The lodge is very close to the airport, (around 10 minutes). Be prepared for the bit of fairly poor dirt road to get there though. I stayed for one night only. The accommodation is clean and spacious but somewhat dated. I stayed in a two bedroom unit all by myself. It has a fully equipped kitchen, lounge with television (limited channels) and shower only. Breakfast cereal, milk and yoghurt and bottled water was provided as well as coffee and tea. The bedrooms have air-conditioning. The premises are fairly secure with controlled access, electric fences and alarms. The unit I stayed in also has burglar bars and security gate. It was very quiet and I had a good nights sleep. After getting my key I never saw or heard anyone. You simply drop your key in a drop box. The best thing is that you can get up and leave 10 minutes before you have to be at the airport.

I stayed here on a business trip for 3 months from Mar to Jun 2019. It was an exceptional experience overall. Khumbalani (the Manager) was incredibly friendly and helpful the entire time, going out of his way to assist me in ways I would not have expected, including driving me to meetings and (this being a self-catering accommodation) taking me to a nearby center where I could shop.

The staff was the friendliest I've ever encountered while traveling -- always smiling and pleasant; always ready with a friendly greeting every morning, and indeed any time I encountered them. They did laundry for me and kept my room spotless.

The owner, Don, was very nice and we had a number of nice chats. When there were some initial reliability issues with the Wi-Fi (necessary for my work), he invested a considerable effort in time and funds to upgrade it, and it worked flawlessly after that.

The lodge is self-catering but there is a full kitchen for guests, which I used extensively to prepare my meals, and a braai available and nice swimming pool. My room had A/C but most of the rooms do not. Tea, coffee, yogurt, milk, bottled water, and cereal were provided at no extra cost.

Finally, I have to mention the dog there -- he was the sweetest and best mannered pup I've ever met and he brightened every day I spent there.

Overall, I've never felt so at home and warmly welcomed anywhere while traveling. I was genuinely sad to leave.

Also -- although this is not directly related to the lodge -- there is a small pub about a kilometer up the road that serves some of the best food I've had at exception prices and the woman who runs it, her staff, and the patrons there (many of them regulars) were extremely friendly and welcoming.

Finally, the location of the lodge is quite peaceful and the security there is very good. (As always when traveling, it's important to be aware of the local security situation.) If there is a downside, it's that the lodge is a bit isolated and therefore a ways from other amenities. I did not have a car while staying there, so planning was required, but that was not a hardship. Shopping for all essentials (and some excellent pizza) are a few minutes away. The lodge is about 10 minutes from the Lanseria airport.

Overall, I cannot speak too highly of my time there, and consider it to have been an amazing value. I extend my sincere thanks to Khumbalani, Don and their staff for an outstanding visit.

I was travelling alone and stayed overnight. Khumbalani (the Manager) was the sweetest, friendliest most helpful person Iv met. He put my mind at ease and made my stay very pleasant. He organized all the transportation I needed to get around . Well done Khumbalani for your impressive service. My room was clean, fresh and very neat. It had everything I needed in it. I will definitely be staying there the next time i come to Joburg.5 star room for the most affordable price .

This lodge consists of cottages on a small estate. It is convenient for business people because of its proximity to Lanseria airport, ten minutes away. There is reasonable wifi and there was a TV in the room which had three channels and a very poor picture but I'm sure that would have been rectified had I wanted to watch it. The cleaning staff were very pleasant and an average meal is available for breakfast or dinner on request. The shuttle service to and from the airport was not very efficient. Four stars for good value for a single traveler.

Had a very relaxing stay considering it was combined with a high priority business trip to and from the local Lanseria airport each day for a week. The suites are fantastic and very clean and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was fabulous as was the friendly smiling service from all staff, Robert the Manager and Bruce the owner. Thanks a bunch guys and girls - but hey see if you can do something about an in-house free Wi-Fi system !!
