I would 100% recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to Hakuba. The entire experience was wonderful! I stayed with my partner for 10 nights in January.

The hotel was clean, welcoming and in the perfect location. The private Onsen was absolutely perfect after a day on the slopes. There is a well equipped drying room for all of your skis and snowboards, as well as a laundry. We had breakfast a couple of times and it was also great!

The real highlight of this hotel is the host Takao. He was extremely friendly and helpful. He drove us to and from the bus station and various other destinations, gave us very helpful information about the different ski slopes and surrounding attractions, had great discounts for daily lift passes, made us dinner reservations and even helped us find medicine at the local pharmacy. He really went out of his way to ensure our trip was amazing!

Overall, a really great stay. We would definitely book this hotel again.

Stayed 6 night in Soyokaze. Amazing japanese hospitality from Taka san and his wife. Ski for 5days. Getting discount coupon or discounted ski lift pass from accommodation. 5 night of private hot bath help to soothen tired limbs from skiing.

Tried their amazing breakfast for 2 days.
Do remember to book their Italian omakase 5 course dinner from the owner chef. Reservation have to be 2 days in advance.

Very very well recommended.. また来年ね。

I stayed at this hotel for a snowboarding holiday and found the place perfect. The location is right in the centre of Echoland with free shuttle buses 30 seconds walk away.

The hotel hosts are very friendly and helpful. It's a small hotel and very clean and quiet.

The rooms have small fridge, flat screen TV, desk, and even heated toilet seat. The free onsen is great after a day on the slopes and the breakfast is yummy for 1000 yen.

I would definitely recommend this place and will stay here again if I return to Hakuba.

Hotel is in Echoland, which has it's own tiny Main Street. It's a little farther away from the action, but it's a nice area. Make sure you understand how the shuttle buses operate, and the times they stop in Echoland, you could end up waiting for a while before the next bus comes along. I seems like there are only 1 or 2 taxis in the entire Hakuba area...

The people that run the hotel are as nice as they can be. Their English isn't the greatest but it can get you by. They will pick you up at the Hakuba Bus Station, just give them a call. They'll also take you back there when you're ready to leave.

The hotel is older, but is quiet. I would rate the rooms about a 2.5. The tiny bathroom isn't heated, but just leave the door open and your room heat will get in there. Toilet seat was heated to help out... There were only 2 other people staying there during my stay, so I had the onsen pretty much to myself. It's not that big, but it sure is nice to soak in after a day of skiing. TV has Japanese Channels only. Also, plugs are only 2 straight prongs, make sure you bring your own adapter, they have 1 there but it is only for a 2 prong slant to a 2 prong straight and they don't seem to sell any adapters in Echoland, or at the 7-11 down the street... The wireless internet works OK, sometimes fast and sometimes slow. It doesn't require a password so probably a lot of other people in the area are riding on their signal. They have detergent behind the door to the right of the washer/dryers. The dryer on the rigtht did not work well when i used it. I had to run my load 3 times before it was fairly dry.

The same people that run it also cook the breakfasts, and they're pretty good. Mostly eggs of some sort with fruit and fruit juice. They will cook you dinner if you arrange it in advance.

They can also get you discounted lift tickets if you ask.

Overall not too bad for a budget hotel.

I would absolutely stay here again.

I stayed in December 2019. This is close to a ski rental (2 min walk), which is right across from the bus station to take you to the ski areas. Location is very convenient, with restaurants all around. It is farther from the Hakuba JR Station - took me about 20-25 min when I was walking really fast, but the owner Taka offered to pick me up/drop me off from the station at the beginning and end of my stay, and even gave me a ride during the day when I wanted to head there during my stay.

The rooms were clean and cozy with a very strong heater. It's western style (with beds). There is the small private onsen that you can book every day - it's perfect for after skiing! Especially good if you're shy about going to public onsen or just don't want to head out.

Best part was Taka - the hospitality was off the charts, and I would 10/10 stay here again if I am around Hakuba!

I didn't try their breakfast/dinners because I didn't know what my schedule was going to look like and they needed to be booked in advance, but I walked by when people were eating dinner one night and it looked great!

This is a great little hotel to stay at for a ski holiday. Large comfortable rooms, furnished a little differently to a chain-style hotel. Great location in Echoland close to many restaurants and also the ski bus shuttle stop. Breakfast is great and well priced. Last but certainly not least Taka is an amazing host and really goes out of his way to make your stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!!

If you’re visiting Hakuba, this is a great place to stay. It is in the middle of echo land, surrounded by plenty of restaurants and ski rental shops. There is also a small, private onsen which is great for relaxing. Soyokaze is very close to the shuttle bus stop to get to and from the snow resorts, and the staff are very friendly.

Taka also makes a great breakfast!

We were warmly welcomed by the owner Taka, who continued to show his generosity throughout our stay! He kindly drove us to the ski slopes when we missed the bus, to the train station, and to an atm which was too far for walking distance!
The rooms were spacious and warm every day we got home from a day on the slopes. The private onsen was also a god send after skiing all week! It was truely beautiful and relaxing. The location is also amazing as it is right next to the Main Street of Echoland. A 2 min walk to the shuttle bus which takes you to the slopes and very close to shops and restaurants. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to Hakuba!

I could not rate this hotel high enough. Firstly, do not be put off by the lack of reviews. Taka (who I will rave about soon) has only recently set up this hotel. This hotel is a hidden gem, low priced given we are in the Japanese mountains, and beautifully kept. Here are the best points:

1. The owner Taka display the greatest generosity and kindness I have ever seen. He is the kindest soul, always wanting to help you from driving you to get cash out, finding good restaurants for you and helping you with laundry. He will also pick you up from Hakuba train station so you don’t have to get a taxi. He is incrdible and your greatest asset when trying to sort out skiing and the language barriers to booking things.

2. The location is unbeatable. You are 30 seconds from the main eating strip with a great mix of western and japenese food options. There is a large convienience store probably 1 minute away which was handy for buying snacks, toiletries, alcohol and lite meals

3. The rooms are so big! For Japan standards they are huge. There was a couch to sit on, heaps of spare room for suitcases. The bathroom was great and the water pressure was fantastic. The bed was so comfy and it was the first time I slept through the night in Japan

4. The onsen, seriously how could this hotel get any better? The onsen is magical. It overlooks beautiful trees covered in snow and is a traditional japenese onsen. After a long day of skiing getting into the onsen, opening the windows and looking at the snow fall honestly made me feel like I won the lottery.

5. Breakfast (if you want to have it) is brilliant. You pay 1000 yen for it and you get a freshly made meal each day. It isn’t a buffet, you book a time (7am, 7:30am or 8am) and they have a meal ready for you. It is more western food but honestly brilliant. On the first day I had a freshly made egg bacon and veggie frittata, a salad, some fruit, two massive pieces of fresh bread with jam, a huge breakfast sausage, apple juice and coffee. The next day was fried eggs with a potato salad, fruit, garlic style bread, fresh bread with peach jam, yoghurt ect. It was freshly cooked and so lovely to have.

This hotel is incredible. I highly and absolutely recommend it.

Hotel Soyokaze is clean and comfortable. The private onsen is great for muscle recovery after a day on the slopes. Takao and his wife are wonderful hosts. Their large breakfasts are reasonably priced and fill you up for several hours. Takao was always available to help with local knowledge, discount lift passes for Goryu/HaKuba 47 and Happo-One and he even drove us to the Happo Bus terminal twice. The hotel is surrounded by great restaurants, ski rental shops and bus stops. I highly recommend Hotel Soyokaze as a place to stay for anyone wanting to ski in Hakuba Valley.
