I stayed five nights in a traditional Japanese room. The staff are great, the bath house was great, the bar area is nice and relaxed. I felt very warm and welcome here and had relaxed friendly chats with the staff. It is a small and excellent hotel. Pick ups and drop offs were offered to ski resorts and lodges. It's a fantastic location and my room was quiet and I wasn't disturbed by guest noise in other rooms or from the street. Easy walk to Nakiyama slopes and the gondola and various bars and izakayas. Izakaya Paikaji, a cool restaurant, is on site and has terrific food. I recommend this place.
Beware! I recently booked a 2 week stay at Kokoro in Nov 2022 for a stay in late Feb 2023. I paid my deposit via Paypal, they confirmed my booking & payment. I then had to cancel due to a change in plan. They claim not to have received the payment, I've escalated the issue with Paypal, and provided proof of payment. This is simple fraud, they actually confirmed my initial payment in writing. A poor review seems the only option, does anyone know any next steps to take e.g. lawyer, police, hotel association? This is a pity, puts a big dent in ever skiing in Japan. Unless, you're absolutely sure you're going, don't book the Kokoro.
This hotel was a great choice, the rooms were very clean, comfortable and spacious for Japanese standards. All of the staff were lovely and always helped with everything they could, the shuttle service is a great when you are going a distance just a bit further than walkable. The onsen is a huge plus it was awesome after a long day of snowboarding. The breakfast was also great! Walking distance to the bus station and local restaurants/bars is another advantage of staying here. Would definitely return, thank you Kokoro!
The hotel is less than five minutes walk from Happo Bus Terminal, this is where you catch the bus to the different snow resorts. Restaurants and snow rentals are also minutes away. If you want to venture into Echoland or other restaurants in the vicinity, the hotel has a free shuttle service that provides drop off and pick up. The staff members are very friendly. Special mention to Dana and Yu as they are the ones I dealt with mostly. They were lovely, extremely helpful and were able to make great recommendations throughout our stay. So, thank you ladies for making our stay an enjoyable one! Breakfast selection was great. I enjoyed the soups which varied daily. There’s a hot bath facility that I made use of, it’s great especially after a day at the slopes. All in I couldn’t fault this place at all! …
I spent 2 nights at Kokoro Hotel and felt very at home as soon as I walked in the door. The staff here are very friendly and the hotel has a bar, restaurant, Onsen and dry room. The rooms are cozy and spacious with heating, flat-screen tv, private bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities and comfortable beds! Kokoro is nearby to shops, bars, restaurants and it's within walking distance to Happo-One Ski Resort.
Our family of 4, stayed in a family room at the Hotel Kokomo. The hotel Manager, Solomon, and his team were so helpful. Knowledgeable, knew what we wanted to do and were so helpful, with ski hire, restaurant bookings, ski school, transport and general advice. They made a big difference to our trip. Location was excellent near transport and amenities. Our room was clean and nice.
Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. They've been a great help in restaurant reservations, and went beyond their scope of work to help us. My brother and I had forgotten our passports in the hotel safe and were already on a bus back to Tokyo. Solomon reached out after and eventually arranged for our passports to be brought over to us in Tokyo.
