The surroundings of this hotel is packed with lush greenery, weather rather cooling and the public bath is to go for. Dinner and breakfast were inclusive in this package and the room itself was huge as compared to the regular city places. reception service was mediocre, whilst we found the service staff at the restaurant to be more friendly. This hotel is kids friendly, nonetheless the area was huge enough to have that bit of quietness and zen for yourself.

It's a newly renovated hotel situated in a valley. The management group runs three sister hotels in the region. I like Kitayuzawa Mori no Soraniwa because (1) the floor-to-ceiling window wall frames a stunning snowy mountain scene in a super spacious lobby; (2) during day time you can access to the outdoor onsen-water swimming area for families; and (3) they have a huge play houses for kids in basement. This hotel is in contracts with tour groups so you will see groups check in. But the hotel is so big that they manage to accommodate the needs of tour groups as well as individual family parties like us. Dinner and breakfast buffers provide a wide range of choices and the roomy dining halls would allow you to enjoy your meals quite comfortably.

We were on a 7-day tour of Hokkaido. Our tour arranged for us a 1 night stay here. Wow! Everyone was amazed and impressed by this wonderful hotel. Located away from all the busy happenings, but i still say its the best in town. Very new n spacious lobby, very huge restaurant for guest, lots of varieties for breakfast, all the staff are very well trained, friendly, polite n helpful...very welcoming. Room is big n clean. There is a onsen hot spring in the hotel itself. Wow! You can even find a nice Wedding Chapel right next to the hotel. A crystal clear river nearby, fresh air in surrounding. Love this hotel.

It took me a while to decide on kohantei @ lake toya vs this hotel. I had read numerous complain on kohantei about the tourist group and tired rooms. I am so so glad i finally chosed this hotel. The lobby area was stunning..and new..everything here was tip top condition...the dressing room after onsen was very clean and provided everything you need including shiseido lotion. And for the kids...there was santa claus hunting game..omg.their goodie bags reward was nothing i imagine..it was a big bag of food for the kids..there was also heated pool ..playground by the dining area. The buffet was alright...too much selection..took a while to make a trip each time. I strongly encourage ppl to try this hotel. By the way theres another hotel 2min drive away which look exact..so becareful. This hotel have a forest in the sign.…

Stayed there for only one night and I found the hotel to be both modern and traditional. Nice big comfortable room with a Japanese style. Amenities such as a fridge, coffee and tea as well as a wide assortment of toiletries were provided. The onsen was very nice and big with both indoor and outdoor pools as well as very nice bathing facilities. Breakfast was fantastic with a very large dining area and a large verity of food ranging from asian to western. The drawbacks are that there is no internet connection at all and the bathroom in the room is very small and there are no shops nearby. There are many vending machines to buy drinks.

5th day into the 9 days package tour amd have used a few hotels and this is the best by far. The buffet dinner has a wide spread of food, spacious and witg a kids play area in the corner. Onsen has 5 indoor pools and 1 outdoor pool, there's 1 communal pool, din try that. Need to wear swim suit. A games area and karaok in the basement. Very enjoyable stay.

Followed tour group and slept for one night. Arrived at 5pm, just nice for Onsen before dinner. Room is huge with both tatami style and beds to sleep in....nice view when windows are open. Dinner is buffet style in the hotel. Huge place with lots to eat! Onsen is very relaxing and loved the outdoor Onsen! Hot in the water but face is cold with the evening breeze! After dinner, rested for an hour before heading off to next round of Onsen! Next morning woke up at 4am, as the Onsen is opened at 3:30am! Had another soak before heading for breakfast at 7am. Will definitely return to this lovely location again!

1-minute walk from Shikotsu Toya National Park. There is no wifi here. So just relax, enjoy the surrounding nature, the healthy food, the fresh air and the onsen. The restaurant serves a very wide spread of Japanese dishes. The sushi and sashimi are fresh. The tempura is freshly cooked, and the beef is tender and juicy. The onsen has both indoor and outdoor section. The room is spacious.
