The place is simply magical, very few rooms on magnificent spaces, the beach is very beautiful, bathing and swimming very safe thanks to the coral reef which allows you to maintain calm water, even when the sea is rough, further away, there are a lot of fish and corals to discover even if we feel that the coral is suffering (global warming). Be careful with low tide, there is little water but you can still swim.
Catering is the big strong point These are chefs who each offer their own specialties and it is worthy of great restaurants, we particularly appreciated the Thai menus. Several places are offered for dinner with totally different atmospheres.
What can I say about the staff! Just incredible! Kind, attentive, helpful, available, smiling... They do everything to be pleasant to you. At breakfast it’s a pleasure to see them again, the morning staff are really charming.
Overall, employees respect each other, show kindness to each other, we They don't feel like they are under pressure, which is very nice for us.
The housekeeping and concierge teams are just as professional, the room is spotless every day, everything is cleaned from top to bottom.
Thai massages are very professional and effective
Finally, there is free access to yoga classes several times during the day. The teacher is very professional, the lessons are appreciated. The location for the sessions is charming: a cabin with exotic parquet floors surrounded by a garden with a multitude of birds.
I recommend room 137 in it is a little off-center facing the sea, very quiet not overlooked, there is also room 139 up to 143.
To summarize, lots of privacy, because very few rooms and top-notch staff, careful cuisine Lush gardens as beautiful during the day as at night.
Here nothing is left to chance, everything is in the detail, and it is very successful.
Downside: there are a lot of stairs, particularly in the spa and restaurants, and no handrail to hold on to, which can be problematic in the event of mobility problems.
These rave words are deserved, it’s rare to live such an experience! Thank you all and well done

If you need a peaceful and quiet holiday In Mauritius I strongly recommend Shanti Maurice. The property boasts only 61 deluxe rooms standing over a well manicured park ; it offers fine dining facilities and a renowned spa with professional therapists. It is managed skilfully to international rating standards. Room rates are competitive and you feel you are the only guests around the property ; the 300 staffs bend backwards to respond to your every whim !

Response from Shanti Maurice, General Manager at Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa
We stayed here for a week after having stayed in the north of the island, we used both locations as bases to explore from. This hotel, its location and its staff are all exceptional. We had a really well located room, right on the beach. The room was large with a very well appointed bathroom - the outdoor shower was great fun. For those from the UK; the rooms are generously equipped with UK standard 3-pin sockets - no need for converters. The main restaurant, Stars is the primary place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast catered to most cuisines - it was great to experience the variety (the fresh bread was superb). At dinner there was a choice from half a dozen menus which was not something we've experienced before. Each cuisine had its own chef and the results were exceptional, also a great way to explore different countries food. Fabulous as this hotel is, don't forget to explore the area, there are fabulous walks in both directions from the hotel and there is easy access to many places of interest in the south of the island. We had the most amazing, relaxing time here and would return in a heartbeat

In an overall cozy atmosphere, we were assigned a personal butler as we were staying in a pool villa. It was easy to request room service without any inconvenience, and the room was even cleaned twice a day in the morning and afternoon, so you could spend your honeymoon in a very comfortable environment. There was!

Our eleven-day stay in October 2023 was one of the most beautiful holidays we have ever had. The spacious resort in the south of the island offered us plenty of space and privacy in an extremely well-kept environment. The house reef enabled snorkeling without disturbing boat traffic.
Our Ocean View Pool Villa offered us a breathtaking sea view and a pleasantly temperate pool. A special highlight was the day we were lucky enough to watch whales directly from our villa, which stayed very close to the beach for an extended period of time. This was an unforgettable experience for us. Our villa had a spacious living / sleeping area, a bathroom and an outdoor shower. The room was cleaned very thoroughly twice a day.
Our special thanks go to Amal, our butler, who made our holiday very special. His professionalism, attentiveness and warmth were exceptional. He was always there for us and made our holiday perfect.
We would also like to thank Vishal and the team at the Rum Shed for the excellent food. On our second visit we were greeted by name and a warm hug. On our last evening, the team had beautifully decorated our table with flowers.
On a private tour, Krishna showed us the south of the island. It was a great and varied experience that we will remember for a long time. The spa area also deserves special recognition. The professional team and the treatments offered rounded off our holiday experience. The general manager Brice looked after his guests excellently. He came to our table almost every day and asked how we were doing. Our stay at Shanti Maurice and the friendliness of all the staff will remain in our memories for a very long time.

