Manicured, immaculate hotel spread over several buildings, off-season trip so all the outdoor pools were closed. Fortunately, all the rooms faced the ocean, mine (221) had a good view of the coastline and crashing waves.
Unlike other parts of Okinawa where I saw cute shaggy headed tattooed gals and guys, here even the hand sanitizer bottles at reception were swaddled in “suits”.
The beach was a curving sweep of golden sand that was annoying closed and had hideous industrial equipment on it, google earth gave me a good idea of what it is supposed to look like normally. With pretty much everything closed, I went for an early dinner at Aomi, had an irresistible kaiseki that reminded me of everything I love about Japanese cuisine. It was a nice stay, but not perfect.

We stayed here as a family of four, two adults and two children. When you enter, there is a security guard standing there and you will be asked if you are staying there! From now on, there will be a paper with "Halekulani" written on it at the front of the car, and you can pass it. When you arrive, you get off the car and leave it there, and when you go out, the system is that the car is brought to the front. The parking fee was 1,500 yen per day. In conclusion, it was very clean and clean, and the service was very good!
Since my child is small, I borrowed a stroller and a baby bed. It was Aprica.
No matter where you take a picture, it is a picturesque place, and there were many people who asked if they would like to take a picture! The signal "Yes, Halekulani😊" was very heartwarming ✨ The view from the room was the best, and I stayed on the third floor, but I could see the beautiful sea. I wanted to see Diamond Head from the mountain I could see 😁 It was cute to see the robot mowing the lawn from the room! When you drink a drink in the room, you write it on a paper and pay at the time of check-out. Every time the bed was made, the accessories were cute, and they added new shampoos and other things. The bed was not too hard or too soft, and was very comfortable. However, I wish they had made the baby bed as well. There are three types of breakfast to choose from (buffet, Western food, Japanese food), and you can make your own reservation online. I went first thing in the morning and was able to go right in!
In the children's area, there was a stamp rally to explore the Halekulani. I didn't have time so I gave up 💦, but everything about it was typical of the Halekulani! It was a hotel I would like to stay at again.

It goes without saying that this is a world-famous hotel brand.
A comfortable luxury hotel that offers excellent facilities and high-level hospitality, designed for Japanese people.
There are convenience stores and several restaurants within walking distance.
Almost all rooms have an ocean view.
The spacious rooms are also nice, with spacious bathrooms, shower booths, and two sinks. Of course, the toilet is in a separate private room.
There is a walk-in closet where you can open your suitcase, and a balcony with chairs and tables, so you can enjoy a comfortable stay at the hotel.
They provide everything you need, from disposable slippers to beach sandals, bags that can be carried to the beach or pool, and robe that can be worn over a swimsuit.
Above all, I was impressed by the comfort of the bed pillows and mattresses, which were the best I have ever stayed at in a hotel.
I looked into it and found that they can be purchased online, so I would like to consider it.
The hotel has an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, and a private beach.
The main pool is crowded with many children, and depending on the time of day it can be noisy and crowded.
Although it's a little far away, the Ocean Terrace Pool in the Sunset Wing is off-limits to children, so you can spend a relaxing time there.
You can also enjoy champagne by the pool.
The restaurant, which also serves breakfast, had live Okinawan music during dinner time.
Breakfast was buffet-style with a wide variety of menu items.
The staff were well-trained and were friendly and hospitable.
The only drawback was that the hotel was very large (long), so it was difficult to move around.
Also, depending on the time of day, it can get crowded and check-in and check-out can take a long time.
As it is a luxury resort, the accommodation costs are by no means cheap, but the hotel offers a wonderful, extraordinary experience that exceeded expectations.

Executive summary: facilities are not scaled to the number of guests, making the place ultimately feeling cramped.
Pros:
The resort looks very nice, luxurious. Definitely not that late 80s bubble, concrete block vibe that is unfortunately so typical to the island.
Rooms are spotless, very nicely desgined, spacious, comfortable, and equipped. Bedding is excellent.
Cocktails esp. Mai Tai. Do try the cocktail bar if you have to wait late for your table at the restaurant (see below). They are also very good value compared to other items.
Food in the resort's restaurants is generally very good. Sadly no breakfast buffet because of Covid but espressos, appetizers and the French toast at Shiroux were lovely.
Cons:
Staff is extremely agreeable but service can be quite slow or forgetful (every time we had to ask for a straw, missing cuttlery, sugar).
Room noise insulation: very good with adjacent rooms (we did not hear a sound), insufficient for window and door (you hear every guest talking in the corridor loud and clear, that woke us up much earlier than we would have liked).
And the biggest flaw, by far: hotel facities are seriously underscaled vs. the number of guests. The resort boasts 360 accomodations.
3.5 pools and a combined restaurant max capacity of about 300 are simply not enough.
Poolside seats run out fast on Ocean view side, especially the adult-only quiet pool (26 seats and a waiting line to get one).
Restaurants on site can be fully booked very quickly. We had to pick between having dinner at 5pm or after 9pm.
It's frustrating and not worthy of a luxury experience. Luxury means designing with wide margins with an objective of zero customer frustration in mind, not tight ones as if it were a cost cutting resource optimization problem.

Room Tip: Our room was Ocean view just above the restaurant. Nice view, but noisy, especially late evening.

