The Good: Pleasant rooms, great air conditioning, good location and an ok breakfast. The Bad: Service is hit and miss, great staff, grumpy owners. The Ugly: Absolutely not the place to go as a couple to relax, lots of screaming and sometimes naked children running around the place and lots of dive bombing in the unsupervised pool. It isn't 4 star by normal standards, but more likely rated as such for Greek holiday tax purposes.

Great location. Near marina and main shopping area. Numerous restaurants nearby. Mostly Greek and Italian. All similar prices. Some lovely beach bars and restaurants nearby too. Supermarket opposite. Good sized studio with four poster bed, settee, kitchenette, TV and balcony overlooking pool. Very friendly Receptionist. Cleaning and breakfast staff are lovely. Owners/Managers not as friendly unfortunately, although quite chatty on our departure asking if everything had been OK! Breakfast was a bit chaotic at times. Plenty of choice, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, breads, cakes and cooked items as well as cheese, meats, olives etc. The design of the room however makes it difficult to get to the food items and between tables. Pool was freezing. Sunbeds right outside guest's rooms, which felt a little awkward. Always managed to get a sunbed though. Didn't see any beds being reserved with towels. Bar slightly overpriced. However, would definitely stay here again if holidaying in Nidri.

Firstly I must say this hotel is not a 4 star hotel or 3.5 star as Jet 2 state. We stayed in the older main hotel overlooking the pool from first floor. Nice room - very clean and spacious studio with four poster bed. Bathroom was very modern in style but lacking toiletries - only liquid soap. The pool was very cold as in the shade until mid morning. Then again hotel rules say you cannot go into the pool until 10.00 a.m. and definitely after two hours after eating. Sunbeds were located outside people's apartments and it felt awkward to use them sometimes. The indoor bar area edged the pool but was frequented most of the day by the Greek Manager and some of the male staff. Our main issue was with the breakfast area - separate building on the second floor in a narrow long room with one large window open only so became quite warm and extremely noisy. Tables were crammed together and really difficult to squeeze between. There was a real problem with the layout of the buffet and the need to go to one end of the room to get plates, cutlery and cups and then walk the length of the room to get your cooked breakfast. bypassing others as you do so. There was only one coffee machine which was quite temperamental. There was no change to breakfast choice at all - juice, fruit - watermelon, grapes and orange, continental - cheese, ham & salami, boiled eggs, olives, cooked - bacon, frankfurter sausage, solid scrambled egg, baked beans and ratatouille. Toast and sponge cake. It was totally chaotic and we went out for breakfast for half of the time. There is no interaction with any of the staff and tables are not cleared at all.

A really nice hotel, great room with fridge, halogen cooking plate, cutlery & crockery. Room serviced daily, new towels etc and the whole place is very clean, and also looks fairly freshly decorated. There's a few separate sections, 2 pools and a bar. Good breakfast buffet daily from 8am to 10am. Nice staff too. I normally stay in pension style accommodation, this was definitely a step up. Great value and I'd happily stay here again.

Absolutely fabulous… so much so we are 100% going back next year! There was 3 couples and we had our 1 year old son with us. We stayed bed and breakfast and we got total value for money. Our rooms were all ground floor in the new part of the hotel at the back (f13, f15 & f16). We were right opposite the baby pool which was great for us. The room was very spacious, very very clean (serviced every day by a lovely lady who always had a chat with us and was really nice) We had small cooking area with kettle cooker top and fridge with small freezer compartment. There was dish detergent and cleaning cloth supplied. Also hand soap supplied in the bathroom (wet room) that had lots of space to store toiletries and beach towels and a large mirror with lights good for applying makeup! The room had a flat screen tv, air con and safe we did not have to pay extra for any of these amenities!! and lots of draws and good size wardrobe for you to store clothing. Because we had a baby with us we had lots of extra stuff- large pram car seat and toys and there was plenty of space in the room. The travel cot we were supplied with was brilliant because it basically doubled up as a play pen and we pulled it to over to the large sliding doors that opened up onto our patio area, (it has a fly screen to prevent bugs coming in if you want to leave your doors open) during the day the baby could watch the other kids playing in the pool from the travel cot when we were having lunch (it was a godsend tbh) the sheets on this as was the bed were changed daily. There was also a large couch in the room that doubled as a pull out bed. The main bed in the room was very comfortable (me and my partner are plus size and it was very spacious!)with extra pillows supplied. The patio area outside the room had 2 couches and a table which was nice for us to sit out and have lunch (there are bakery’s dotted up and down the main road of the resort so we used to grab a baguette and a pastry and a drink and it only cost us €10 per day for lunch for both of us) The view from our room of the mountains was breathtaking it was so lovely to sit and chill on our patio. You also have this wonderful view from the breakfast room. There are 2 pool’s absolutely spotless cleaned every evening, the whole hotel is spotless tbh and the staff work very hard all day and all night and they are really friendly, all speaking good English and the girl on reception will help with anything you need. The bar prices are good too not over priced and all branded spirits. The bay that the resort is in is phenomenal- scenery amazing- good for families and people with mobility probs as it’s flat to walk around. Loads of authentic Greek restaurants with amazing food- average we paid per meal €50 (2 starters, 2 mains 2 cokes 2 beers) Take away giro places are cheap as chips and food is gorgeous… sad to be home. Thanks for a lovely stay we will be returning to you for years to come, see you in 2024!

