Did a super short one night vacation with my family and this place was great. I'm not into onsens, but it was nice to have it for my daughter and wife. They loved it. I loved the views in the morning. We came in on a rainy day, but the morning was incredible! The Hakuba valley area is gorgeous and the view from the room was nice to wake up to.

As a previous Hilton and Marriott hotel staff, I was very happy to see the staff service on point. The front desk must have good communication with the kitchen staff because they knew I was coming, and my god the food was awesome. Even if I go back for a day trip to Hakuba, I'll hit up the Hakuba Taproom at the bottom of the hotel. The burgers were super satisfying, and the tacos were awesome. I only tried three of the beers they had (too full), but the beer selection was also good. Looks like craft beers from all over Japan.

There's a patio area for eating and drinking, and there are activities mixed in. Convenient for my kids.

Wonderful gem of a hotel in Hakuba, centrally located close to bus routes to all the major resorts in Hakuba. Service at the front desk was great, rooms were clean and the little onsen was amazing. Stayed there as a couple with a teenage son. We had a great time and we will be Back!

Our family (2 adults and 2 children, 7 & 9) spent 6 nights at the Hakuba Panorama Hotel as part of 16 nights in Japan and 7 nights in Phuket to start the New Year. The Panorama and Hakuba were the highlight of our stay. Awesome snow and great skiing each day was made even better by the great staff and friendly relaxed atmosphere at the Panorama.
We stayed in a 4 bed room, which was huge by Japanese standards and certainly big enough for our family and all our luggage. The esuite bathroom is small, but not too small, and we encountered smaller whilst in Japan.
The Hotel is in a good location,1 or 2 blocks from the Happo village area (restaurants, shops etc). The Hotel runs a bus to Happo One, shuttle buses to 3 of the ski fields stop at the front door, and it is just 2 blocks from the Happo Information Centre, where you can get buses to the ski resorts that don't go from the front door. (Hakuba has a great shuttle bus system that runs all day and into the night to get to restaurants or bars.)
The breakfast buffet was very good, and so was dinner, which was great, because as a family we were happy to just stay in 4 of the 6 nights that we were there. (The kids in particular loved the nightly set menu.)
The best thing about the Hakuba Panorama is the friendly staff, always offering to help, eg booking a restaurant and the nearby Japanese drumming show, taking us to the nearest ski rental shops after we arrived, enquiring each morning about where we wanted to ski (& offering us a lift in lieu of the Hakuba shuttle bus) or just sharing a laugh or a story with us and/or the kids at dinner time.

Stayed here with a friend for one week at the beginning of March for skiing holiday. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of access to various mountains for skiing purposes. We were extremely unhappy to find out if we booked the accommodation one week prior to dates then we would get the same room for AU$2000 cheaper. When we booked the accommodation back in August it stated that the rooms were in demand and that there was only three or four left at the price we paid. To our surprise when we were staying at the hotel we found out that we were one of two guests staying at the hotel at this particular time. On questioning the staff at the hotel they advised that this was going rate however when I showed them the price currently for the rooms there was obviously a significant difference in the price i.e. AU$2000. My advice if you are travelling to Hakuba at the shoulder edge of the season perhaps try and book a week prior to leaving as there was And abundance of accommodation available on the mountain and indeed closer to the ski slopes with ridiculously cheap prices. We felt extremely ripped off with the price that we paid for this hotel considering it was empty. We were offered no form of compensation. And the breakfast was stock standard for anywhere on the mountain and was average. This hotel is extremely accessible to most skiing mountains with a lot of local free shuttles stopping just outside the hotel. In the cold it is a little far away from Happo one slopes and dining areas and approximately 1 km away from Ecco land which is the main area for food and entertainment.
I would just like to reiterate that the staff at this hotel amazing and extremely accommodating.

Our family stayed at Panorama on a last-minute ski trip to Hakuba in March 2015.

This a very down-to-earth place. Nothing fancy - but everything works. We had a family room with a queen-seized bed, and two singles, which worked great for our family of four. Housekeeping was a bit of a hit and miss, but always, we have fresh towels and robes waiting for us daily after a "hard" day in the slopes.

Our fave in the hotel - the lovely onsite indoor bath, where spring water is drawn form the hotel's source and heated to a comfortable 42C. We also enjoyed the daily breakfast - nothing fancy, but simple and satisfying. They served dinner too.

Location wise - we loved that the shuttle service to both Tsugaike and Hakuba 47 stop directly in front of the hotel. They also organise morning shuttle service to one of the Happo One. For a ski holiday, this was a great location. Eateries are a nearby walk away, though we prefer to cab it :) Oh, if is so happens that the driver or owner is around and have a bit of time on hand, they quite often offer to take you to your venue. I thought that was very kind of them.

