Before i start Ladies bring your own hair drier and although the hotel does provide one free in the room they are not great and it would take a while to dry your hair.
Onto the hotel the staff are really friendly and helpful and will do their best to help with any issues but a big plus with this hotel is aircon is free.
Safety deposit boxes are chargeable but are really cheap to hire.
The rooms are a reasonable size and there was plenty of storage room and many of the rooms have a side sea view due to the way the hotel has been built.
Balcony is okay size and had nice view of the sea and mountains and bathroom was big enough too.
The shower had a mind of its own but i managed to tame it after a couple of days and it was fine but could probably do with updating.
There was always hot water and the wifi was very good too, also rooms are cleaned every day but please note the cleaners do come in quite early so if you want a lie in use the do not disturb sign.
I personally found the beds comfy but that is me and everyone is different breakfast was good with a fair choice of food eggs, sausage, greek yoghurt, toast, honey, cake, cereal, fruit, juices.
The pool area is really nice and there is a nice cocktail bar which is very popular in the evening.
The hotel is in a nice quiet location about a 10 minute walk from the centre of town .
The hotel did not seem to have any access for wheel chair users and i would say it would not be suitable if you were a wheel chair user.
As in previous reviews people have said certain aspects of the hotel could do with upgrading but these things are not deal breakers and are not enough to ruin your holiday.
The hotel was really clean and i really enjoyed my stay that much i would go back tomorrow and in fact i plan to visit again in 2023.

The hotel is perfectly positioned looking out to the stunning turquoise sea. We were lucky enough to have a pool view room which looked to the sea as well. The staff were lovely and the breakfast adequate it us more continental but this didn't bother us. The rooms are a little tired and after a few nights the beds were a little uncomfortable. The shower is so small and the curtain just sticks to you but there was plenty of hot water, not that you needed it as it was over 30 degrees 1st June.
Plenty of restaurants and shops 5 mins walk. If you continue walking to the bottom of the harbour you come across the beach and beach club, walk through there and you come to a lovely beach with restaurants directly behind you. It was 10 euro for 2 beds and an umbrella, we loved it here and was perfect for a relaxing holiday. We took the ferry to Meganisi 1.90 euro pp as foot passengers well worth it altho the hill is a killer in the heat. Beautiful beach and restaurant.

I spent a week on Athos Hotel. It’s classified as a 2 star hotel, but I definitely feel this is good value. Don’t expect luxury, but you get everything you need. What really makes this good value is the excellent service from the owner at the reception, the daily and food cleaning and the friendly waiters at the snack bar. I would definitely come back to Athos for the good service.

Pro tip: If you get one of the rooms with number 249-252 you also get a very nice sea view from the balcony.

We stayed here at the beginning of August for ten nights. Firstly this is in an ideal location if you do not have transportation as is close to the harbour, restaurants and shops (about 5 minute walk).
We were given a room on the ground floor by reception which was great as no stairs. I had a bad back and even though the mattress wasn't bad, I asked for a mattress topper which was fitted within the hour. We actually ended up sleeping better than we did at home, so please don't be put off by bad reviews of the beds.
Effi, one of the owners was mostly on reception, and always very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was fine. The lady always working at breakfast (so sorry, forgot your name) was always friendly and would always cook my eggs over easy for me when asked. The yoghurt, fruit, eggs etc were more than enough to set you up for the day.
The pool was great. Loved that there is a proper deep end. Sunbeds were OK. Only negative opinion we have is that the hotel allows non guests to use the pool, who are mostly people staying in the own boats. Some reserve sunbeds/umbrellas then go off for the day, so only using them later on in the afternoon. There were also a couple of families from a boat who just left their kids on their own in the pool all day. They were so noisy, unsupervised and really had no consideration for the rest of the people trying to relax. After a couple of days they were told to leave by the hotel, but I think this did spoil our enjoyment of our pool days somewhat. Of course children make noise and it's great to see them enjoying themselves but this was more than that, and they weren't even guests.
Really enjoyed the lunchtime food and ice-cold beers. Thank you Maria for looking after us and always with a smile.
Yannis is a great barman who airways remembered our drinks, gives service with a smile and has the most adorable sons. Thanks for our evening ice buckets 🙂
At the entrance to the hotel is the Tree Bar. Had a couple of fun (late) nights there. The barman plays the music you want to hear and great to meet so many different people from all walks of life. Played "Spin the Wheel" a couple of times, so funny but not good if you don't like mixing your drinks lol!
In all, a great hotel with lovely staff. I would return if ever we return to Nydri.