Really nice clean Hotel in a good location. We were in the newer block at the back, it was a deluxe maisonette. Nice size balcony with good furniture. Views to the pool and mountain beyond. Breakfast at the hotel was fine a good variety of cereal, bacon, sausage, cheese etc. Ladies who cleaned the rooms were friendly. We thought the owners were a bit miserable. We liked the bakery just down the road from hotel called ‘my bakery ‘ the one next to the hotel sold ice cream, fancy chocolate and cream cakes. The Nidri waterfalls were well worth a visit, we called at a nice restaurant on the way back, can’t remember the name, it was on a sharp bend, food was good, you didn’t get chips with everything like you do in most places we ate at. Meganisi was also nice €1.70 on the ferry.

I dont think we could of chosen a better place to stay for our Holiday, Well Kept and maintained , central location, couple of minutes walk to the seafront and similar walk to town with a massive choice of places to eat and drink, quiet enough to enjoy a great nights sleep too, The hotel has a very chilled atmosphere with friendly staff and managers, we stayed in D22 which is the older block of apartments ,apparently more spacious than the new block at the rear, kept immaculate by the lovely housekeepers who also run the breakfast buffet in the mornings, We found the breakfast selection to be very good with everything from cereals,Fruit and yoghurt and all things healthy to a hot breakfast with bacon eggs, sausage beans etc, We arrived a week before the crazy high temperatures and on our last few days it was 40c plus everyday, Air Con was needed and it was complimentary along with the safe box in the wardrobe, Theres a very handy supermarket directly opposite the hotel, fantastic dessert and coffee shop next door which we would recommend, free WiFi was great to have but a little patchy now and again, If you hire a car theres also a car park at the rear just for guests, Nidri is a great base to explore Lefkada, The Stunning scenery and beaches will blow you away along with the super blue turquoise ionian sea, Dont miss Egremni Beach, Porto Katsiki,Syvota,Nidri Waterfalls and Lefkada Town, we would also recommend the seven islands boat tours, there are many boats in the marina offering similar days out,we didnt experience any rush for sunbeds as we were off out most days, we will return to Lefkada and we will go back to Captain Stavros

Booked Captain Stavros for a week, 4 of us in total (husband, 2 children 17 and 10). We booked a deluxe studio (in the newer part of the hotel) which had enough space for us all plus the vast amount of luggage that we brought! Room had a little compact kitchen area with fridge/hob/kettle if needed. Very airy/clean overlooking the pool (which is illuminated at night). I think all the rooms have a balcony which is just lovely Good size bathroom/shower/clean towels etc Comfy bed, children shared a sofa bed which was big enough Breakfast was okay though I think a bit more of a variety could work (maybe croissants/pan au choc/better jam selections), there are however numerous wonderful bakeries nearby and a supermarket literally opposite the hotel which sells everything! Pool area is lovely, very clean open from 10am-8pm you can rent towels (5 euro?) for a week but we ended up buying a couple from the store instead. You are not supposed to 'reserve' sun beds but most people do but we always managed to find a few vacant each day Location is great, very central to the beautiful waterside/great restaurants/shops etc, mountain ranges behind the hotel are just stunning. We also took an island cruise (lots to choose from, we went with Ionian Star who were amazing) Hotel staff are lovely, (there is no-one on the front desk overnight) So much beauty to see in the area, we will just need to come again...!

We had an excellent stay at the Captain Stavros and we will definitely be returning. We stayed in a modern maisonette, plenty of space, lovely spacious balcony with view of the pool and mountains, useful little kitchenette and very comfortable beds. The hotel is very clean throughout and the staff are very helpful and friendly - Hara on reception is an absolute star. Breakfast is plentiful with lots of choice eg scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, cold meats, cheeses, cereals, yogurt, choice of breads and plenty of fresh tea and coffee. The 2 swimming pools are lovely and big and fantastic for all ages. We were always able to find sunbeds round the pool. The hotel is in a fab location: supermarket opposite, patisserie next door, bakeries and best gyro shop called Stathis very close by. The marina is a one minute walk away and the beach is 5 mins away. Beach is beautiful- warm, clear water. We used the sun-beds at the Island beach bar (€8 for 2). Plenty of restaurants to eat at all very well priced. Would also recommend the boat trips available at the marina too. Take a trip to Lefkada town (buses opposite the church). The hotel is fab and Nydri is a really pretty town with lots to see and great places to eat.
