A very pretty setting conducive to relaxation on the heights of Toulouse. Frédéric takes great care of his guests and knows how to respond to all requests. As part of our family reunion on August 15, everything was perfect, we were able to take full advantage of all the places and benefit from breakfasts served with care, enhanced with homemade preparations, fresh breads and various local products. A beautiful address out of sight but also a few minutes from the city.

A nice break of two quiet nights at Frédéric's, in a very beautiful environment. Relaxing swimming spa after the visits and a great quality breakfast served by Jade who took great care of us 😍 We will come back for sure! Hug Jazz 😉 Sandrine Christophe and Maëlyne from Brittany.

Carpe Diem Tolosa is situated in a small village circa 10km south of the centre of Toulouse. Travel to the city centre is quick and easy by either car or by the underground metro service (both circa 15 mins).
The welcome from Frédéric was warm and friendly. He was always available and willing to provide pretty much anything we wanted, whether it be information and literature on the numerous superb places to visit in the region, access to the internet via a free Wi-Fi connection or a simple chat about his goats and chickens that wander around the large expanse of gardens and fields surrounding the house. Fortunately, access to the huge Jacuzzi and indoor swimming pool is restricted to guests!
We ate out at different local restaurants recommended by Frédéric during our five night stay but used superb outdoor kitchen and dining area at Carpe Diem on our last night to enjoy BBQ'd duck, fresh produce and local wine bought from the local market circa 5 mins drive away.
Breakfast at Carpe Diem is a joy - fresh bread and patisserie, home made jams, fresh salad, local yoghurt and freshly squeezed juice. A fine start to any day.
Our room (Nocte), one of four upstairs in the main house, is tastefully decorated, well maintained and lacking in nothing. Carpe Diem also has a studio and a gite in an annex.
All in all a beautiful place. We will return.

I stayed here with my 8 year old nephew and family. We were welcomed kindly and the place is really pretty. However there was a hen party staying in the villa ajoining. They were very quiet but it meant we could not use the terrace and were told to only use spa/pool if they were not. In the morning there was no hot water to shower and I was told by a rather disbelieving host firstly that this was not true and then that this was because it had all been used by the hen party. The place was too full for it to be relaxing and we were told off for laughing and joking in the spa at 7pm. Everytime we used the pool the hosts father appeared and whilst he was nice it was odd that he just watched us. He also joined us on our evening walks a few paces behind and sat opposite us at the veiw point...I think they thought we needed keeping an eye on and indeed our host F did mention cameras on the spa ( I am sure he was joking but its not a good one!!!) It was a mixed bag to be honest with some lovely elements( mainly the setting) Whilst it is billed as being tranquil it was rather full and had many rules. My nephew is really well behaved and loved the dog, spa and walks surrounding but he was told off for having fun and this really shattered the feeling of being welcome for all of us.

Response from carpediemtolosa, Propriétaire at Carpe Diem Tolosa
Responded 21 Sept 2017
Thank you first for your message because it is very useful to improve our service. I think there was a misunderstanding about the use of aquatic spaces. Even if there were other people during your stay, the access is free and you could therefore enjoy what you did. The space at the Spa de Nage is a space for relaxation, which is why I ask that the parents ensure the serenity of the place, the pool area being more conducive to games and laughter. I am nevertheless pleased to read that you have enjoyed the place and I will be sure in the future to have been understood. Frédéric

After staying in a number of inner-city Toulouse locations for work-trips, I chose to stay here because it seemed like a relaxing place to be. It was indeed. I had the studio appartment "Bellevue". The place was very quiet. All is there that you need (kitchenette, bathroom with shower etc etc). The wireless internet was very fast. There is a jacuzzi just outside the door. The fold-out sofa bed is comfortable and is 140cm wide and probably 180cm long. It is made for "smaller" people, my feet hung over the edge. There is another appartment onsite which could be more spacious for couples.
Some things to note: it is out of the way. If you don't have a car it is a bit difficult, but manageable: you need to "order" the bus TAD119 at least two hours before you want to leave. You can do this by phone, but the internet is easier for non-english speakers. The owner can help you set up a login account for the www.tisseo.fr website (which is only in French). You search for your connection (from "Chemin du Canti" to wherever) and then select the desired time and an option will come up for login and password and then you enter the number of travellers and presto, bus reserved. It pays to turn up to the bus stop (10 min walk max) about 10 min early (sometimes the bus was early, usually a bit late).
Taxi drivers generally don't know where it is, so it helps to have a printed out map with address for them to type into their navi.
There are no shops nearby, so if you are hunting for supplies, you will need to go into Toulouse.

This fall my husband and I stayed five weeks at the gite Carpe Diem. Once again, just like last year we enjoyed our stay very much. The gite is very comfortable and very attractive with all the amenities one could hope for. The surroundings, beautiful gardens, big trees and magnificent views, bring so much relaxation and peace. The proprietor, Frederic, and his family are always ready to help in any way possible. Once again we felt at home.
In addition to the beautiful surroundings, the proximity of the little village LaCroix Falgarde made shopping so easy: great boulangerie/patisserie, butcher, fish market, mini super market, flowers shop etc...
For sure we will be returning next year.

My husband and I have been passing our vacations for many years on the heights South of Toulouse and we’ve now found the best gite ever, at Carpe Diem, in Vieille-Toulouse, one of Toulouse’s most select and beautiful suburbs.
Our very spacious gite had beautiful and varied views from each bedroom, the kitchen and living room – Toulouse city lights to the Northeast, a tranquil farm valley to the East, and Carpe Diem’s surrounding property of rolling hills. Carpe Diem facilities include a wonderful spa, a large swimming pool, outdoor patio and dining area complete with full sink, refrigerator, gas stove and wood-fired BBQ for outdoor meals. Just a few kilometers away at La Croix Falgarde, one finds a wonderful bakery and pastry shop, a fresh fish seller, a butcher, a wine shop, a mini-market, a “Tabac” for your newspapers, a restaurant and other conveniences.
In the surrounding region there are many hiking trails and historic sites to be visited. Frederic, the proprietor, provided guides and maps in our gite. We felt at home, with a modern kitchen, excellent sound insulation, double paned windows, flat screen TV, wi-fi and, for the winter, floor radiated heat. Carpe Diem also provides accommodation in “chambres d’hotes” to visitors seeking shorter term accommodation. We were well taken care by Frederic with thoughtful touches like a bottle of wine to welcome us and fresh bread in the morning.
Frederic, being very eco-conscious, is also a keen recycler and likes to see vegetables scraps, etc. going to the care of the 3 goats, a lamb, 4-5 chickens and a fat, white rabbit. He, along with other members of his family, were always very friendly, helpful and anxious to share their knowledge of the area. We stayed in the gite Carpe Diem three weeks and we look forward to returning soon.
