We stayed at the hotel for 1 night and had a great time. The rooms were good with everything we needed. on arrival checkin was easy and they respected Covid taking our temperature and seating area distanced properly. We decided to order sandwiches for lunch which were great. Served with Salad coleslaw and Nachos and reasonably priced. Bar prices good too. We were on a Wowcher deal so tea was included we thanked the chef as the food was so good and plentiful. All credit to the bar staff and waitresses they do a great job and they made our stay brilliant. We will definitely be returning hopefully soon.

Absolutely everything about our stay here was brilliant. We were greeted by Helen, the manager or owner I think. She was lovely. She explained everything we needed to know then told us, when we were ready, come and find her and she’d sort us out with drinks. We went to our room which was spotlessly clean and very large and comfortable. We spent the next couple of hours in a real sun trap of a garden with a bottle of excellent Prosecco (£16, which is very cheap) and real ales (£3.10 pint bottles). We were on a £79 dinner (main only) bed and breakfast, plus a glass of wine or a pint each, deal. Dinner was lovely. We both had a fillet steak, which was priced at £19 with no supplement to our £79 deal. We also had a black pudding and a Brie starter. All the food was lovely. Sauce on the black pudding is worthy of a thumbs up mention. We slept well and went for breakfast. Well…. What a breakfast! Both had full English. It was amazing. Honestly neither of us could remember having a nicer cooked breakfast ever. The sausage, bacon and black pudding were quality. Obviously proper butcher meat, not economy frozen. For some reason the mushrooms were just divine?! Loads of it, half a tin of beans each I should think. Lovely Earl Gray tea and coffee. And all served by a really nice, really friendly waitress.

If you’re in the area, this is the place to stay. Thank you so much. NB, we skipped lunch ;)

What a find! Booked via a Wowcher deal, so we weren't expecting it to be amazing. How wrong we were!! The hotel is situated in a gloriously peaceful location, yet just a 10/15 minute drive from various areas of interest.
The hotel itself, although maybe a little dated in terms of decor, was immaculately clean and well presented. A lovely warm and inviting bar area, with incredibly reasonable prices for the drinks.
We ate there on both nights of our stay and, without doubt, it was some of the best food we'd ever eaten....Freshly prepared, delicious and very reasonably. My Partner actually went as far as to say that the chicken dish she'd had was "probably the best thing I've ever eaten!"
Friday night was steak night, it gets very busy, and the steaks were cooked to perfection!
Our room was much larger than we expected it to be, was very well decorated and spotlessly clean!
Finally, I have to mention the staff. Every single one we came into contact with was incredibly friendly, professional and welcoming...A credit to the hotel.
Without hesitation, when we get the chance to visit the area again, we'll stay at The Wheyrigg Hotel.

We found the hotel clean and tidy. The staff were OK – not overly helpful, nor unhelpful. They seemed to be lost in their own world, generally sombre. It is a relatively small hotel, in the middle of fields, but you cannot walk into those fields. There isn't anywhere to go for a walk, except if you drive away from the hotel. There is a small garden, adjacent to the hotel, but it was unkempt with overgrown shrubs and grass. The shrubs on either side of the path in the centre of the garden had engulfed the path, even in August. We were in a family room with a double bed and a single bed. We found the bed comfortable. The shower and toilet door had no latch or locking mechanism, which annoyed us. The partition walls between rooms are terrible (almost like cardboard – depending on the sounds). Depending on who you are staying with, you can find yourself in a very embarrassing situation during the night. For us, this was one of the worst aspects of the hotel. The hotel restaurant (not included in your room hire) has very little to offer for strict vegans and vegetarians. We ate there on our first night and then resorted to eating out in the nearest towns and tourist attractions (Wigton being the closest). The breakfast (included in your room hire) was good – for vegans/vegetarians and meat-eaters. The menu had enough to keep us happy (albeit, the same every morning). The availability of 'free' tea, coffee and biscuits in the room was appreciated and benefited from. Considering the relatively competitive price and the location (distance from the Lake District), I would give Wheyrigg Hall Hotel an overall rating of 7/10.

Stayed one night on a voucher with evening meal included, had to cancel last minute and the lady was very understanding and accommodating to another date. The hotel is traditional, quirky, nipping clean, the staff were pleasant and friendly, the food was home cooked and delicious. We read reviews before booking and people commented on it being dated… but that is what this hotel is , its a step back to the 80s , if that’s not your thing then book a Travelodge. We reminisced about the wall lights and decor which adds to the character of the place making it what it is .. a cosy, homely hotel . Thoroughly enjoyed our stay 🥰

Terrible hotel. Heating system broke so we had to sleep with the radiator on full on one of the hottest nights so far… booked for 2 nights, checked out after 1 with no partial refund or apology. I understand these things happen but we should have been pre warned and re-arranged. Room itself was clean but really dated. Ate evening meal in a room where a wedding had been happening with fights going on, we were offered to move but at least it was cool in there. Meal wasn’t great. Def wouldn’t go back.

This very friendly hotel is near to Silloth were the golf competition was on, we had a wonderful welcome and the Staff and owner couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. The food was typical pub food and very good, very reasonably priced, service excellent.
The hotel is very clean, the only thing I would say is the rooms need updating, if you love a traditional old fashioned pub/hotel then this is ideal.

I have used this hotel a number of times before and was once again delighted by the service offered. The bed (room 3) was super comfy and I slept like a log. The evening meal and breakfast were, as usual, really well cooked with great service. Steak Pie is my 'Go to' dish and this one was absolutely first class, tasty, proper pie (pastry top and bottom), succulent steak and really lovely gravy topped off with masses of veg.

We stayed six nights at Wheyrigg Hall and the longer we stayed, the more we liked it. Our room had complete privacy and was large and bright, large enough to be a lounge as well as a bedroom, with a good-sized tv.
The staff were very friendly, the breakfasts were excellent - and huge! Evening meals were very tasty - high quality pub food I’d say. Although it is quite a way from anywhere else, it was clearly popular with the locals too, as the restaurant was always full.

Stayed over last weekend and what a find this place is !! Everything about the place is fantastic from the rooms to the food and the friendly locals, and best of all the Staff !! They seriously are just THE friendliest and most helpful staff you could ever wish to meet !!
Friday steak night was just sublime and a real good bargain, breakfast on both days was also first class
as was the price and selection of beers not your usual rip off prices that you find in out of the way hotels
Countryside views all around and so quiet and peaceful with a nice beer garden to relax in too
Won't hesitate to stay again if in that area and would very highly recommend to all !!
