From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, the staff made our stay wonderful. We were greeted with tea and sat in front of their fireplace while we got checked in. We immediately decided to extend our stay by 3 nights and they were really accommodating. Our room was beautiful, with a huge comfy bed and a lovely bathroom. It was really clean. The staff were so happy to help with whatever we asked, and they have a driver on site who takes you to and from the ski slopes. They even organise pick up and drop off of your ski equipment. I would highly recommend this hotel. We stayed here for our honeymoon and they made it feel so magical, and even gave us a gift. We can't wait to come back here!

Located at the base of the Happone ski area, most all guests were skier/snowboarders. From its name higashikan (east wing), it was located a short walk from its main building. Comparatively newer, smaller and cozy. We received an upgrade to a corner room with jacuzzi, as the hotel was sparse with people due to a very unusually warm winter with almost no snow. The dining room was large for a small hotel so we suspect there are usually many dining-only guests. Nice french course dinner and a short but interesting and eclectic wine list. Breakfast was also nicely arranged. Highlight of the stay was the entertainment during dinner. The wooded area just outside the dining room was well lit. Various furry visitors arrived during dinner. The hotel places leftover bread in the woods. We had fox, wild boar, and other surprise furry friends. The lobby area is small but furnished well and with a fireplace. Friendly staff, most english-speaking, and management greetings upon arrival and for departure. Very well run. We drove to a nearby public onsen bath for a nice warming dip before dinner adding to a relaxing stay.

We stayed 5 nights in early January. The snow wasn’t as good as hoped (it rained 2 days) but the hotel was lovely. It has a European/British country hotel feel and is surrounded by trees. We booked 2 corner rooms and on the days it did snow it was so tranquil to watch the falling snow particularly at night when the grounds were lit. The food was good and there was a snack corner with free snacks - biscuits, jellies, popcorn, marshmallows, coffee, tea and juices - throughout the day. The rooms had large jacuzzis but no on site onsen. There was free transport out of the hotel but you had to find your own way back. We found it was easiest just to get the restaurants to call us taxis. We opted for half board but I would advise others to book not more than half your dinners at the hotel as there are so many good restaurants in Hakuba. Finally the best part - the exemplary service. From the time we checked in to the time we left, the service was faultless. Kudos to the staff. Highly recommend.

10/10 stars. I stay at a lot of hotels (not trying to sound like a snob) and this place is absolutely perfect. The staff is ridiculously attentive and makes you feel like you are the only guest at the hotel. They met every single need and surpassed my expectations by a mile. The food is exceptional too. We stayed there right after we got engaged and they gave us this gift when we left.

Stayed for 5 nights to go skiing and thought the hotel was fantastic. We were picked up from the bus station and taken to the hotel where we were warmly greeted and at once knew we were going to enjoy our stay. Our room was a standard one but was really roomy with comfy beds, everything was so clean and the bathroom large with a nice deep bath. Breakfast had plenty choice on the buffet and you can order from a menu as well you definitely won't go hungry. We ate in the hotel 2 nights ( in the cheaper of the 2 restaurants) and the food was really good. You're taken to the ski lift every morning and collected at the end of the day and as everyone has said your boots are set out for you in the morning and your shoes waiting for you at night, but what sets this hotel apart from the rest is the staff, everyone is fantastic so helpful, always smiling, nothing is to much bother for them, they really do make you feel special. Not far to walk from a couple of restaurants if you don't want to eat in hotel.

We had 13 nights here and it was a really delightful stay. The staff were wonderful - nothing was too much trouble. They were so helpful and friendly, and they really made you feel special. By the time we left we really felt close to many of them. The rooms were very comfortable and fairly spacious. However two negatives of the room we stayed in were that in the bathroom it had a cold tile floor (very cold) so we had to keep the bathmat and a hand-towel down on the floor to be able to somewhat comfortably use the bathroom with bare feet. Also the hot water took *ages* to come out, i.e. with it on maximum flow and maximum heat it took 1.5 minutes to get to get hot water out). They have a wonderful shuttle service to take you up to the ski field. There are two dinner restaurants here. The French one was just wonderful (we ate there three times) - it was quite expensive but every time we went we felt that the quality of the food and the service left us feeling very happy with the value for money. They also had a more casual dining area which we also went to three times - this was much more average quality (in terms of both the service and also the quality of the food). The breakfast buffet was top quality with a lot of choice.

