The staff were wonderful, so friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible stay. The breakfasts were always delicious. They have a deal with a rental store for snow activities. They had many recommendations for dinner and even made the reservations for us and dropped us at the restaurants. A wonderful and memorable stay.
Excellent service by the mgmt and support staff. We have an enjoyable and comfortable stay at this hotel. We requested for a HALAL meals. 5⭐️. Transportation arrangement for skiing and any other adventure around Hakuba Valley.
Montblanc hotel is very clean and comfortable. Included breakfasts are filling and tasty cooked food and not just continental style. The best thing about this place was the staff who were extremely helpful. I cannot rate the staff enough- they helped organize day trips and which saved us 50% in costs by doing the trip ourselves without tours. The effort and care that they show is the kind of thing $ can’t buy Bars are very near by and bus stop to main ski area is in front of the hotel. Also the hotel offered discounts for purchasing ski passes through them
We had a wonderful ski week with Kenji and his team at Montblanc. The standard room was a bit spartan and there isn't a ton of space (~15 sq meter outside bathroom), but on par with any other 2-star pensione and priced quite affordably. The location is good, while not in the heart of town like echoland, the location is right on the #3 free shuttle route, and it's also the last stop before the Goryu / Hakuba 47 parking lot (IMHO, the best ski area in Hakuba). The included breakfast is eclectic but also more substantial than one would expect at this price point. While normally the facilities and location would warrant a 4-star review, the staff here really push it above and beyond to 5-stars, with individualized care on par with the best 5-star chain hotels in Tokyo/Kyoto. Kenji the owner is always around and really goes the extra mile to make his guests trip flawless, his assistant speaks impeccable english along with a half-dozen other languages, while the chef and server in the dining room were always warm and friendly. Personalized shuttle services outside the normal free shuttle bus route (dinner, grocery, etc) are also cheerfully provided. On site iscounted lift tickets can save you a few thousand yen a day. Washer/Dryer are available if you need to do a bit of laundry. Aside from the smallish standard rooms (larger family and japanese style rooms are apparently also available), I could not recommend them more. If you are expecting a hotel with shiny lobby and american sized standard rooms, you may be better served looking towards the main part of town.…
Just had the most magical week on the snow. Our family of 5 stayed at Mont Blanc Hotel for our ski holiday. It has been the most family friendly place to stay, the location is perfect with many restaurants/bars near by within walking distance Making it very easy to eat. Well worth The convenience of ski in ski out only 5 mins walk to the gondola) We opted for a Japanese style room, very cosy and comfortable, gave us more room with all our ski gear. Mr Sakura And his wonderful friendly team are more than happy to drop and pick you up anywhere, to and from dinner, pop to seven 11 for supplies, to get rental gear, and go to near by ski hills which was so helpful with 3 kids (Including a toddler who still needed days naps). The hotel went over and above to make our experience more Memorable enjoyable. They even reserved one of the onsens in the hotel for our family to enjoy a private onsen together on the quieter evenings (usually men and woman bathe separately) it was such a nice experience to do this as a family after a long day on the slopes - very relaxing and clean. They also opened the restaurant just for us and cooked just about anything even things that were not on the menu for the kids. Mr Sukura really went above and beyond to help with our train and bus itineraries (making little maps) he helped with schedules, buying tickets, lifts to the station and suggestions on sight seeing. We broke up our ski week and did a day visit to Nagano and saw the snow monkeys (we went on a weekend day as the ski hill is more busy) Overall 10/10 for our stay at Mont Blanc Hotel, great location, family friendly, very welcoming staff. Great for large groups highly recommend staying here…
The owner and staff were so friendly and tentative. Some will find the room and toilet to be small but this is Japan. Everything is compact here. Even small but still cozy. What I like the most, this hotel cater to muslim food. Had best time here
Stayed here for a few days last year during the tail end of ski season. Room was slightly small but clean and neat. Very near to the bus stop which would bring you to the ski resort. Great service too. Would definitely recommend this place.
It's the 3rd time in 5 years i visited Hakuba and seeing some good reviews here sold us. But pls read on... There are 2 wings to this hotel, it seems we stayed at the old wing, the room is so small i cant seem to locate the correct photo from the site describing our room for 2 people. however after checking out the rooms of the new wing they seem much cleaner and more spacious. i agree this place is run by a friendly couple but unfortunately only the female owner is constantly around understands english, the other japanese staff who's always sitting at the reception does not and would need to trouble the female owner to come out (who's busy taking care of her baby) to come translate. breakfast - it is really average...even the fixed dish they take out from the kitchen is cold ....its really the bare minimal (even compared to north american standards), i hope they can provide something that is not like fast food (white bread, hash brown, cold eggs, mediocre coffee) unfortunately their onsen is just a pool of lukewarm water with absolutely no basic supplies (not even a basket to put your clothes or towel, but a rather old shelf (which we are unsure if suitable clean clothes/towel...the half broken blow dryer in the ladies room is full of clogged dust while the counters are quite aged and borderline dirty (very stained). really do not need to go and was quite disappointed because snowboarding + onsen combo was what we were looking forward to needing for our 4 day trip. they do offer a public one with additional charge and transport elsewhere but that defeats the purpose.... overall i reviewed the comments over and over and i can only agree that the owner is friendly, i wish i could give a better rating but would need to turn to another hotel next time i visit Hakuba…
Me and my wife had a really nice stay in this hotel. The main plus was the really friendly staff who were extremely helpful. We had a room with a private bathroom which was nice but basic. Similarly the breakfast was nice but basic. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!
Great place to stay with friendly staff. We will be back next season. Very close to the Goryuu ski field. Lot's of local bars and restaurants in the area. Very clean with vending machines available for reasonably priced beer.
