Just 200m from the slopes, clean and well maintained pension.
We have spent with other families in Piz Da Cir already several winter holidays and plan to come back again. Nice place, reasonable price, ideal for families with children. Rooms are reasonably large, only beds could be bigger for my 1,9m height. Wi-Fi is free, but internet is rather slow.
Various slopes at Col Pradat are suitable both for children as well as for advanced skiers. Very good connection also to Sella Ronda.

This is the second year we have spent our winter holidays at Piz da Cir and we have enjoyed our stay very much. We stayed for a week in the appartment number four: a quite large appartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a dining room with a small well equipped kitchen and a balcony with an astonishing view of mountais. Piz da Cir has a small number of apparments, it is very quiet, and conviniently located at a short walking distance from the departure of the ski lifts and the shops. Piz da Cir is also pet friendly: we brought with us our cat who enjoyed the stay as much as we did. The residence is run by a local family that is very welcoming and responsive and that keeps the appartments very cleen.

In the Residence Piz da Cir we have spent our winter holiday every year since 2010. There we find everything we need for a perfect staying, suitable for couples and families. The apartments are comfortable, warm, and very clean. The internet connection is available. Cars can be left on a parking place, some even in a garage. There is a heated storing room for ski and ski boots. The Residence is situated close to the ski slopes and cable lifts in Colfosco, offering also good connections to several other ski resorts. In addition, the close vicinity of several shops, bars, restaurants, and a picturesque old village church is appreciated. The nearest tourist town, Corvara, is attainable by foot along a beautiful panoramic road. The Residence is owned by a friendly family where everyone is taking his part in the care for well-being of the guests. We have never been disappointed, not even by the weather, and we can highly recommend to everyone who likes majestic mountain scenery, fresh air and healthy recreation in pure nature to visit Colfosco and to stay in the Residence Piz da Cir.

Firstly fair play to the website designer, this place looks great when you see it online. Fast forward to when you get there and (if you stayed in the 'apartment' we stayed in) you'll be massively disappointed.

Here's what we found:

1. You can hear EVERYTHING that goes on next door - dishwashing, showers, toilet flushing (and everything that goes with it), television, conversations, pins dropping......

2. In spite of being advertised as a double-bed you won't actually get a double bed, at least in our experience. The bed is two single bed frames, with single mattresses, pushed together with a double mattress sheet pulled over the top. The 6-inch trench between the two mattresses is the best contraception going.

3. Bring your own toilet roll and washing up liquid - yeah the website doesn't tell you that. I don't know about you but I don't regularly think to turn up to hotels/apartments with my own toilet paper and Fairy liquid! We were given half a roll for 10 days and met with stony, grumpiness when we asked for a replenishment.

4. You've got to be a magician to get your car in and out of the garage.

So those are the main things, I could be mega fussy and point out some more but what's the point? I wish we'd read some of the reviews before booking as it definitely feels very intimidating if you wanted to complain and get your money back as another person has alluded to.

In a word then......appalling.

Hi everyone,

Just try to be very honest and objective.

The reviews on TripAdvisor and other sites were OK. That was one of the reasons to book this particular apartments. The quality/price combination was much more attractive rather than the concurrents around. We booked the property long in advance directly from the owner. Transferred the deposit of 30% for two apartments (no. 2 and no. 5) to the owners bank account.
First of all the pictures of the apartments provided on the web-site were slightly different from what we have seen.
The Apartments Nr. 5 was generally OK, but tiny, especially one of the bathrooms, which was like the lavatory in the plane. Kitchenette was also quite small but acceptable. The height of ceiling is under any critic, it simply too low for tall people. Generally the apartments are dark.
Now about the apartment Nr. 2 which we booked for the young couple with small kid 1 year old.
It was equipped with quite old furniture, old-style bathroom, and generally uncomfortable at all.
On top of that the entire apartments had extremely strong smell of the cigarettes, which was there for years, and we could not stand it!
There was NO sound isolation at all!!!
During the long evening we were hearing the huge noise from all neighbors around, including showers, sounds from the toilets, and children's laud screams till midnight. We were trying to get a sleep quite a long time. You can imagine, that for our 1 year old baby who used to sleep from 9.00 p.m. that was horrible!!!
Next morning we met the owner, Maria, who just explained us that she felt no any smell in the apartments, as she was a smoker herself! We asked to offer us another solution. But she did not even try to find it, just offered to change the bed linen.
Then we told her that we would rather check-out immediately, as we could not stay there any longer. We offered to the owner to pay for one night stay, including the final cleaning, for both apartments. In response the owner was VERY unpleasant, and tried to get the full amount for 7 nights stay! Of course we left to the hotel nearby and were absolutely happy not to hear any sound from the neighbors!
Maria did not agree to reimburse us the difference from the 30% deposit we already paid to them before arrival. Well, it was the most expensive night we ever paid in our experienced live!
In general I had an impression of being in some hostel...

I think if you have any other choice to stay, just consider it!

Response from Jlenia C, Responsabile reception at Residence Piz Da Cir
Responded 22 May 2014
First of all I would like to thank you for your review on Tripadvisor. In regard to your observations I would like to give some explanations to you and to the readers of this review. Our Residence is an apartment house, maybe not one of the newest but cared with love from our family during the last five years. It's our prerogative to keep everything very clean and to make it possible for our guests to feel the most comfortable in our house. Fortunatelly, the majority of the reviews confirm our visions and not only the reviews but also the fact that we can count a lot of regular guests visiting our house during the winter season and during the summer. We tried to solve all the requests you had asked, unfortunatelly it was not possible to offer you another type of apartment as the house was fully occupied, we propose you to change the lining and to clean the hangings (thing we do after every season)... Maybe, it's possible that people which stayed in the apartment before smoked, even if the apartments are non-smoking, but it should be common sense of everyone to keep the apartment as one had find it, unfortunatelly it's not possible to control every guest! The limit of noise acceptance in the evening is normally in every hotel 10 p.m., before it's not possible to pretend it! We would like to apologize for our unpleasant way to interact that you have perceived, finally, we only wanted to try to meet your requests and desires. we wish you all the best and hope to have the possibility to meet you again in the future, maybe in our Chalet La Flu. Best Regards Jlenia and all the Costner family
