As a family we booked four rooms. We were not disappointed. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Modern shower with plenty of hot water. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. All at a reasonable price and better than many more costly hotels. Thank you all for making our stay so relaxing and pleasant
Friendly hosts who were very accommodating (letting me store my bike in the room). Lovely country location, within driving (or cycling) distance to Tenby. Nice breakfast with vegan and gluten free options. Room (whilst small) was count for table and clean and all at a great price.
I booked a one night stay as part of a cycling tour of South Pembrokeshire. The owners of Portclew House answered my query about whether they had facilities to charge an ebike quickly, and on arrival I was shown where to store my bike. They found an extension lead for me when we discovered the cable of the charger was slightly too short, and later on lent me a USB plug when I found I had left one I needed at home. Breakfast was delicious. The room was comfortable, with a decent shower and the place quiet,
We stayed in the Coach house. Beautiful home and well equipped kitchen with everything you need, (note oven is a large one so needs a bit of time to preheat again totally fine, just wanted to give anyone with small oven heads up) . Netflix is available but you need to sign in under your own login which is totally fine. Good WiFi that you can get in every room. Beach is walking distance but there is a steep hill which is fine if your able. Nice comfortable living room with loads of space. Owners lovely and very accommodating and on hand if you need anything. I'd definitely recommend staying here. We've had such a lovely time.
This place is a gem. The check in was unattended but very simple. I stayed in a single room which, although small, was clean and comfortable and I had a great night’s sleep. Parking was also ample and the grounds are well kept. Breakfast was delicious and the coffee was very good. I had the vegetarian breakfast, which was very nice, although it could have been better if non-dairy milk or yoghurts were available for people with allergies or dietary preferences. The service was very efficient, whilst still being friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be returning to Portclew House!
Only stayed for one night but check in was painless and room was nice with great views, bed was big & comfortable with all other bits n Bob’s fine. Breakfast was tasty, plentiful and staff all great !! Parking was no bother either. Overall a short welcoming stay in a very friendly place. Thanks.
We stayed at Portclew House for 2 nights but wished it had been longer. Everything about this lovely guest house is superb. Our room (no. 5) was spacious with a very comfy bed, quality furnishings and a lovely view of the extensive lawn opposite. The breakfast was delicious and of very high quality, served by the friendly hosts. Everything about this place exceeded our expectations. You need to book this!
We only had a fleeting visit but were blown away by the property and location, couldn’t believe our luck. Breakfast was delicious good quality food and with a wide range of options. The hostess was so friendly, was so well organised and chatty. The room had amazing views of rolling hills and was very clean and comfortable. The house is close to the beach maybe 5-10 mins walk. We walked down to freshwater east and drank some wine and watched the sunset. Would definitely stay again without doubt!
Lovely place and the staff are so nice, breakfast is absolutely wonderful, plenty of choice and cooked well. We stayed for 3 nights in a room with a super king bed, all towels supplied and some complimentary toiletries. The room was clean and we were provided with tea, coffee, etc including biscuits, these were replenished every day. We had a pub about 10 mins away which was great for food in the evening. The surrounding area was lovely and we had a short walk to the beach, this was downhill and not good for people who don’t walk to well, but if you managed to get down to the beach it was very worthwhile. We visited Tenby, Saundersfoot and Pembroke all not far away by car, although there was a bus service a few minutes from away from Portclew House. Would highly recommend.
Lovely house, though our room (7) felt a bit like a storage facility with a Z bed as well as two superfluous singles. Dated wood dresser that would not look clean whatever you did to it. Window temperamental, difficult to open and variable ability to stay so! HOWEVER the nicest people you could wish to meet. Owner and the team in general all exceptional. Other guests also charming - we were lucky at the time of our stay to meet some fab people. Breakfasts superb. Great choice, attractively served and not ‘piled high’ in an off putting way. Would love to come back. Though reading other reviews would ask for room 5 or 6 next time .... Many Thanks