My husband and I stayed for three nights with a 1 year old at the beachfront wing. The room and the resort was beautiful, and the staff were very friendly and personable. The experience would have been as I’d hoped for if it weren’t for our terrible breakfast experience. There are three restaurants available for breakfast. Since we were staying three nights, we’d hoped to go to all three of them.
The first morning was fine, but our second morning was a Sunday, and the breakfast cue was too long for our first choice (50 minutes) and we were directed to the other restaurant that we’d had breakfast at the day before, that was, according to the breakfast staff, was available without a wait.
We didn’t really want the same breakfast as the day before, but our baby was hungry so we walked across the resort just to be told that they were full as well and that it would be a 30 minute wait.
We ended up waiting for an hour and a half without any notice of when we would get a table. The restaurant was not even half occupied so I am guessing that they were restricting access due to covid or due to lack of staff. In any case, we would have appreciated a clearer communication from the staff as to when we would get a table, or an offer to change breakfast to in room breakfast if the reason for the delay was social distancing. By this point we would have gone out for breakfast but there is absolutely nothing around the resort. For those of you who have young children would know that a 1 year old can’t wait 50 minutes for breakfast.
My baby was so hungry that he was too cranky to eat as well as usual, and we ended up having to cancel our day plans due to this delay. His nap time routine also got messed up due to the late breakfast and he was not happy all day. My husband and I also missed our lunch reservation that we were looking forward to outside of the resort. I felt so bad for my baby not being able to eat at his usual meal time.
I have read similar reviews about breakfast cues at this resort. So if you are traveling with a young child, I suggest you bring your own breakfast and meals for your child. There aren’t many healthy options available for a young toddler either. But then again, who wants to prepare food on their own in a microwave at a 5 star resort?
That’s up to you but we expected a lot more, Halekulani Okinawa.

Regarding the facilities, well decorated for instagrammable. However, very limited facilities with only 3 outdoor pools for adults which are designed to chill. Apart from the pools, there is a very small beach and the sands are rough. Any other hotel beaches in Okinawa could be way better. Other than these, nothing else unless you pay extra. Might be good for guests like staying with the pool and looking at the scenery…but I doubt if that warrants a day of stay?
Regarding the service, most of the staff were very nice. In particular, I would like to appreciate Kento-san who was so helpful in taking photos even getting his entire wear wet in the pool. But be aware some staff were very bad and the photos taken were blurry, out of focused…etc.
The restaurant was awful. The Kingdom, which is the so-called steakhouse of the hotel, their staff had no idea about the grade of the US beef they serve and didn’t tell us the drinks would be 3x more than the advertised price as we ordered beyond the promotional timing. We went there for a celebration and if you didn’t pay extra for a cake, they wouldn’t prepare any celebration for you, not even a little plate. I would highly recommend celebrating in a proper steakhouse instead of this hotel restaurant.
Overall speaking, not worth the price and you could find lots of better options in Okinawa.

Good points: The room was spacious, there was a lot of storage space, an iron was provided, and we were given plenty of bottled water, so we were able to stay with peace of mind. The bathtub and shower were separate, so we were able to take a stress-free bath. The surrounding environment was nice, and we enjoyed walking around the hotel. The terrace was spacious, and the chairs provided were comfortable, so we were able to spend a relaxing time while looking at the view.
Bad points: There was no detailed instruction manual for the room's equipment, so for example, we didn't know what the shower next to the bathtub was (we found out later from online reviews). It seems that the room is cleaned twice a day, in the morning and evening, but the used towels were removed during breakfast, but new towels were not replaced, which was a bit of a problem. The Wi-Fi was not secured, so we couldn't use it.
Overall, it was very nice to be able to spend a comfortable and relaxing time. I would appreciate it if the bad points are improved the next time I stay.

In particular, amenities and other items were prepared before I could ask a staff member for them.
Also, with the online breakfast reservation system, I didn't have to wait in front of the restaurant entrance, so no time was wasted.
The room was cleaned and the bed was made very carefully while I was out, and I was also impressed by the lock on the aluminum sash opening that faced the outside.
If I had to make a request, it would be that although there is a shop inside the hotel, I would like it to have a few more food and drink items.

We had the absolute best time at Halekulani Okinawa for our honeymoon. The resort is the most beautiful property I have ever stayed at and the hospitality is incredible. My husband and I loved the fresh pajamas and beach hoodies each day. Rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and comfortable. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure we had everything we need. I have a tree nut allergy and every restaurant was careful to make sure there were no contaminations. I highly recommend doing the snorkeling excursion. We had so much fun and the boat ride was beautiful. The spa is the best I have ever attended in my life and highly recommend booking a treatment if you can. Food is amazing. Best breakfast buffet we’ve ever had. We at at shiroux and Aomi and loved the multi-course meals. The resort is quiet and peaceful and is perfect for a small family or couple looking to relax in a beautiful scenery.

We were offered the option to upgrade to a suite room, and did, but the indirect lighting in the room didn't work with the switch, and it was so bright that our one-year-old child couldn't sleep until around 11:30pm on the first day.
I called the operator and they responded immediately, but it was a little disappointing.
Other than that, we were more than satisfied and had a comfortable stay.
Both breakfast and dinner were very satisfying.
The restaurant staff were very considerate of children, so it was a safe place to eat even with children.
The service from each staff member was also excellent.
I would like to stay here again.
