Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge is a boutique offshore tropical island sport fishing lodge located on Isla Parida in the Gulf of Chiriqui, Panama. Fly into the city of David, in the Chiriqui Providence, travel by boat 12 miles off the Pacific coastline and you will find Isla Parida....an untouched jungle paradise that is a protected national park. Our private island lodge is inside Panama's Gulf of Chiriqui National Marine Park and is truly "off the grid." No roads, no concrete, just jungle and white sand beaches. Sportfishing, snorkeling, sea kayaking, hike, or just hang out on one of our deserted beaches. Sportfishing here in the Gulf of Chiriqui is legendary! Black Marlin and Yellowfin Tuna are encountered offshore at Hannibal Bank, Coiba, and Isla Montuosa all only minutes away. Inshore prey such as Cubera Snapper and Roosterfish are caught in the water right in front of the lodge! We specialize in an upscale sportfishing experience with great food, personalized service, accommodations, and highly maintained boats and equipment.

Captain Shane's Panama Island Lodge exceeded expectations in every way. Both captains and first mates have great energy out on the water. The boats are quiet and clean as they have 4 stroke outboards, not the noisy diesel inboard engines that I have always fished on in the past. The boats are tri hulls so they are very stable. The staff on the island is very friendly and polite. The dinners at night were amazing and a highlight of the trip. The chef made lobster, conch, shrimp, sushi from the tuna we caught, sea food pizza, ribs and on and on. The lodges are very nice and clean and air conditioned with wifi and smart TV's. For once in my life I actually caught some huge fish out on the ocean. You will not be disappointed, if you book a trip with this company.

The Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge gives the word “glamping” a new meaning, ladies!! Accompany your husband on this amazing trip and give a hand a catching a tuna or rooster fish. To be on an island that specialize in fishing, the lodge is highly maintained, the food is delish, and the staff is very professional. There is a possibility you could gain a few pounds from partaking in the well-prepared food and the top shelf bar as anglers share their long fish tails from their day on the high sea. Upon arrival at the lodge after riding a plane, van, and a boat, we received a briefing with a lot of valuable information. Due to being exhausted from the lengthy travels, I could not remember all the information from the briefing. My recommendation is to have a Smart Sheet in the rooms or on the door with important information for the anglers i.e., process to request laundry service, how to obtain new towels, mealtimes, etc. Remember to familiarize yourself with “Panama time”—everything is not always on-time, but it is on time. Being in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, I highly recommend Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge for your next fishing expedition. Of note, Carlos is an excellent Mate you will hook you a fish, gaff the fish, fillet the fish and cheer you on as you work to get your fish to the goat…POUND IT OUT….BOOM!!!!

Shane and his team at Sport Fish Panama Lodge deliver a top notch stay and experience from start to finish. I recently visited with a group and my only wish was that I could have stayed longer. Shane and his team of captains and mates put us right on the fish - everything from Black and Blue Marlin to huge Yellowfin Tuna and even Rooster fish. Their World Cat boats make for a comfortable and dry ride even if the wind/seas kick up a bit and all of their gear/tackle were in great condition. Once back on shore, Eddie, Steve and the team in the lodge itself had our rooms always cooled, clean and comfortable and the food - oh man the food. Eddie and his crew know how to cook and his energy is amazing. I look forward to coming back again sometime soon!

Top notch guides, top notch amenities, top notch food, and top notch fishing. Can't find a single thing to complain about. Great people in an amazing location working their butt's off to put you on amazing fish then bring you home and feed you great food. Save some booking time for us to go back again and again, but otherwise do yourself a favor and go.

We flew into David, where were met by a very enthusiastic Capt Shane, a short ride to the marina, where we were met by 4 of the cleanest well kept boats, a nice ride to the Island, with a fully stocked cooler!.
We pulled up to the beach, a short walk up the path to our accomadations, wow are they awesome, clean, air conditioning running, fully stocked refrigerator. I won't bore you with all of the meals we ate, but will tell you that eveything we ate was absolutley top notch fantastic.
This place is run like a well oiled machine, Steve, the guy that gets things done, is a great atribute to the facility and will make sure you have all you need for your stay.
When you hear the term Tuna Frenzy, they are not kidding, the porpoise the birds and the tuna were crazy, Capt Shane never slowed down, worked his tail off for the entire day.
day two and three we fished with Capt Jonnie, huge tuna, and lots of them. Day four, back with Shane, we wanted to fish inshore to see what we coud find, it started with us catching bonita, then onto a favorite spot of Shanes, the whack was on! we boated Cuberra, Rooster fish, and Jacks, what an amazing day, we were very happy that we wrapped our fishing up with a day like that. This trip was by far the best adventure/ vacation I have ever experienced, Shane was fantastic, the entire operation was first class, and I would reccomend anyone that is considering fishing Panama to please give Shane and the Island a try.

