I would list this as 3 1/2. The stay overall was good, they have a laundry room, and it was close enough to some restaurants and other amenities, yet it seemed a bit far away from the actual resorts. The bus system took a while so it felt like the powder days weren't taken full advantage of. Overall I think it's a pretty good place to stay if you can't find a similar hotel closer to the resorts.
We stayed at this beautiful hotel for 7 nights in late Feb 2020, the hotel itself is accommodating with the services and getting you all set up for the impending slopes. What really gives it 5 stars is the staff who go out of their way to accommodate you in every way needed. From sorting out dinner reservations, picking us up in a shuttle, to finding misplaced gear (after check out). Mychelle, Olivia, and the team are an asset to this hotel and we'll definitely be back. The location being near the bustling restaurants and bars was also amazing.... This was a great experience...... and we loved the daily yoga👍👍
For the price paid (SGD320 per night), it was definitely not worth the stay. It was more like an inn than a hotel. I could have stayed at a better one nearby if I knew this was the type of room I am getting. Reviews were good online and it was just a 3 mins walk from where our friend's accommodation were, that's why we decided to book this place. Nothing, but regrets. The bed were so bad we could feel the coil spring, my husband and I ended up sharing 1 of the twin bed that were combined together. The room was so dusty that i developed very bad rashes. I went to the reception and showed them the conditions and they didn't even bother to offer to change my room. PS: They knew we were there for our honeymoon. Requested for cleaning and changed of sheets but it was not done as I purposely marked it so that I will know if the sheet was changed. Feedback to the reception and they came up to the room to change the sheets and vacuum the room. I gave this one star for the help they rendered before I got this hotel booked and i appreciated it. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel, because, for the price, you can stay at a better one nearby.…
Had the opportunity to visit Hakuba during a business trip to Japan and stayed at the Shakespeare. The Hotel has a great location in Echoland with Restaurants and Bars within walking distance. Olivia and the staff made as feel very welcome and really went above and beyond. It was early ski season so the Hakuba shuttle bus was not in operation but Shakespeare stepped in and took us to and from the slops over three days. Thanks from both of us and we will for sure be back if the opportunity is given.
What a great find! I can’t say enough about the service at this hotel. At first I was a bit upset because I personally thought the bed was too hard. I know different people like different mattress so I figured I was stuck with it for the length of our stay. As soon as Olivia the Manager heard I was not comfortable she went WAY above and beyond to make sure I got a good nights sleep on a comfortable mattress. She personally went out and bought a memory foam mattress topper and two pillows to go with it. She was SO sweet and accommodating. As we got to know the area a little bit I realized we are surrounded with excellent restaurants, massage, ski rental places, bars and convenience stores all less that a few 100 meters away. We particularly enjoyed a sushi place with a women sushi chef called West Mountain. I also LOVED the hot pot of coffee on in the lobby all day long. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the heat was great. The bathrooms are a little strange but clean. Thank you Olivia for treating us like we were visiting your home!…
