We have visited the Iris for many years, stayed in various rooms both in what is known as the old part and the now completed new part.Every room is of a very high standard and tastefully decorated.The food served is also a high standard.We also regularly use the pontoon.Cannot praise the Iris and all the staff enough.Always made to feel welcome and they often go that extra yard.I should have done review ages ago ,but highly recommended the Iris.Nidri town has also changed greatly over the past few years and a pleasant place to visit within easy walking distance with a great choice of Tavernas and Restaurants.

We stayed in the hotel in a lovely room, very clean, luxurious and comfortable. Great value too. Good food and pleasant, helpful staff. We'd highly recommend. A convenient stopover when sailing the Ionian. We'll be back!

Just returned from a magnificent sailing holiday where we stayed for our second week at the beautiful Iris Hotel. We stayed in room 2 with a lovely sea and pool view..the staff Effy, Kristoff, Archie and Fanos are the heartbeat of this beautiful hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and we are already missing them so much. Will definately be returning to this gem

This a fabulous place. The rooms are spacious, very clean and air conditioned. The owners and staff really make this place very special. They are so friendly and helpful and take a genuine interest in the people that stay here. The food is also excellent, supported by very friendly, prompt and effective service. The new part of the hotel is one of the best places I ever saw in Greece. Spacious room, swim up pool, nice view and the best staff ever. The owners are always there to help and they really want to make sure you have a great time! You can rent boats at the hotel, a nice bar, food is reasonable quality (better then most hotels) and location is good. 10-15min walk to the boulevard. I really can recommend this place if you want to relax and enjoy this beautiful island!

We held our wedding here and everything was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was fantastic and the venue perfect. We also stayed for two nights and the room was spectacular with a huge bed, a balcony overlooking the sea, a kitchen area and a lovely bathroom. The whole hotel is spotless and boasts two beautiful swimming pools with free sun loungers. The poolside service is excellent with friendly and obliging staff. The food is really good and very reasonably priced. Christos and Evanthia, the owners, are very helpful and friendly. The also rent out small motor boats, which we took one for a day and it was a perfect day out. Highly recommend this fantastic hotel.

On a months backpacking trip around the Ionian islands we found this hotel - booked for 3 nights and stayed for 5 - that’s how much we loved it. We had to get to Corfu for a flight home so pushed on but I now wish we had spent our extra days at Iris. (Yes Effie, Corfu wasn’t that great, as I suspected, after all!) The owners and staff are brilliant in every way. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous. Luxurious linen, top end bathroom and seafront balcony. Food was excellent, pool sublime. We absolutely loved our stay here - by far the best hotel we had on our whole trip - and one of the cheapest. It’s a short stroll to Nydri - which I was a bit hesitant about as had read it’s a Brit resort - but it’s very very nice with great restaurants on the beach in the evenings and a very chilled vibe. The views across the harbour, waters and mountains from hotel and Nydri itself are exquisite. Lots of island day boat trips leave Nydri so it’s very handy location. The island of Lefkas is as beautiful as Kefalonia and Zakynthos and you could happily spend a week here and return home having experienced Greece. Don’t bother with Corfu. Oh, and hotel has a washing machine you can use which was the icing on the cake for me! Don’t hesitate - book it and enjoy. We will return one day for sure. …

What a fantastic small-scale hotel this is with a delicious breakfast and a beautiful location. The new rooms were now completely finished and look great. The new (second) swimming pool is also very nice and always room so that no towels are placed. There is a very nice bar. The most striking thing was the enormous hospitality, cosiness and humor of the owners Christos and Effie and also Leela and Archie who made our holiday complete. Also a big compliment for the cleaning ladies, they were all very friendly. The Hotel is a 10-minute walk from the cozy Nidri where there are very nice restaurants and shops and the people are very friendly there too. Renting a boat is definitely recommended, you can also do this at the hotel itself.
