no regrets for choosing this hotel. the services this hotel provided was impeccable. arranges bus to fetch u at your convenience to go around the town. even though most places are within walking distance anyway. near to happo ski gondolas. packs ur room nicely everyday and replaces the consumable items. breakfast spread is reasonably good and the cheese egg toast was yummy! the futon beds are really comfy and warm. room is spacious and air conditioning working well. love the outdoor onsen in the hotel too. highly recommended.

Delightful family holiday in Hakuba Happo-one. Hotel staff were professional and helpful. They provided suggestions on where to dine in the village and the hotel van to transport us to and from the venue. They have on-site a wonderful Onsen which we availed ourselves of daily. The water bar was absolutely refreshing and a unique addition to the experience. The hotel is located within walking distance to ski fields and the bus terminal. The rooms are large and well appointed. There is a large drying room and lockers for our skis and snowboarding equipment. A yummy western and Japanese breakfast was supplied every morning. Thoroughly recommend staying here.

We stayed here based on our travel agents' recommendation. The hotel is easily seen (it's huge) from the bus terminal at Happo One and a short 10 minute walk away. Likewise also 10 minute walk from Hakuba Base at Echoland if you get dropped there. For skiers, it is a short walk to Nakiyama chairlift (base of Happo One resort) or there are plenty of shuttle buses daily to each of the other resorts that start within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel is very nice with a great bar area (awesome happy hour), on site restaurant, free Japanese onsen bath and amazing staff. There are two room types - Japanese or Western style. Our group had one of each. All beds were comfortable and large enough to fit our almost 7 foot tall friend. I personally liked the Western room better as the beds were at normal height but the Japanese room was still comfortable - personal preference really. Rooms have good heating, small but fine shower and toilet, and adequate storage space. We barely used the TV or in house tea and coffee making facilities. Our room faced the ski slopes which was great. Breakfast was included for us - egg station (cooked to order but no poached eggs available - fried or omelette) with bacon and toast. Also salad, fruit, cereals, and then a full Japanese breakfast setup with noodles, salmon, pickles etc. Coffee ok but not great (filter) and juices and tea. We also ate here for dinner once as we were too tired to go out and had lovely shabu shabu and sukiyaki hotpots. The ski storage area is great as well - each room gets a ski locker down in the basement that you can lock and there is also a drying room with free lockers. Fantastic! The hotel also provides great shuttle services - around town, to and from dinner nearby (Echoland etc) and even to some of the ski slopes (these services are timed and set to a schedule). Self serve laundry in the hotel too with free detergent provided and dryers. Vending machines in same area for beer, coffee and drinks. Finally, the staff - all speak excellent English and went out of their way to help us (even helping me up the driveway in a snowstorm!). This really is a fantastic hotel and above all my expectations. We will definitely be back!

We really liked it here and will stay again. Large onsens, good ski gear rooms, hotel shuttle bus can drop you off and pick you up around town. The bar is large, warm and a very relaxing space, we drank at happy hour every day. Restaurant is excellent and a good option for a couple of nights of week. Breakfast buffet is above average with fruit, hot foods, cereals and juices, we ate it every day. We loved the deluxe room. Staff all speak English. Vending machines are handy.

We stayed in a Japanese style family room with tatami floors and beautiful views looking at the mountains. Room was warm, very clean, and great bathroom facilities. The beds and pillows were super comfortable (the best we had during our whole Japan holiday). The staff really made the atmosphere of the hotel - very friendly and polite, always smiling, and willing to help out. The restaurant for breakfast had a good mix of eastern and western food, and was a good choice for dinner if you didn’t feel like venturing out. The bar area had a great open feel and comfortable. Good prices, especially at happy hour. The water bar was a nice touch. Good locker room area with plenty of lounges to put on boots, and a well heated seperate drying room with additional lockers and hanging space. The hotel is in a good location, very short walk to the village, and has a modern and comfortable mini bus. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here with a couple of friends for 4 nights! The room was cozy, the breakfast spread was a mix of local/international cuisine and the onsen was a great place to go unwind. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and always had a smile on their face. We interacted most with Natsumi who was knowledgeable and spoke excellent english. We also appreciated the hotel shuttle service that dropped and picked us up at our dinner places. Overall, it was a very good stay.

We stayed in an oriental style room for a skiing holiday. The room was large and the beds are the most comfortable I have had in Japan! The staff here are so nice and will help u with whatever u need. They offer a bus service to drop u places like the bus stops and organise u to pick up ski hire etc. it was cheaper than the other options our travel agent suggested, but no regrets here!

Spent 10 nights here - loved it!! location is fabulous - you can easily walk to Happo One ski, Happo village for meals and 10 minutes to Echoland. Hotel has a small bus that you can book to take/pick you up - we used it for meals at night and coffee at Echoland. Really nice Onsen and the bar area is lovely. Breakfast was also great with options for western - omelet, fired/scrambled eggs, bacon etc. Ate a couple of times at restaurant at night when too tired to go out and had lots of options and all good. Had western beds ( although mattress on the floor) but really comfortable and very spacious rooms. Staff were really helpful. Would definitely stay again

We had a great time at the Hotel Goryukan. The Hotel is at the base of one of the mountains and only couple of minutes walk to the ski lift. The Hotel is clean and the staff are welcoming and so very helpful. The food is great and the Onsen was a delightful experience. Do yourself a favor and have a massage with Manu after a day of skiing. We had a night of live jazz as well which was fantastic. We will stay here again.