Our wildest expectations were far exceeded here at the Shanti Maurice Hotel in Mauritius. We wanted to celebrate our dream wedding on the beach on April 24, 2024 and as soon as we arrived at the hotel we were warmly welcomed with a bottle of champagne. Our Ocean View Suite was perfect.
Wedding: we discussed the entire organization of the wedding in detail with our wedding planner Jennifer in advance (flowers, cake, playlist, makeup, hairdresser...) The wedding day began with various treatments and we were pampered in the beautiful spa. Sheila looked after us wonderfully, she is extremely competent and perfect in every respect, both when it comes to partner massage, cosmetics and other treatments. The make-up artist and hairdresser for our wedding were perfectly organized by Jennifer. At 4 p.m. we celebrated our wedding on the beach in fantastic weather in a pavilion specially built for us, which was decorated with beautiful flowers and balloons. The romantic ceremony, which was accompanied by music of our choice, was performed by Jennifer. Afterwards there was a bottle of champagne that was decanted with a sword, really a dream. Just like the wedding bouquet and the wonderful cake, simply fantastic. We were also delighted that Director Brice was there. These wonderful moments were captured by our professional photographer. In the fully air-conditioned and heavenly decorated wine cellar (heart made of candles, swans, balloons, flowers everywhere...) we were served a 4-course wedding menu of the finest quality. Ashwyna took care of our personal well-being and spoiled us. She gave us a card with congratulations from the entire team. In our room we were blessed with rose petals on the bed and 2 wonderful swans made from towels.
Luckily we ran into Amal and he showed us the Front Beach Villas. It was love at first sight. Thanks to Amal and Brice, we were able to spend the rest of our honeymoon. We have our own pool here. The highlight was the floating breakfast in the pool.
Another tip at the end: visit the Rum-Shed restaurant, where there are over 300 types of rum to taste and American barbecue. Victor recommended it to us and there a beautifully laid table awaited us, decorated for us with rose petals, candles and a huge bouquet of flowers.
Hans organized the excursions for us, the private dolphin tour (swimming with the dolphins) was an absolutely unforgettable nature experience.
We were also able to explore the south of the island with Krishna, our chauffeur, in the hotel's own VIP Mercedes. He was a very good driver and told us a lot about the country, people, culture and religion. Thank you all very much.
Our honeymoon will remain unforgettable. Regina & Otmar ♡

The location of the resort is very nice. On the booking platform and also on the promotional leaflets, the beach looks without rocks or only slightly rocky. However, the reality is completely different. We bought a Beachfront Villa all inclusive, but it was not possible to swim in front of the villa because of rocks (our expectations were not met). There were tourists with different packages in the resort (breakfast only, half board, full board, all inclusive), which in our opinion is not quite suitable, because for others there were different restrictions and for us with our package the food and drinks were not enough flexible available. Compared to other All inclusive destinations, it did not meet our expectations. The staff was mostly nice and supportive. If we ever return, it would be primarily because of the butler Amal, who was very helpful, very empathetic, very attentive, very responsive, provided top service, everything to make us feel fantastic. We also want to thank the young waitress Eudoniat, who was very nice and one of the best fom the restaurant staff. And of course the very top SPA.

Response from Shanti Maurice, General Manager at Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa
We stayed at Shanti Maurice for our honeymoon at the beginning of September 2024 and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, especially our butler Amal who constantly went out of his way to make sure our stay was as lovely as possible.
The resort is beautifully kept and feels like paradise with exotic birds and breathtaking views of the sea that looked even more amazing at sunset.
The accommodation was perfect. We stayed in a Beachfront Villa Suite with our own pool and sunbeds on the beach. It was easily the nicest accommodation we've ever stayed at and made our honeymoon feel really special.
The resort offers a selection of places to eat which all felt different and the food was always prepared to a high standard and was very nice. We had amazing service throughout, especially from Vishal at the Rum Shed.
During our stay we went on a few excursions which Amal was very helpful at organising for us. We visited the Seven Coloured Earth which was interesting and also had giant tortoises which were fun to watch. We also went on a dolphin watching boat trip and were lucky enough to swim with a pod of wild dolphins which was amazing.
Overall we'd highly recommend Shanti Maurice. Mauritius is a lovely holiday destination and Shanti Maurice offers the highest standard in hospitality and is the perfect place to stay. Thank you Shanti Maurice for making our honeymoon memories some of the best we have, and especially to Amal for his attentiveness and help throughout our stay. We can’t wait to pay another visit in the future.

