Very beautiful resort. We are a family of 5 and we stayed at the family suite room. It has an outdoor and indoor bath and we also booked the dinner and breakfast for 5 nights. Dinner is either Chinese restaurant (9 meal course) or French restaurant (5 meal course), very delicious food! We had wagyu beef on Christmas Day! Hotel also hv a lot of free snacks like chips, popcorn and ice cream (onsen). We love staying here.

I stayed here for one night with my son, an elementary school student, for skiing at Tsugaike Kogen Ski Resort. It's a little off the main street of Hakuba, but it's close to Tsugaike and Iwatake, so it's convenient for those who want to go to these ski resorts. I booked a Grand Twin room through a travel site, but we stayed in a Family Suite. The design of the guest room building was great, with privacy in mind, and it was nicely renovated. The facilities were new and it was a memorable stay. The hospitality was great, with free food and drinks in the lounge, billiards, table tennis, and private baths. The large bath with running water was comfortable and I bathed in it several times. For dinner, we had a premium French course, which tasted great and was very satisfying. Breakfast was a buffet, but the taste and selection were average, but I liked the fact that it wasn't crowded and I could eat at my own pace, probably because there weren't many rooms. There were many young staff members throughout the hotel, and the hospitality was awkward, and I didn't feel any hospitality in the soft aspects compared to the hard aspects. This may be because the COVID-19 pandemic has ended, but I think satisfaction would increase if the staff's attitude improved. In conclusion, the physical hospitality was excellent, and I felt that this resort hotel could achieve even greater customer satisfaction if the staff's attitude was improved.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were so helpful and professional. We were four adults and the room me stayed in was very large and comfortable. We had our own lounge area and a hot tub on the balcony. Unfortunately we couldn’t use this in the winter season but we did use the private onsens and they were fabulous. Highly recommend trying them during your stay. The view from our room was over the garden/ snow park and it was gorgeous covered in snow. You can play in the snow here. I loved all the extras this hotel provided. Complementary food and drinks from 12pm daily. They also had an excellent laundry (you pay for this) machines worked really well. I loved the massage chairs and ping pong as well. We had a car and they have parking in front of the hotel. We also had one meal at the hotel French restaurant. It was very nice, we had the cheaper set menu. My only criticism is both restaurants aren’t cheap. The breakfast that was included in our stay was good. All in all I would highly recommend this Hotel and we hope to return one day.

Yesterday we finished our ski holiday at Sierra Resort and the location is simply stunning - you will not find a more beautiful winter wonderland setting and the resort's architecture features huge windows with spectacular views into the surroundings. The beyond helpful and efficient team at Sierra got us bookings at local restaurants including one Yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) dinner that completely blew our mind - definitely some of the best Wagyu we've tasted. The complementary dinner shuttle bus worked perfectly for us and from the stops it was only a 2/3 mins walk to the restaurants (we went out for dinner all 3 nights in a row because it was so easy to get to the village and we enjoyed having a look around town but there is also a restaurant at the resort that fellow guests said was excellent). Similarly the staff explained where and when we could hop on the bus to the slopes and get back, which worked without any problems for us (from lots of ski holidays back home in Europe, we were already well used to the ins- and outs and the logistics of skiing and the transport to and from slopes here was on par with most ski resorts we have been to)
The Onsen at Sierra are extraordinary (particularly amazing after a long day of skiing) and the breakfast choice is huge and delicious (incl. such things as homemade jams!). We live on the other side of the world, but if we were able to come back to Japan we would definitely stay here again.

We stayed 3 nights and Hotel Sierra Resort and had a lovely time. Highlights- 1) Onsen. You have to book the private onsens at 8 am, but if you miss them the communal (gender-segregated) onsen is just as amazing (and not busy like a public onsen). Surprising perk - ice cream snacks available after you come out of the onsen. Yum! 2) Food. We didn't know that we had paid for the breakfast & dinner included option, but in the end we are glad we did! The breakfast buffet included Japanese and western options. The 5 course french/japanese fusion dinner was excellent every night, but might not be good for picky eaters. The staff always asked about food sensitivities and were accommodating of our needs. 3) The room. Large, heated flooring, beautiful view into the forest. 4) Transportation. We did not have a car but the hotel is on the public hakuba snow bus line so you can get to any of the ski resorts quite easily. Pay attention to the schedule though as not every bus stops at the hotel.
The hotel is in a beautiful setting but one downside is that it is quite far (~15min) from the central Hakuba bus station and if you miss the bus or shuttle it is a 3500Y cab ride back to the hotel.

I stayed the day before because I wanted to walk on Happo Ridge.
Nestled in the woods, the atmosphere was good and the courtyard was well maintained. The room was large and had a good view.
The hot springs were also available for private use, so I was glad to make an online Reservation from my room. However, the quality of the springs is normal compared to my favorite, Beppu.
I made a Reservation for French for dinner, but I inadvertently made a Reservation for time and ended up starting at 8pm. I stopped by a delicious cafe in Tiramisu before check-in, which is what I regret. It is a Recommendation to make a Reservation in advance by phone or something until time.
However, because it was late, I was led to the most atmospheric seat at the back of the restaurant and had a comfortable time. Thank you for your consideration.
It's not that special as a French level, it's a lot of people, so I don't think you can compare it to a neighborhood restaurant where the chef runs everything by himself. Breakfast is not an Inn either, so I don't think it can be helped.
There was an open lounge with plenty of alcohol. It seems comfortable for people who like it.
There were a lot of cars in the parking lot of the same model, giving the impression that they were at a dealer-sponsored music show.

Great place. Had a 5 night stay at Sierra last week, ski trip with my daughter, could not fault the resort, its staff and the food. Beautiful location with a free shuttle bus to move you into Hakuba, good skis to rent and easy local transport to thye ski resorts, 10 minuets up the road.

It's closer to the hot springs. The main dining area serves French Western food so it's nice to be able to eat in casual clothes. But be careful, yukatas are not allowed.
The West Wing The East Wing and the private open-air bath outside. The Goemon bath is interesting. But the place where the kettle is put in is fake.
The welcoming food and drink in front of the entrance was nice. The entrance might be a good idea. The tripe stewed in soy milk is not particularly innovative, but I was impressed by this new combination. The large public bath is slippery. Be careful, as the open-air bath is particularly slippery. This is because of the hot spring, so I don't think it's because it hasn't been cleaned.

This is our fourth family stayed at Hotel Sierra and it has once again proven to be a wonderful hotel. From the people who run it (a big thank you to Seiko and Mayu) to the delicious breakfasts, traditional onsen and complimentary wine and snacks throughout the day, it is hard not to unwind and relax. So thank you to all the staff that made our trip so memorable.
Only down side is that it is out of town and the hotel shuttle bus only drops you off at a limited number of stops in town, which makes restaurant reservations at night a little tricky, if you want to limit taxi costs.

It was very good. I stayed with my children. In summer, we also had a swimming pool, where we could play badminton and ball in the courtyard, and we had fireworks. The room, the bath and the response of the staff were amazing. The view from the bath is soothing with greenery. After the bath, the children will enjoy coffee milk and ice cream. Breakfast was also very good. I'd love to come again if I had the chance.
However, if you are allergic to food, you may need to be careful. I told them in advance and there were confirmations, but it seems that some of them were included. I had told them I was allergic to nuts, but for dinner dessert I had "nut cake" and "macaron". (Maybe macarons use almond flour...?) Fortunately, I was able to notice and avoid it myself… I'll have to be careful again next time I get a chance to visit.
