Canopy Cortina is by far the best place we have stayed at in the valley! Emily, Mike and their crew are amazing and go over and beyond what is expected at a ski lodge. Without a doubt, the food at Canopy would be a highlight. There is no need to venture out after a long day on the slopes as the menu was always 5* and provided an awesome atmosphere to relax and recoup. The room we had was fantastic and could easily fit 6 people, possibly more. And the beds...... BLISS! Also, a short walk from the lodge is an onsen which was amazing! We honestly couldn’t fault the place!!!! We will be back again for sure.
My family of 2 adults and 2 teens stayed at Canopy Cortina for 8 nights and we could not fault the place. Emily and Mike went out of their way to make our stay memorable. They were backed up by excellent, friendly staff and nothing was ever too much trouble. Mike's dinners were always delicious and he was happy to cater to special diets if needed. The rooms were clean and well furnished and comfortable even for 4 adults in one room. The lodge had a shuttle bus to the other ski resorts if you wanted to ski somewhere other than Cortina. Otherwise, you could easily get the Hakuba Valley shuttle which is only 5 mins walk from the lodge. We definitely hope to return. Thank you Emily, Mike and team at Canopy.
I can’t speak highly enough of the the staff at Canopy Cortina. Absolute perfection from the moment we arrived. Owner Emily picked us up (2 adults 3 children) from the bus stop in Hakuba. We were taken to a local ski hire place and organised all of our snow gear on the way to our accomodation. Staff extremely helpful with luggage and check in. Snow gear picked up from property and no need to waste time retiring ourselves. Room was very large with ample space. Shower had products for use and even tooth brushes. Bar fridge, tea and coffee facilities and chocolates on arrival which was a nice touch. Very comfortable bedding and plenty of cushions for lazing around. Very clean and view was perfect. We ate dinner at the property and the food was absolutely delicious. Mike and his team in the kitchen were more than happy to cater for our fussy kids. The hot chocolate is a must to try and the beautifully presented cheese platter. Breakfast was ample and perfectly cooked and so much variety. Each morning we were taken to a ski resort of our choice and staff would closely monitor the snow conditions and make suggestions. Also picked up from the resorts and back to home away from home sitting by the wood heater, watching movies in the media room, chatting to the lovely Mick (bartender) at the bar and just taking everything in. After a day of skiing myself and the kids spent hours outside the property playing in the snow, using the toboggan and building a snowman. Location is perfect, walking distance to a ski resort and the Green Plaza which also offered dining options but not comparable to the Cortina Lodge. This is one place that we will defiantly return to. I can not recommend highly enough and caters for all. Thank you Emily, Mike, Mick and crew for making our family holiday and unforgettable one .…
My friends and I loved our stay at Canopy Cortina. Great sized room with awesome beds. The location is quiet with incredible views to wake up to, our gear dried in the dry room every time, located a short walk to one of the best powder resorts in the valley and really close to Tsugaike which has very accessible backcountry riding. Allready planning a return :)
We stayed here for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Years with some friends. The lodge is beautiful, so spacious. The rooms are big (for Japanese size) and beautifully presented. The beds are comfortable and so is the temperature. The small touches show the owner's attention to detail. The in-house restaurant is super convenient. The food is absolutely amazing. We didn't even go anywhere else to eat. Really hearty and decently priced. We enjoyed lovely South Australian wine with nearly every meal. There's the option to add extras to the standard breakfast which we thought was great. I highly recommend the house-baked sourdough 👌 The lodge is basically ski-in, ski-out to one of the resorts. The other resorts are easy to get to via bus or the lodge shuttle. There's an Onsen next door that has a sauna which we loved. Emily, Mike and all the staff made us feel so welcome and were really helpful. The atmosphere was awesome. Just the right amount of chill and buzz. Great snow movies were showing nearly all the time in front of the fire. We couldn't recommend this accommodation more highly!!…
