We stayed at Lotus Garden Huts for 4 days and nights and we really enjoyed it. The huts are air conditioned and there is an outdoor bathroom. There was a beautiful pool and day beds to relax on by the pool. The gardens/grounds were well kept and lots of beautiful tropical plants. It is located a short 100m walk from Secret beach where you can swim and do a bit of snorkelling. It is walking distnace to Mushroom beach without being as busy as those big resorts. You can rent a scooter and go for day trips around the Island or visit Nusa Ceningan. The staff were incredible! Nyoman had quite good English and was always willing to help in whatever way he could. We wanted to attend a local Christian church and when we gave him some contact details he was able to use them to find a church on the island and find out all the information we needed.

Clean and quiet traditional Balinese huts lovingly maintained by Kadek, Putu and family. Huts air conditioned, with own balcony. Our hut (3) was more elevated with around 10 steep steps up to the bedroom and then down to the adjacent outdoor private ensuite. Not much hot water but not really required in tropical heat. Simple breakfast included, but really enjoyed their wonderful lunches of tradition meat vegetables and rice for around $5 AU.

Nice simple bungallows with ac and mosquito net. We stayed in the wooden bungallows, stairs going in and stairs to a nice open-roof bathroom. Staff was very laid-back and very pollite. Pretty little garden with swimming pool our kids used a lot! Short walk to small secret beach( bit of a climb) and very close to Mushroom beach with restaurants. Lovely place for relaxing. I’d recommend.

We decided to treat ourselves and pay slightly more than usual for a nice, comfortable experience.Unfortunately, it was anything but. Not listed in order of importance but here were some of the problems. A) The hot water was sporadic to say the least. We had to mention it on at least four separate occasions. B) The water pressure was erratic and came in bursts, imagine someone sneezing on you; not dissimilar.   C) There was only one socket for the entire room so if you want to bicker with your room mate about who gets to charge what and when then this is for you. D) The "large double bed" was in fact two singles pushed together, the gap down the middle made it impossible to sleep close together but if you've been bickering this may not be so much of a problem (see point C) E) the lighting was incredibly poor, the bed side light was broken and the overhead lights were very dim. At least we got the camping experience by using our head torches to read our books. E) The towels were threadbare and discoloured. Honestly, my mum uses nicer ones to defrost her freezer. (Please see exhibit A in the photos) F)BED BUGS We stayed in bungalow 5. I cannot say that they are in any of the other bungalows, they may have none of the above issues but unfortunately we left with company. We were both bitten pretty badly. I contacted the property through booking.com to advise them, no response. I also emailed them as I really want them to address the issue. Still no response. I'm not getting the impression they're tripping over themselves to do anything about it. Positives: in the interest of fairness I will mention some positives. It's in a good location, a short walk to mushroom bay (don't be put off that the walk is through a rubbish dump, it just makes it worth while 😆). There's a nice yoga school and some really nice places to eat nearby.

We chose because of price & proximity to the beach but we were surprised upon arrival. We had booked for three nights and stayed our first night in an original thatch & bamboo hut but it had a very comfortable bed with A/C and outside bathroom (no ceiling) for star gazing in the shower. The owner Kadek was just finishing two brand new huts and amazed us with an offer to move in for the last two nights as there were no other customers. We participated in a Balinese ceremony with the entire extended family to welcome the new huts. We couldn't believe our luck, these are spectacular for "huts" with A/C, mini fridge, plenty of hot water if your inclined and a pool out your door. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner with our beautiful hosts and breakfast included the best eggs I can remember. The beach is few minutes away down a trail and restaurants, bars and beach amenities are all there if you wish. We booked a snorkeling trip with Kadek and his grandpa took us out in his fishing boat. Snorkeling with mantas, bamboo sharks and some beautiful scenery (Mt. Agung at dawn) and ocean adventure. He arranged for a 4 seat golf cart instead of scooters but be aware of very narrow, steep, iffy roads, left hand driving and lots of trucks, drunk tourists etc. ATM's are available at the tourist centers but they may be out of cash fairly regularly, VISA accepted almost everywhere.

Room Tip: All are great but the two new huts are exceptional for this style of hotel.
