Enjoyed our 2 nights accommodation at a very reasonable price. There were some minor issues with the room. When opening the Righthand side of the wardrobe door it struck the bedroom door closure every time I used the wardrobe making quite a bang. The wardrobe door jumping back just missed my face each time. Needed a warning on the wardrobe door that it collided with the closure when opening. A twin room but only one bedside light made it difficult for me to read at night. There was not a socket on that side of the bed and 2 of us could not charge our phones up at the same time. In the bathroom 1 hand towel and 1 bath mat. I requested another hand towel and was given another bath mat and told that they were under the heading of hand towels in the stock room. It was to stand on when getting out of the bath. I appreciate that it is a very ancient building but the squeaking of the floor boards above was excessive especially as above us were 2 heavy gentlemen who seemed to walk about all night until 2am. Very noisy ceiling. Staff were friendly

We booked the £125 for the full day spa. Amazing treatments you could either get a 50 minute and 25 minute or 3 x 25 minute treatments. The therapists were lovely and the massage and facial were faultless. Although the spa is small is was relaxing, modern and clean. In the deal we got pastries and drink on arrival, either two course meal or afternoon tea. We got the two course meal and the food was lovely. We also got a small bottle of Prosecco each. Will definitely be booking again great value for money.

I have been previously, on many occasions over the years pre-Covid, and although the team always made me feel welcome, the hotel & spa was looking old and tired and desperately needed a makeover... BUT WOW! What a transformation! An overnight spa break in this newly refurbished spa hotel, was a really lovely treat...had a totally relaxed time, in lovely surroundings. The pool and Jacuzzi area is clean and sleek with new flooring and a HUGE screen showing a roaring fire, and a calm sea. (The loop of screens could be added to further I think) but such a difference... The treatments were fantastic, and the new treatment rooms are relaxing, and the music just right to create a calming experience. The therapists were so lovely, and deserve a special mention, so THANK YOU to Michelle and Janet, you are fab! The evening meal in the restaurant was amazing, it looked and tasted great, and all the team made us feel welcome. The bedroom was exactly as described, being refurbished in contemporary colours, the bed comfy and the en-suite was perfect, and included complimentary toiletries too. Oh, and tea and coffee making facilities, a hair-dryer and clean fluffy towels. Definitely worth a stay folks... this little gem of a spa hotel is worth every penny.

This has been advertised as a hen friendly spa. We were not able to hear each other talking but were asked to quieten down. In all we were ‘told off ‘ three times ( we were not being rowdy). It felt worse than being at school and made us all feel very awkward and not able to enjoy ourselves. This is not a venue for a group who wish to converse… you’re only welcome if you lie down quietly!!

Would of been 5 star but there was dirty tissue round jacuzzi and no bin to be found … plus we were not told that the high tea was served in the hotel so had to quickly get dressed which was not acceptable as we were not ready and had a mad rush to get over there

On route home from a lovely surprise night away for my 30th Birthday! My partner said it was a gamble booking this hotel as we had never been but it did not dissapoint! We were treated to a free upgrade to a delux room and it was absolutely stunning. One of the nicest rooms I’ve ever stayed in (room 8). Room was huge, but cosy. Bed was comfy and the room was so lovely and clean. We had breakfast and dinner and both meals were lovely. All the staff were nice and all in all it was just a lovely stay and we will definitely be back again to make use of the spa! We would even like to enquire in the near future about our wedding because the venue is jusr lovely and I imagine the grounds to be lovely in the spring too!

A lovely spa experience! Booked an overnight spa stay with my daughter and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were amazing, especially Ashley in the spa. The restaurant staff were so helpful and friendly and the food was lovely. Spa was very clean and massage and facial was so nice. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break. We will be returning.

Our family came here for a much needed break. The staff as always were amazing from start to finish. The food was as good as we have had in any 5 star hotel. Always piping hot, always flavoursome and all locally sourced. Service was impeccable. The spa is fantastic. The hotel which we have been coming to now for over 5 years has undergone some really nice refurbishments, these refurbs are still on going and just add to the overall experience. Please ignore the negative reviews and come try for yourselves. The Manor House really is a hidden gem. If anything isn't to your liking during your visit, just let one of the staff know and everything in their power will be done to rectify. As always a pleasure to stay at this wonderful hotel. We will be definitely back. Best value for money in the North East in our humble opinion.

The staff were very good, the massage was amazing. Food was of good quality. The hotel and Spa were clean and well decorated. Our bedroom was cold, the bathroom was distinctly arctic. The radiators and provided tiny heater, did little to dispel the cold. The "lockers" are misnamed as they dont lock, so there is nowhere secure to leave clothes and belongings during a treatment. A robe and towel were provided, but no slippers, and the poolside route to the treatment rooms was wet and slippery.
