I'm quite amused by some of the negative reviews here, with people complaining about insects. Giving a hotel one star because it is on a tropical island/jungle and has insects is hilarious to me... I had a great 2 night stay at this hotel, the room was spotless, the swimming pool tranquil, and the gardens beautiful. I love hotels with outdoor bathrooms, and i found the staff to friendly and efficient from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. I also really enjoyed the breakfast. The location is just a few minutes walk from the beach, but be warned, it is remote and at night you will need a motorbike/scooter if you wish to go out.. In summary, a great stay, incredible value for money, and I look forwarding to staying at this hotel again next time I am on Lembongan....

We stayed at the property for 4 nights during the Christmas week. We selected the property for its high rating (rated #4 on TA) and great price (was definitely not great after our experience). Our experience over 4 nights left us clueless on how could the property get rated #4 on TA. We highlight why we feel so: While the property is located close to Dream Beach and Devils Tears, the property seems completely secluded. There are literally no street lights for the first 250 meters around the property. You would need to carry a torch everytime you step out of the property after sunset. The approach road is not in good condition either. The air-conditioning was the worst we have experienced in our current trip to Bali. It was impossible to feel the air conditioning unless you are directly sitting in the line of the air flow. There are far too many gaps in the main door which let the hot air in. You will never feel cool in the room unless it is late evening time. Afternoon times are the worst. It is super hot outside and you want to come back to your room and cool down. Sorry that does not happen here. Possible going from a frying pan outside to fire inside. The real test of the infrastructure built by the any hotel is when a disaster strikes. On one of the nights when we were sleeping there was a power failure (we were informed that a electrical pole collapsed) and we spent atleast a hour without electricity. The next day when we returned in the afternoon from our snorkelling trip, the management switched on the generator but informed us that they would have to shut it down at intervals to ensure that it would not malfunction due to heavy load. This meant atleast another hour of no electrictiy in mid afternoon. It is clear that the management has cut corners to save on costs. So the room prices are low for a REASON. The property has a concept of open bathroom but it means a lot of insects visiting you. Each morning there would be a lot of dead insects on the floor. Some may not mind that but for us it was not a pleasure to see dead insects first thing in the morning. Do not book any tours with the hotel - be it snorkelling or day trips to Nusa Penida. They have a mark up fee of anywhere between 40-70%. We only rented a scooter from them as it was convenient. The sink water is slightly salty and it certainly wasn't pleasant brushing your teeth. We used packaged drinking water. The breakfast was basic but fresh. We did not try lunch or dinner at their restaurant though. Nusa Lembongan is a great place to spend 3-4 nights with a day trip to Nusa Penida, a half day trip to Nusa Ceningan. We will definitely return to Nusa Lembongan but not to The Cubang Hut's Lembongan for sure.

In theory this could be the perfect spot for a tranquil, relaxing stay on Nusa Lembongan. In practise this place is not to recommend as there is heavy renovation/construction work going on for a new restaurant right next to the bungalows. Works start 9m and finish in the afternoon without interruption. The onsite management of the property lacks experience of dealing with inquiries which go beyond the usual check-in/check-out. In fact, I had issues in getting an invoice uponò checking-out. Highlight is the the location 5min away from Dream Beach even though there are much bett.er beaches on this beautiful island. Another word of caution for the 'open bathroom' concept of the bungalows. You might get a pet for your stay for free to share your decent breakfast with. The clear highlight of the place before 9am, i.e. the construction work starts. Other than that not to recommend unfortunately.

Wow what a beautiful birthday treat. The Cubang Huts was just perfect. The staff were so helpful and made our stay very comfortable. The huts are very comfortable and we couldn’t of asked for more. A lovely little treat to chill. The attraction Devils Tears is only a 5 min walk away

We had a really nice stay at Chubang Huts and there’s little to fault - only a few minor things. The towels weren’t changed (they were left on the floor), the shower was quite cold and the sink water was slightly saltier too so wasn’t pleasant brushing your teeth. The breakfast was served on the balcony, but wasn’t the best we’ve had during our Bali trip, although nothing wrong with it either. We slept really well here, although were woken during the night by wildlife, like (really loud!) frogs. We didn’t mind this though, we enjoyed hearing them. The huts are in a great location, close to Mushroom Bay Beach which was our favourite and 15 mins drive from the other beaches, including those you scuba dive/snorkel from (which you MUST do!!). We rented a moped from the huts and they were really competitive on pricing (50k for the half a day we arrived and 70k for the others). We absolutely loved Nusa Lembongan and didn’t want to leave. Whilst not our favourite hotel, it didn’t matter hugely as we loved the island so much. And the pool was nice for our downtime. There are nicer hotels but for the price you pay, you can’t complain really! Cheap and cheerful. Would recommend if you’re looking for a cheaper option, whilst exploring this beautiful place.