We stayed 3 nights at this lovely place. The uniqueness of this hotel is the service level of all the staffs and the ultra convenience for skiers/snowboarders. Ur ski boots will be nicely placed near the door for u and when u return , they do the same for ur shoes so u can conveniently change out. Moreover the warm welcome by Ms Okamoto everytime after we got back from our ski sessions was so heartwarming. She gave us really useful information and tips on where to ski which really benefited us greatly. We felt we were returning to a home instead of a hotel. And U dun hv to worry about lugging ur skis after renting from the shop and they do the returns for u when u leave. The courtesy transfer service they provide to some nearby popular spots is also a bliss. To add on , their half board is highly recommended . The nightly dinners were such gourmet delights that me and my husband looked forward to every night. They spared no expense to change the ingredients to cater to my dietary requirements and not just replace with some make do dish just to do the job. Oh some wild animals sightings during dinner were a bonus. Last but not least , the servers were so attentive and friendly that we truly enjoyed all our meals at the restaurant. We will definitely return!

We are a family of 4 (kids 12 and 14).. stayed at the junior suite at the hotel. The hotel was the highlight of our trip to Hakuba. - Service: haven’t seen better service than this. Masa-san and the front office girls were incredibly friendly and helpful (booking taxis from /to Nagano, restaurants, etc)... they clearly went out of the way to welcome us and help us with the skis /equipment daily. Masa-san was very prompt and helpful In his emails (even before we reached ) to give us options on ski lessons, restaurants, taxis, etc. - Room: the junior suite was a decent size for a family of 4, with a very large jacuzzi. The only drawback was no onsen at the hotel...but we used the one at Shimosan. - Location: The hotel is at Wadano, slightly away from the main village, but most restaurants are 10-15 mins drive by taxi (though getting back was a hassle as taxis were not as easy to get). The ski slope was a 20mins drive for us. - Food: breakfast was very sumptuous with good western breakfast options. Overall would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hakuba.

Excellent and very thoughtful service. Little details like bringing your skis back from the shop down the street after you choose your rentals to having your shoes ready at the front lobby when you return from the gondola. They also have tea Only downside is this is not ski in and out, however they do provide you with car service to and from the Happo One Gondola as well as pick up and drop off at the Happo One bus terminal. Important to note, most places we found were not ski in and out. The breakfast was delicious and the staff at the restaurant and lobby were great. The rooms were very old fashioned (think little French villa in Japan) but super clean and charming. They also had aromatherapy associates toiletries and an in room jacuzzi.

I'm a single mum, travelling with 3 kids - 15, 13 and 9. We've just returned from 5 nights at La Neige, staying in one of their 2 bed chalets. As you will read in almost every trip adviser review, the service here is extraordinary. From the moment you arrive all of the staff are warm, friendly and helpful. Mimi San at reception deserves very special mention. I'd been nervous about skiing with 3 kids on my own, but the staff made it so easy. They kept all of our ski equipment in their storage area and brought it out for us each morning. They helped me get to the right slopes for us each day and coordinated our ski lessons. Of an afternoon they would actually run down the driveway to meet us at the bus and help us carry all of our gear. If you have kids, you will know how helpful this is! The chalet itself was large, well appointed, comfortable, warm and very clean. They are set in the beautiful grounds of the hotel, giving my kids heaps of space to play in the snow and toboggan - which was one of their highlights. It was so picturesque and quiet I wish I could have stayed for much longer. We loved it so much we are keen to book again for next year and couldn't imagine staying anywhere else.
