Madonna is our little paradise for being able to just have a good time without having to worry about all the inconveniences and restrictions that my Mom typically faces when traveling. We couldn’t be more grateful to the staff and management of Hotel Villa Madonna. We have never experienced anything like it anywhere else. A lot of this review focused on the food, but it is a beautiful hotel all around. I can’t wait to go back!

Dear Aeroblue, thank you very much for your amazing report about our hotel and for giving us the highest possible, 5-stars rating on Tripadivsor. We are glad you and your mother appreciated our structure and our effort to make our guests -both gluten free and non- feel comfortable and safe. Our gluten free meals are prepared in a separate, dedicated kitchen - to avoid contamination. We offer the same menu to all of our guests, in the way that nobody has to feel different. Our gluten-free guests have the possibility to order a gluten-free to go lunch, in order to feel safe also outside our structure. It was a pleasure to have you as our guests and we hope that you will return for another stay at Hotel Villa Madonna! Kind regards

Villa Madonna is a small boutique hotel located in the hills of Piemonte. The one thing that Struck me most about this place was the staff. A testament that your hotel will only be as wonderful as the people that work there. A special recognition to Gregorio, a man with a warm heart a constant smile and kind words for all. You will see him working multiple jobs around the hotel and I have never met a more welcoming man. In fact all the the Villas staff is extremely welcoming. The general level of service of this hotel is exceptional. Time for the nitty gritty...
Cons
Massage services were not available until the weekend
There were no yoga classes to be heard of
(two reasons we selected this hotel)
The pool bar menu is not as well rounded as it should be.
The music in the restaurant was dated, not particularly enjoyable and on a very short loop
The Gym was lacking sufficient equipment
Special note to the Chef, please give up on the tuna starters with the prix fix menu, and the chicken / cheese salad is completely bland and uninspired, (The rest was fantastic)
Pros
The staff, The Staff, The Staff
Interior Design was awesome (Great Photography :) )
Rooms and beds were well appointed and very comfortable (we were upgraded to a deluxe room)
The food is generally very good
Great Walking Routes that are pre planned
great Sommelier (Josh) with awesome tasting menu !
Needless to Say we will be back, also a great venue for a wedding or family gathering, I highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel Villa Madonna is a great place for families who need a safe gluten-free diet. We stayed there for the second time during this year's carnival holidays as we really enjoyed our time there.
However, it seems that the management is not interested in constructive feedback on how to improve communication with guests (adapting website content & informing of changes in costs on arrival). Perhaps the business is doing well without the drive for continuous improvement and customer focus.
For us, this is a great deception and it remains to be recommended to explore other options with a more guest friendly attitude.

this was our second visit to the 'Madonna' as it sits neatly between our yacht and villa.
This visit, the hotel was fairly fully booked and we had the 'standard' experience as opposed to the 'gold' experience we enjoyed on our previous visit, when there were only a few couples staying.
This is in no way a criticism of the hotel, everything is done with care and attention, and the standard of rooms, food and hygiene are not compromised regardless of how busy they are.
The 'Gala' diner we enjoyed on the first evening, again re-invigorated our pleasure and delight in finding the hotel.
Alpine Horn band on the Tuesday evening were a bonus...
love the Tripadvisor questions:
Does this hotel offer rooms with a City View? - it's in the middle of nowhere!
Does this hotel offer rooms with an Ocean View? - this particular nowhere is landlocked.
(well it made me smile)

I arrived in the village of Castelrotto without pre-booking any accommodation. The tourist office helpfully printed off a list of hotels in the area with vacancies. I chose to walk to the furtherest one, the Hotel Villa Madonna. There I found a lovely single room with a bathroom and balcony at a very reasonable price for half board. The staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful, and the food was excellent. There was even special catering for those with gluten intolerance. Right outside is a local bus stop and it's a 10 minute ride to the cable car station. The hotel itself is very attractive and is in a beautifully peaceful setting.

+1
Hotel Villa Madonna is situated in the beautiful Alpe di Siuai region of Trentino Alto Adige near the village of Siusi allo Sciliar. The hotel grounds are well kept with open areas for children to play in, there are goats too which were a big hit with my son. Ample covered parking. The hotel is clean, welcoming and well organized. There is a swimming pool and open air jacuzzi. Our son is celiac and the hotel is very well organized for people with glutine free dietary requirements. Breakfast was wonderful! A wide selection of both glutine free and non. The hotel provide glutine free packed lunches to order. My son had lasagna, omlette and cutlets which were all great. Dinner was excellent with lots of local delicacies on offer. Our room, 303, was comfortable with a touch of mountain charm. We chose Hotel Villa Madonna because of its glutine free services but every thing else was wonderful too. I hope we are able to get back again next year!