The owner and his wife, a Japanese lady, were very kind and hospitable, as were most of their staff. Always ready with dining recommendations when asked. Another great service they provide - they'd ferry you to pick up skis from Spicy Rental, and when you are done with the equipment at the end of your trip, just leave the skis in their ski room and it will be returned to the shop for you.

Not a luxurious option, but for our last minute trip, it worked out very well. For more on our trip on where to ski and what to expect in Hakuba have a look at our trip report - http://kidsonboard.net/blog/travel-moment/skiing-in-hakuba/

This is my first time along with 5 of my friends to japan/snowboarding in Hakuba and i have never been so happy with a hotel before. They have Great sized rooms, we are staying in a mountain view family room which is a beautiful room might i add and we wake up with an awesome view every morning. The staff here are so helpful and lovely, they speak good English and drop you to the mountains at set times of the day and dinner every night. They also serve a delicious buffet breakfast every morning which was included in our room price and it's different every morning. The hotel is surprisingly very close to everything. It takes us no more then 5 minutes to walk to the Hakuba Happo Mountain, ATM, Convenience store and the central part of Hakuba (shops, restaurants, bars). One of the best parts of this hotel is the hot onsens...which is a hot mineral water spa..it definitely helps the muscles to relax after being up the slopes all day. I highly recommend this hotel to anybody who is looking to stay in the area

This is my second visit to this small hotel. It is a little gem and the second stay has allowed me to enjoy it more than before. To just appreciate its location - the view of the Panorama overlooking the Olympic ski Jumps as well as the snow fields and mountains. When returning home from a long days skiing, you can easily use your hotel as a distinctive landmark or beacon to guide you home everyday.
The people that run it and their dedication to your enjoyment has made this trip better than the last.
We arrived at 1am direct from the Narita Airport via the shuttle bus which is also conveniently linked in with the hotel. Smooth transition I must say.
We all got up the next morning eager to ski and straight after a cooked breakfast (daily), we were taken by minibus to the ski rental to get our gear. We were then taken to the slopes which are some 500 metres from the hotel if you wish to walk. Family ( with small children) makes it all a little painful but the pain is removed with the hotel's ongoing support.
Dinner is limited at the hotel but the hotel does offer most nights light snacks at the "Salt Bar", including if you book an authentic Japanese meal. You can order take away pizza from Hakuba Pizza Take away and have it delivered to the hotel and the pizza was good! Try to book your order early as you may be disappointed with the delay otherwise but they did a great job.
The hotel is not high budget but packs a punch for value , service and facilities. It even goes so far to provide onsen style facilities within the building to give you that Japanese experience it is not naturally heated though.
Overall the staff were very helpful, courteous, sensitive to our needs and respectful. Kevin Mollard the manager has performed wonders to make this an enjoyable and memorable experience for me and my family - thank you. The snow helped too!
Well done Panorama.

Our family of 5 travelled to Hakuba in mid-January 2013, and we stayed for 7 nights at the Panorama Hotel. To say the least, the holiday had been a disaster. My daughter got an ear infection and the rest of us were on edge. We went from one tiny hotel room in tokyo to another and by the time we reached hakuba i was frazzled. When we got to Panorama, the staff just read the situation so well! They offered to watch over the kids whilst we got settled in our room. It was just what we needed! They whole trip was turned around from then. Our youngest even declared that he was not coming home but was going to stay with his new family at the hotel :) It was just such a great trip, hopefully we can go back and stay again :) I know the kids will love it!

Our family of three stayed at Panorama Hotel over New Years 2012/2013 and everything written by others was our experience as well. Kevin was amazing at organizing accommodation/airport shuttles/ski packages etc. before our arrival, and the travel to Hakuba was easy and as planned. The Hotel is small, rooms large, clean and comfortable with a great view and the onsite onsen terrific. The staff are great for taking you to the ski rental places, make great dinner recommendations (Zen restaurant was our favourite), and even drop you off at restaurants in the evenings. The free shuttle bus was right outside the hotel and stopped at the various resorts - so all is very convenient.

The outstanding feature of this hotel is Kevin and his staff. I broke my leg during our stay and they were all outstanding in terms of thoughtfulness, taking care of us and helping sort out details that arose due to the situation. Nothing seemed too much to ask, and their concern was hugely appreciated. The onsite restaurant is excellent, and their chef even cooked a beautiful vegetarian meal when asked.

The hotel is accessible, and the local shuttle from Hakuba to Nozawa Onsen and then to Narita is extremely convenient.
