I spent a week here as a participant in a program offered by my insurance and it was so worthwhile. The accommodations were basic, spacious and very comfortable. The food is also very good. They offer all kinds of programs for relaxation and health benefits; indoor / outdoor pool, sauna, steam room, plus outdoor activities and evening entertainment (country style- wink wink). It was great to walk out onto the sizable balcony and be surrounded by snowcapped mountains. I took walks in the woods, experienced the Kältekammer and met some wonderful people. I also made use of the Toilet Hocher! A nice addition to the bathroom. Was one of the best weeks of my life.

This year had been the third time that we sepnt one week here. The standard package contains a week of full board and then 14 therapies. Also two visits with a doctor and a blood exam are inclusive. Although the therapies are not frequent enough to bring about a real improvement of an ailment (Austrian citizens often get three weeks for free here, paid by their national health service - unthinkable in the UK!), it is still very pleasant to go around in a bathrobe and getting a massage or a therapeutic bath. All this accompanied by the freshly brewed infusions. Also, the food is excellent most of the time (one has always a choice of four dishes for each meal) and there is an outdoor and indoor swimming pool. Rooms are really beautiful and if you want to spend just fifty Euros more for a week, you should go for the suite, which is fabulous! The hotel is just 30 minute by car from Villach railway station (the hotel comes and picks you up or brings you there for free if you let them know in advance). Villach itself is only twenty minutes from the Italian border and, in the opposite direction, from the very pretty Lake Woerthersee, and, therefore, there are good possibilities for day trips. And, obviously, there are marvellous hikes in the woods or up the sorrounding mountains. And the staff at the restaurant, which comes mainly from Austria, Italy and Hungary, is most kind and helpful. Overall, a most relaxing experience which I would whole-heartedly recommend.

It is very difficult to find anything negative about this spa hotel! Three small negative points in front of the many positive points: the WiFi in the room is weak from time to time (main building 341), there is only music in the endurance training room from time to time, the weight room is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, and there are no herbal or fruit teas in the hallway on these days. That's all!

From now on everything is positive: the hotel looks freshly renovated, bright and friendly, the garage is free (if there is space). The rooms, all with balconies, are pleasant with lots of wood, and you immediately feel at home in the bathroom too.
The pool and sauna area deserves praise, as do all the therapeutic facilities.

Despite its size, the restaurant is cozy thanks to its subdivisions, the quality of the food varies between mediocre and excellent. The breakfast buffet is excellent for a four-star hotel! At lunch and dinner you can choose your menu from four options, and there is always a good salad buffet. There is an evening buffet once a week.

There are two dance evenings in the bar every week.

Finally, the staff: Due to good training and motivation, all employees, whether hotel or therapy, are competent, friendly and helpful. Our special thanks go to the spa doctor Dr. Ovidiu (four examinations in total), the therapists Sabrina and Andreas and our waitress Thalia!
They are all responsible for the three weeks of treatment flying by!
We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Die Zimmer im Haupthaus sind schöner, und die Wege zu den Therapien und zum Restaurant kürzer.

Large but excellently managed hotel: during the "New Year's Eve magic" everything always went "like clockwork", no waiting times, everything - from checking in to making appointments to the treatments - was extremely punctual. Attractive room with balcony and beautiful view, very clean, as a "premium room" with flowers, mineral water, coffee, tea, fruit and daily newspaper: it was worth it! Very good, healthy food with a choice of 4 menus, salad buffet, fast service, a special thank you to the always cheerful, warm Mrs. Durosa! Large wellness areas with various saunas (salt, aroma, Finnish, organic...), very pleasant relaxation areas and wonderfully warm outdoor and indoor pools. Even if the sun doesn't shine over the Dobratsch in winter: we enjoyed our stay VERY much, a big thank you to the whole team!
