This popular hotel comprises two bedroom kitchenette suites, two bedroom family suites, deluxe twin/king rooms, twin queen rooms, compact twin/queen rooms and luxury two, three, four and five bedroom condominiums. All room types come with ensuites and mountain or tree views. The top floor lounge has stunning views of the mountains including the Olympic Ski Jump and has a pool table, lounge area and large flat screen TV. There is a second lounge with cozy fireplace and a bar at street level as well as a laundrette which is open to the public. Echo Hotel is one of Hakuba's best value for money establishments with its excellent location, spotless rooms and friendly staff. Echoland, the area it sits in the heart of, is surrounded by restaurants, shops and bars. This area known as "the village" is where most of the independent restaurants are and has a large selection of international cuisine. If you are not wanting to dine in hotel restaurants then you will more than likely come into this area at night if staying in any other area. Located in the main street this hotel is only a five minute free shuttle to Happo One or 47/Goryu Resorts. The free resort shuttle stop is right opposite the hotel and walking to either of these resorts takes 10~15mins. The hotel also offers its own morning shuttle service.

So we just left Echo Hotel after staying 7 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

The location is great and walkable to plenty of restaurants and bars. The Hakuba Base Camp is a couple of minute walk down the road for all transport needs. Plenty of ski hire places close by.

The hotel itself was great. The most comfortable beds, great water pressure, fantastic breakfast, ski room and a nice bar. We had the delux double so apart from a large bedroom (compared to usual Japanese sizing) we also had a good size lounge and plenty of storage.

The staff were mostly winter casuals but very friendly and accommodating (and also entertaining). But the stand out was John (manager). Apart from driving you to the ski fields in the mornings, picking us up on arrival and dropping us off when we left, he was the go to person for information on the weather, the best skiing areas each day, tours etc. Always around and ready to help.

Do not expect a 5* hotel but they don’t profess to be that either. It is a comfortable friendly hotel that I would absolutely return to.

in all my travels around the world I have to say the service, support and accomodation to guests was the best I have experienced.

John leads the team and they all super friendly and there to assist in every way to make your stay in Hukaba the best it can be.

Highly recommend this accomodation Echo Hotel.

Rooms were massive, breakfast extensive and delicious, complimentary shuttles to the main mountains across the morning (Saves having to get the shared village buses). Pool table, video machine.

Definitely coming back

This modern boutique hotel is well appointed, clean and tidy. The breakfast is great. It has a lounge space upstairs with pool table. Rooms and lounge have Apple TV so you can play your favourite streams (something I have never seen in any hotel) - the lounge also has views of the mountain.

I must also give a shout out to Koichi-san, the manager, who is a pleasure to deal with and keeps everything running like clockwork.

We've stayed at the Echo Hotel many times now and it never disappoints. You know you love staying somewhere when you jump into the big comfy king size bed on the first night and feel like you're "back home". Staff are great, always fun and very helpful. Being smack bang in the middle of the restaurant area the Echo Hotel is perfect for the end of the day when your legs are done from skiing. Not to mention the Snow'd Inn bar downstairs for après recovery drinks. Breakfast in the dining room upstairs is a great way to start the day - good food and beautiful views. Living the dream.
Big thank you to the team at the Echo Hotel for once again making our holiday so special!

Weren’t staying here but excellent service from manager when pre booked taxi did not arrive. He went out of his way to call and organise another taxi even though we were not hotel guests. If this is the service for visitors, imagine being a guest. 5 star service.

This hotel is in a fantastic location in Echoland, close to everything and right next door to a great coffee shop called Sounds Like Cafe. There are also a lot of great restaurants within walking distance. We would also walk to the onsen at Hotel Oak Forest as it was the best one that we found.

Our 3 brm apartment was superb, loads of space and the beds (western style) were supremely comfortable after a long day skiing.

Tina at Snowbeds was wonderful with all of her assistance regarding our booking as it was our first trip to japan for skiing so we had lots of questions which she very patiently answered.

The staff at the hotel were really lovely and tried to help as much as they could whenever possible however we were a bit disappointed at the level of service at times (the majority of staff are their to board and ski, hospitality is not their profession).

We had a wonderful holiday and can highly recommend Hakuba, the snow was incredible and we had quite a few blue bird days. If you need ski lessons use Hakuba snow sports, they were brilliant and if you are book private lesson sessions they will usually come and pick you up from your hotel.

We recently stayed at Echo Hotel in Hakuba for 6 nights over Christmas 2014 and all I can say is the place is amazing and the staff at Echo Hotel are fantastic. We travelled with 10 people, 2 families with 3 kids each ranging from 7-17yrs old.. When travelling in a big group we know it can be hard, but the facilities, food and service the staff provided was outstanding, tons of local knowledge on what bus to catch to what mountain to ski for the day and also what local restaurant and onsen would suit best. If Ingrid (manager) or her team didn't know, they would find out! Big thanks also goes to Tina from Snowbeds Travel who we booked the package through, great service and was always on hands to answer our questions and everything went smoothly....also the ski and snow boarding gear we hired from Spicy Rental was great quality and the last but not least, the beds are Echo were like sleeping on clouds, just what we all needed after hitting the slops all day!

Booked through Snowbeds Travel this hotel was everything and more than what was advertised. Thank you Tina for all your helpful information which was a great help in putting our package together. The hotel is situated right in the centre of the village, so going out for meals etc. Was just so easy. The free bus up to the resorts stops right opposite the hotel, so this was just too good to be true. Mitch at the hotel was just a great source of local information, and his help in all ways was unreal. We cannot wait till next season, so we can return.........thanks guys.

My husband and three teenage boys went to Hakuba and arrived at 0200hrs on the 22nd December 2012 - after being picked up at Narita Airport, Tokyo and driven the nearly 6 hour drive. The Mini van that picked us up was warm and very comfortable. The driver was lovely, courteous and accommodating when needing toilet stops. Tina at Snowbeds had organised this service and we will use it again in December this year when we go back. We had the kitchenette/2 bedroom suite on the first floor and cannot complain about anything. The staff, especially Ali were wonderful and we missed them very much when we went onto Toyko for another 6 days. We are in the process or organising flights and accommodation at the moment for another 15 days at the Echo Hotel in December 2013/January 2014., we loved the village atmosphere of Hakuba and the genuine kindness of everyone we met on our trip. Echo Hotel will become our home base for many years of skiing, we loved it. Roll on Christmas!!

Our family of five, and a friend stayed at the Echo Hotel in January this year. We loved the hotel - the staff were fantastic, the rooms very clean and comfortable, and the location wonderful as we were able to walk to a different restaurant every evening. The shuttle stopped just across the road so we were able to get to and from the slopes very easily. We stayed in a 2 bedroom kitchenette suite, and our daughter and friend shared a twin room. Although the bathrooms were small, the bedrooms were spacious and the wardrobes great. We loved the downstairs bar area during the evenings, and really appreciated the cooked breakfast every morning. The laundry was very convenient – important when travelling with a family! A special thankyou to Steve for waiting up for us until 3.30 am the first morning, and to all of the staff for their wonderful service. Booking through Tina and Snowbeds was incredibly easy, and the machine generated automatic quotes made planning the holiday and comparing accommodation rates simple. We loved the holiday so much we have booked a condo for next year!
