Very friendly staff at check in - well appointed clean room with a large modern bathroom- the hotel is set out in the countryside with plenty of parking and not many rooms - so very quiet at night- there is an Italian restaurant and bar with outside and conservatory seating for better weather
Stayed here for 2 nights as it was close to Beamish museum. Room was clean and comfortable with free WiFi and a smart telly to keep the children entertained during the evening. Breakfast which was included was really nice with plenty of choice between continental and full English. We used the bar for one evening meal which again we had no problems with good food for a good price. Staff were friendly and helpful during our stay.
We have stayed here before a number of years ago,and always been pleased. The Moorings is now under new management and is even better than before!!! Ashleigh and her team cannot do enough for you,so pleasant and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is superb, accommadation very reasonably priced. The location is ideally situated to a visit to Beamish, and other local attractions. Would highly recommend.
The receptionist was very helpful and pleasant, even arranged a taxi. Room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good, personally could have eaten more, but that's me being piggy. Overall, a very good stay, and would stay there again
I took my daughter to the Moorings today for a well deserved catch up and lunch. The staff were amazing as was the food. My daughter requested something slightly different from the menu but the chef was more than happy to accommodate her request. Everything was clean inside and out. The only comment would be the tables were scratched and perhaps need varnished again. Hats off to the waiting staff and the chef for making our lunch so very enjoyable.
Booked in for 2nights B/B room was adequate house keeping lady lovely first morning no cooked breakfast apparently gas and Electric had gone off managed to get a coffee instead? No manager there to talk too no apologies no refunds so payed for a cooked breakfast I did not get it says breakfast is 9. to 10_30 but chef doesn't start until 9 so had to wait untill he cooked it it was lovely when it eventually arrived not a good experience
Emma and her staff cant do enough for you. We keep coming back. Great food. The breakfasts are exceptional. Friendly atmosphere good location for Durham, Beamish and surrounding area. Bedrooms are clean and tidy. Overall, great value for money.
There were Eight people in our party tonight for mine and my granddaughters birthday and everyone had something different to eat and we all enjoyed our food and had no complaints. The staff were very helpful and polite.