I love going on fishing trips with my husband and have been all over the world with him. But I only go with him on the trips I can get some creature comforts at the lodge and this lodge had comfort. The food was fabulous. The rooms had great bug screens, wifi, modern decor, and AC. It is rare to see a remote lodge meet US building codes but this one did. Fishing was great here. Too great. The guides were so kind when I had challenges trying to bring up a tuna bigger than me. I had to take a day off to recoup while my husband kept going. I spent time reading, enjoying the fabulous view from our room and walking on an idyllic tropical beach. The staff was so kind and even made lunch for me. Being on a private, remote island during COVID was the most relaxing thing I've done since March. The whole trip was stress-free starting from being met at the gate in the Panama City airport by an English speaking guide. She escorted us through immigration and customs. The Hilton we stayed in before going to the island was 5 star. Shane also arranged some after-trips for us at our request back to Panama City. The Peacock bass fishing trip on one of the lakes was beautiful. I didn't have to do any of the planning. The people Shane hires all speak excellent English and are fond of Americans. This was absolutely the highlight of my life in the last year.

Sports Fish Panama Lodge is a world class operation on the edge of a phenomenal fishery. We caught 9 different species of fish over 2 ½ days. The boat and tackle were topnotch and the crew were passionate about putting us on fish. On our last day Captain Shane asked what we wanted to fish for. Joking around I told him “Blue Marlin and Sailfish in that order”. What did he deliver? Oddly enough a Blue Marlin followed by a Sailfish.

The lodge itself is absolutely perfect, very comfortable, clean, air conditioned, and a fully stocked self-service bar. We spent hours at night on the porch sharing quality family time while listening to the waves crash 30’ away.

The Chef must have been an Old Italian Grandmother in a previous life. The food he prepared was off the charts and he always made sure there was plenty of it. The meals are served family style where we had the pleasure getting to know other guests and Captain Shane.

Every aspect of Sports Fish Panama Lodge, from booking the trip, accommodations, and fishing is world class.

Thank you for the awesome memories my family will have forever!!

Shane has a first class operation going on. The lodge was clean with great views of the water. The food prepared by Eduardo was unbelievably delicious every morning and evening. Steve the lodge manager was always there if we needed something and the the captains and mates were fun to fish with. The tuna fishing was always good. They fish hard and never stop, run and gun all day. The world cat boats were clean and comfortable.
Hope to one day return and would recommend this little island of paradise to anyone.

This was a great experience. Everything was super easy and seamless from a travel perspective. We were immediately greeted at our gate by an assistant that expedited our customs process and led us to our dedicated driver in Panama City. The same driver took us to the airport the next day to travel to David where we were greeted by Shane, the owner, and taken to the island.

The island is amazing with no roads or cars. We had a private cabana and a chef that cooked for us and two other groups.

The fishing is incredible. We caught over 20 tuna, including an 80-pounder, in just a few hours of one day. We also caught (and released) all of the fish we had hoped for like cubera snapper, needle fish, and the elusive rooster fish.

Fantastic voyage to a magnificent resort with “ice-cold A/C” and fresh tuna meals available everyday, if wanted. The accommodations were stellar and no city lights anywhere in site so the stars were amazing.

Fishing was off the charts with a wide variety of Rooster fish approximately 50lbs and Cubera snapper as well as African Pompano being caught when not chasing huge Yellowfin Tuna! Our tuna weighed in from 25lbs to 165lbs and all in between.

The captains were extremely professional and the mates created An environment for every angler. Each day was filled with great conversations and excellent meals prepared by a true chef.

The boats were 33’ catamarans whic made riding a pleasure whether or not we had rain/sunshine/wind or calm.

A must do for a lifetime adventure to remember…
