Detailed Reviews
It is a cool place more suitable for younger people I guess. It has a combination of hostel type rooms and private rooms with ensures. The rooms have cool names. The place is decorated interestingly with interesting paintings, images, etc. There is Netflix in your room. It is a bit far from the supermarket and restaurants and being in the same street with a graveyard makes it a bit spooky to walk to Happo or Echoland where most of bars and restaurants are located. But they make up by providing a free shuttle a few times every evening to these places. The staff are probably the best part, a group of enthusiastic young people and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast and food is good and they have a good range of drinks however we did not drink there. They have an information book in each room which is very helpful and give you a good insight if this is the first time you are visiting. During our stay we stayed in 2 private rooms. The rooms on ground level are very noisy. We stayed in one of them for part of our trip and couldn't sleep until midnight due to the noise from the bar and lobby. It's also good to know that it is implied you should take off your shoes at the door and use slippers inside the premise. Also there is no room service except for emptying the rubbish, that means no fresh towels or sheets or making up beds. The rooms are well heated. All in all I think if you are young you will have a great time there!!

The Phat house is easily my favourite alpine accomodation that i have stayed at in my 12 years of riding. I went there off a recommendation from a friend and would be more than happy to confidently recommend it to any body. I stayed there for 6 weeks but never once got home sick through the combination of the immaculate cozy facilities, lodge lay out and incredibly helpful, friendly staff.
Everything you could ever need after a long day of riding from a ps4, snow movies constantly running on a projector or tv, books, foam rollers, comfy couches, great food with a full bar in the living room and even a hot tub.
The shuttle services are also a life saver! I found not many other lodges or hotels run a shuttle service to and from the mountains or town and if so they charge.
The phat black bus is completely free and runs basically on the hour morning through till night with the exception of a few hours around lunchtime.
The staff are super knowledgeable of the local mountains and town as well and more than happy to share some well kept secrets food spots or recommend where the best place might be to ride the next day.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Phat House in Hakuba. The staff were extremely helpful and the views amazing. There is a large common room with a bar and food service in the evening featuring Mexican night on Mondays. The room was clean and bright. At the time of our stay, the Phat House had mostly young people staying with a friendly atmosphere throughout. The staff are always on hand and checking there’s nothing they can do.
There is a shuttle bus to a lot of resorts in the area but one ski resort is in walking distance from the hotel.
Would definitely recommend the Phat House and hope to be back in the future.

Absolutely loved my stay at the Phat House. I couldnt fault it and i would never stay anywhere else in Hakuba. The staff went above and beyond from picking us up at the train station when we arrived to nightly shuttles into the township, they were super friendly and made the place feel like a second home. They knew how to kick the night off with their Chu-Hai's from the bar which turned a quite night in, into abit of an adventure. The actual accommodation itself was really well setup with the rooms having a very generous amount of space, the common room was a awesome area to meet other travellers and have a few drinks with the boys. I highly recommend this place for anyone travelling to the area. I will be back next year without a doubt.

Hands down best accommodation I’ve ever had! The crew were so welcoming and helpful in getting you to the best spots on the best days and making sure you were the first ones on first tracks. Their shuttle bus ran down to the minute they said it would with no hiccups at all.
Mo’s skills behind the bar were second to none in hyping everyone up to turn one on and have some of the funniest nights of your life.
What followed with a dreadful hangover and window full of fresh powder over night was a breakfast on point and tabs barista skills to get you amped on a massive day on the mountain.
They say once you visit the PHATTY you become family and that’s true to a T. With all the up most respect to each and every single person working at the The Phat House.

If you’re in Hakuba, you need to stay at The Phat House. I had the absolute pleasure to stay there again for 10 days during a 3 week trip. It’s hard to put into words how much I enjoyed my time there.
From the get go the service was unreal, being picked up straight away from the bus terminal by the lovely Tabitha and taken straight to my glorious home for the next week and a half. On arrival I was quickly greeted by the majority of the staff some old some new. Denzel, Mo and Dan with their experience ensured the place ran seamlessly.
I can’t comprehend how nice the staff are, going above and beyond consistently, dropping people all over the valley at all different times. Definitely have to shout them out, Liam, Zenna, Javon, Bisho and Pheebs were all fantastic, literally cannot fault them.
The bar creates a great atmosphere and provides some great times. The food is also delicious if you feel like eating in, thank you Ash for all the feeds!
I could not recommend The Phat House enough to someone looking to spend some time in Hakuba. The shuttles are a huge necessity, the staff are flawless and the vibe is unreal.
Thank you everyone for making my stay so wonderful!!!

The phat house is an awesome place to stay if your looking to ski or snowboard in Hukuba. The lodge is centrally located within the valley and provides heaps of options to access all the various mountains with their shuttle buses. All the staff are really friendly and always accomodating and I would definitely recommend it!!! Their restaurant serves great food and the lodge offers a relaxing atmosphere. I’ll be heading back next year for sure.

Couldn’t of had a better time
The staff were second to none, definitely made our trip. The phattie as a whole is a magical place. Filled with like minded people who love shreddin snow and having a good time. If you want to make lifelong connections with people, be up to your waist in powder & drink multiple Chu Hais then get up at 6am for a big feed of bacon and eggs before you get your all inclusive shuttle to the Ski resort of your choice for the day then this is the place to be.
My friends & I hold the memories and people we met very close to our hearts
Happy to say we’ll be back same time next season.

We have been going to the Phat House for the last five years, and each year is better than the last. This place is awesome, the staff go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The atmosphere here is so friendly, everyone gets together at night and swaps stories from the days riding, over great food and music. There is even a jib park next to the house for frothers that haven*t had there fill for the day. A hot tub to soak the weary bones after a big day and Mo making some mad cocktails, makes for the best times. They even take you to the snow and pick you up at the end of the day.
If you stay anywhere else in Hakuba, its definately your loss..

Came to Phat House on a Monday for Mexican food and it did not disappoint - chicken and cauliflowers tacos were amazing. Really warm vibes all around. Free shuttles between the Phat House and Phat Packers (were I was staying) was excellent and really made my holiday easy!
