The food is fab. I had vegan platter and the rice pudding creme bruise was to die for! I have since tried this at home! Clean, good service, helpful staff, good location. The very large lounge with log burner is great for a cold, wet afternoon drinking from the bar and playing

Went for Sunday lunch, what a mistake! No atmosphere and freezing cold! Dinner was cold, roast potatoes frozen not fresh, clearly reheated. Sat at the back near a man cleaning the next room playing music off his phone. Not worth nearly £15 for a dinner, would not recommend.

What a disappointing review. You should have said that you were cold and we would have either of moved you or turned up the heating. We have log fires throughout which are always lit and there are radiators everywhere. Cant do much about the atmosphere ! We will speak to whoever was playing their music, not good. Our potatoes aren't frozen, we cook them fresh. We cant do anything now, what you should have done is complain at the time and we could have tried our best to make your visit an enjoyable one. You would have been asked at the time by the waiter / waitress if everything was ok and if you didn't say then its out of our hands unfortunately ! Yours sincerely Sarah, Vicky, Katy and Eleanor

We have just enjoyed a most amazing new year break at the Red Lion. Despite its size of an operation every guest is made to feel special and warmly welcome. Great attention to detail in the service( a lovely personal welcome bag in our room) and a brilliant New Years Eve

Thank You for your enquiry. In the Red Lion we do not have a night porter so these rooms are not suitable for late access. The rooms in our BB The Manor House are suitable. If you are unsure give us a ring and we can help you.
