Decided to go Hakuba a month before the ski season so not much hotel choices left. Surprisingly, my stay is very good despite of some bad comments in previous review. Arrived there at night in heavy snow so it was a bit difficult to find the hotel by car especially the GPS location was incorrect. And luckily when I find the hotel, the staff showed me to the car park in the back of the building. I love the room very much, with a small and cozy dining area. There is bathroom in room while the public onsen is small. The hotel is within a few mins walk from the ski ropeway, with also many shops and restaurants nearby. Room price is reasonable and the hotel is highly recommended.
Shocking to meet an unfriendly reception staff member and find a narrow room with a blue-colored tatami mat and unpleasant smell. In the end a hot bathing bath and a breakfast restaurant are not so bad. No repeat. Dinner is not provided. So you need to buy some foods outside, but during a summer season the area is something like a ghost town. In the evening only convenience or souvenir shops are available.