The hotel is in a lovely spot. Lovely clean rooms and lovely balconies. Staff are always friendly. Only reason for the average score is the food and drink were a little expensive and that great. Shame really as we would’ve eaten there for lunch most days if it were good and reasonably priced. Most days we went into the harbour area which was often cheaper and much nicer food and surroundings. Also I have to comment on the facilities to be able to shower and change after check out for a late flight. The hotel was very busy so we couldn’t keep the room on and we had a late flight out. We were simply told to shower downstairs and leave bedroom towels down there. There were no locks as we could see or signs to say male or female and the showers were in the same room as the toilet which was being used all day by hotel guests. Really not pleasant at all to the point we booked a room over the road at another hotel to have a nice clean shower and get changed.

Nice little place at the far end of town more of a marina to the front than a beach. A few bars here but a 5 minute walk to the restaurants on the front and a bit more to the best beaches. The hotel itself has a decent free breakfast with good coffee which you can use your own refillable cups for up until 10. Quiet place with the only problem being a Brit neighbour getting drunk a couple of times and having a barny with his wife, you know who you are. Pool good size but not a lot of room for beds so could be a problem in the summer. Good value for us.

We stayed for a week at the Athos, and absolutely loved it. Small and friendly, with beautiful views and just at the edge of town, so peaceful too.
Staff were lovely and starting or ending the night at the friendly little tree bar is a must.
I accidentally left a ring in the room safe and the hotel staff kindly recovered it and posted it back to me.
Breakfast is very samey but apart from that this hotel has it all, and in my opinion should have a higher star rating.
The photo is the gorgeous view from our balcony.
Air con is included and very welcome!
Nidri is a lovely resort, packed with bars and plenty of restaurants where you can eat on the beach at night. Boat trips are plentiful and watersports available.

Room
Basic clean and comfortable. No complaints especially for the great price.
Small fridge provided is a great bonus.
You have to pay to use the safe in the room (€1 per day). We didn’t have a problem with this.
We did ask for extra pillows for the bed which were provided without any issues.
Shower is very small and it took a minute to find a way to use it but once you’ve got the knack it’s fine.
Rooms are cleaned daily to a great standard.

Breakfast
Basic and tasty. Toast, fresh fruit juices, fried eggs, small sausages, cereals and more including delicious yogurt and honey. Just enough to set you up for the day.

Staff
Really hard working, small and friendly team.
Always greeted with a smile and so on the ball.

Pool
The pool area is nice and relaxed. We didn’t spend much time there as it was too hot (expected in Greece in June)! But the beach is exactly 10 minutes walk down the road and the sea is lovely to swim in.
Lots of bars with sun beds and really relaxed atmosphere.

Other notes
There’s a charming book library next to reception which is open for taking / exchanging books in lots of languages - useful if you forget your holiday read!

This hotel is in a perfect position for the local vibrant high street and marina where there's plenty going on to please everyone young and older. I can understand why it's rated only 2* but its very close to a 3 star plus. A few maintenance issues that can be easily solved eg. Peeling wallpaper, replacement of light bulbs in communal areas etc. Perhaps a few more pictures in the hallwsys and bedrooms would be nice. The family owners are very welcoming and friendly, pool is the largest on the marina strip and the room was clean, basic and fresh. Everything was working correctly including air- con, so it really is a perfect 2 star hotel pushing 3. Except the big elephant in the room, which had been pointed out on previous reviews but wanted to see for myself.... the mattresses! They really are as bad as stated with the springs digging into our backs - on our at least. I would hope the management will address this problem soon with either new mattresses or thick decent toppers.

Question is would I come back to this hotel ABSOLUTELY as it got so much going for it... would I come back knowing the mattresses are the same.. ABSOLUTELY NOT. My back wouldn't be able to take it sorry. Still a great little hotel though

Stayed at Athos for 8 nights, rooms are really basic could do with a little colour just to brighten them up although seemed to be freshly decorated. Personally didn’t like the shower curtain, think a screen would be better. Having said that, breakfast was fine, great location to bars, restaurants and shops with stunning views and pool area was lovely and overall a very clean hotel . Staff friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely stay.

Its very close to this hotel a short walk along the marina and there is a booth that is manned and tickets can be bought. Probably best to go there of an evening.