This hotel has the most amazing staff. Each and everyone; reception, gardening, beach, restaurant, cocktail staff, but the wonderful Amal was our star. We had a pool villa: lily, which was truly amazing. Great views of the magnificent sea and surf from everywhere. The room was well thought out with everything we needed. Such attention to detail. Champagne, chocolates and fruit on arrival. Faultless. Clean and everything always replaced silently in the background. Amal appeared everywhere when we needed him like a "magic genie" - so impressive and especially kind to arrange buggies around the resort at a moments notice. The girls thank him for taking care of them. Amal arranged a beautiful bed decoration of roses and swans on our anniversary and superb candlelit supper in the wine vault. The restaurants were varied and the food was truly amazing. We often eat Michelin star and certain dishes were a very high standard-loved the sushi. The choices were amazing. We loved the Rum shed and Vishal was great. Pritish made us some amazing cocktails-loved his "shut up and drink". We were hooked on the frozen daquiris. The breakfasts were one of the best we have had in the world-amazing choices and the quality of the food was always exemplary. Our pool was sizeable and beautifully warm and lit at night. The main pool was large enough and interesting shape to avoid the kids playing in it. Whilst we were there the sea was a little rough at times and the coral not so great as other places around the island. There was so much to do; golf, tennis, the spa had a lovely pool too. We went on the most amazing dolphin, whale, snorkelling trip arranged by the hotel. My one comment would be the plugs were a bit of a scrabble to reach behind furniture. Such a great stay we were che king out where else the resorts/hotels existed in the world. Truly magnificent customer service.

Response from Shanti Maurice, General Manager at Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa
Our stay at Shanti Maurice & Spa in Mauritius was undoubtedly the best holiday we have ever had as a family (with two kids, 7 and 10 years old).
The complex is located in a quiet bay in the south of the island, protected by a reef. The spacious complex offers plenty of space and privacy. The complex was well maintained, the housekeeping was excellent (and very trustworthy), and there were three great restaurants with a wide range of culinary offerings - there was something for everyone. The price/performance ratio of the menu was a bit excessive in my opinion at times, but overall still in the green zone. Oh yes, and then there was the guitarist who provided a relaxed musical atmosphere once a week... cool sound!
The staff is also particularly worthy of mention. Always friendly, attentive and clearly trying to ensure that guests have a nice and relaxing holiday. A special thank you goes to "Mevin".
The hotel's own spa also deserves special praise. The treatments from "Yogesh" were an absolute highlight that I will never forget. He understood my body within a few minutes and got it back in shape after a few days. With his professional work, he made a significant contribution to my recovery. Yogesh - thank you very much for your help!!!
Tip: I only had my first treatment halfway through the holiday, so after a few days of rest and regeneration there was little time left for further treatments. So it's best to visit the spa on the first day - it's really worth it.
All in all, we will have positive memories of the Shanti Maurice & Spa in Mauritius for a long time to come. Would we come again? Yes, definitely. Holidays have become expensive in 2024 and it should be clear that a stay in Mauritius is not a bargain. However, the holiday during the Whitsun holidays was 100% worth it for us and I can only warmly recommend a stay.
Greetings from Munich. Tom
P.S.: We miss the coconut jam from breakfast... ;)

Be careful that the wind and weather on this coast will be worse than rest of island. No one told us that the huge waves were going to be there with the wind. The other coasts are better
Hi Julie,
I'd thoroughly recommend this as a good choice for the celebration. The attention we got from the staff was incredible and so I'm sure this would translate well to the birthday celebrations. The range of food is wonderful and you'll have plenty of seafood options to choose from as well. The Resort is well placed for great outings to the Black river Gorge national park, chamarel rum distillery and le morne beaches as well as having a brilliant spa to treat yourselves in!
Hope this helps
David