Someone in my family has gluten allergy (Coeliac disease), so for us it's important to find hotel who respect this (btw, italy is great for this...). We found this hotel in Dolomites (close to Bolzano). The hotel is situated in a small town of Siusi. The mountain style - hotel is very clean and it's staff most helpful. Next to the hotel is a charming little church where you can attend mass.
The hotel has 2 completely separated kitchens and diner places, one for coeliac people and one normal. The breakfast is buffet is very complete.
The hotel is perfect as a basis for nice walks into the neighborhood.
In other words, if you have to watch on what you can eat and are looking for a nice (not to large) family-hotel, it's a good place to stay.

Dear Guest, I am really pleased by your review, and I want to thank you for sharing an impression of your stay. It is really important, for people with coeliac disease, to find a place where their need is well-known, and where the staff is able to take care of them. Our aim is to offer the best of the Italian and Sud-Tiroler tradition, meeting the best standard of safety. Our Hotel is a good basis to live the mountains. We are 5 minutes away from the village center, in a quiet and panoramic position, 10 minutes walk away from the Seiser Alm cableway, which in a blink of an eye brings you in the suggestive plateau, Unesco world's natural heritage. We wish you will join us for another vacation in the alps!

DISAPPOINTMENT.
I would like to start by saying that we had already stayed in this hotel in August 2022, and all in all it was a decent stay with particular attention to celiacs. this year we had easily booked a COMFORT room, when we arrived in room (501) it was in fact well furnished and clean, the only but unacceptable flaw was the only window directly overlooking the hydromassage tub open to all with the only possibility of privacy, lowering the aluminum shutters and staying sealed in the room (hello CONFORT) a suggestion just put a curtain where in the lower part for about 1 meter there is a fabric that darkens and in the upper part a transparent fabric that allows you to see the wonderful external landscape from the room and at the same time have direct light . Not satisfied with the accommodation we asked to change rooms they offered us a standard room (210 on the second floor), we always accepted better than staying in the window, NO COMMENT I just suggested that they at least replace the mattress.
- Service, the guys in the room and reception are perfect, always smiling and available.
- Breakfast, the 2022 standard was confirmed, sparse buffets and very little quality of products, but we knew this.
- Cuisine, big step back compared to 2022, minimal quantity, quality?? on the site it is advertised as "SURPRISE DESSERT MONDAY" in fact it was a bad surprise: very cold crepes that the service worker could hardly untangle from the tray to serve.
"TUESDAY WELCOME APERITIF AND TYPICAL TYROLEAN DINNER" the buffet aperitif included SUSHI (typical Tyrolean) and countless other dishes that had nothing Tyrolean about them and we're not talking about quality.... maybe fewer things and with a minimum quality. the Tyrolean dinner.... nettle risotto and pork roll wrapped in a slice of speck accompanied by a porcini flavored pie (at least the speck is typical of the area), single portion dessert of Sacher mousse cake, not eaten!! ! in my opinion frozen layer of jam, according to the chef, this is how it should be... I remain of my opinion.
At the end of the stay we discovered that compared to 2022 they have changed pastry chef...... as always we know who is leaving, we don't know who is staying.
thanks and good job.

This is my review from 2 years ago (at the end you will find the one from this year):
What can I say about this hotel: saying a dream is not enough, the chef and all the waiters are uniquely available, I have many allergies in addition to wheat and I must tell the truth that every day I had a different and delicious breakfast and dinner, the same dishes they were in the gluten free version and not everyone does something like that. I was never there for lunch, because in these wonderful places, you can't help but walk and enjoy the view, but thanks to the lunch box service that I could choose the night before, they ensured I had a quick lunch to take with me on my excursions. .. the hotel is very clean and organised. The room was spotless and impeccable every day. The staff were very kind and friendly. They make you feel at home but you eat better than at home.. a special thanks to the chef Angelo and in the dining room to Angelo who pampered me and served me with great professionalism and attention.. next year we will return.
.
We left off like this, ''next year we will return'' and instead this year when we made the reservation we wanted to make we were told: we no longer accept dogs... So I'll say one thing: from a hotel that is part of a diocese, and that as Saint Francis teaches us ''Love animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and an unperturbed joy. Don't disturb them, don't mistreat them, don't deprive them of their joy, don't go against the divine thought'';
or even Pope John Paul II said that: “Animals possess a Divine breath and one day we will find them again in the Mystery of Christ.”
Now my family and I have to deprive ourselves of going on holiday to a place where we were all happy, we felt at home, and where I could eat well with all the allergies I have,
because I can't bring my little dog.
He goes where I go and I leave him at home, much less would I ever abandon him..
