Istmo Bungalows have some of the most comfortable beds you have ever slept on, low-key luxury for the nature lover who requires comfort. We are located at Playa Grande, San Carlos 1 hour 15 minutes outside of Panama City. Our property is a short 5 minute walk from the tranquil Playa Grande beach, which is an infrequently visited and has natural shade.

I went with my family (2 adult & 1 girl 9 years old). The Cabin was good in cleaning and facilities, I just suggest them to offer breakfast and a pool facility when people return from the beach . Excellent attention of Sean. Very good guy and always try to solve everything.

My friends and I really enjoyed staying in this bungalows. Everything was clean and the host was really nice. The beach is also pretty close to the place. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for something near Panama City.

We had a great time at Istmo. The rooms were very comfortable and we found everything we needed in the kitchen. This is a very secluded place, close to a beautiful beach. My kids enjoyed exploring the place and we felt very safe letting them do it.

Istmo is a real gem. We were looking for somewhere (pet friendly / child friendly) to go after 6 months locked down in Panamá City, and this was it. Highlights:- property grounds are lovely, lots of wildlife and greenery, and space to explore. The cabin was well situated for privacy, very clean and comfortable. We really liked hanging out in the restaurant/bar area, and the meals we had there were good. There were no cooking facilities available to us, which would have been handy, but the owners were in the process of installing kitchens for guests which will be a great added facility. Overall, we loved the place and would definitely like to visit again. Note: You need to have pretty good mobility to get around (quite a lot of stairs) and walking to the beach was hot and hard on little legs. There was no wardrobe in the cabin. Plenty of hooks and shelf space, so not a problem, but unusual for cabin in Panama in our experience, so might be useful to know in advance. …

Istmo was the perfect spot for a yoga retreat. The studio was surrounded by nature, and the beach was only a moments walk away.Very relaxing experience! My group enjoyed their experience at Istmo. We will definitely return!
