Hotel LIVVO Lago Taurito garners praise for its cleanliness and strategic location near the beach, though it draws mixed reactions regarding its water park and pool amenities. Guests appreciate the spacious rooms but often point out the need for updates and improved comfort. While some visitors enjoy the vibrant evening entertainment, others find it lacks variety and the hotel's overall atmosphere is dulled by dated decor. The service receives both commendations for friendliness and criticism over room preparation. Notably, noise levels due to entertainment and air conditioning are a significant concern for many guests.

So let me start with the positive as there is many

Check in was easy fast and efficient before we got our room key the receptionist told us to go and enjoy our evening meal before the restaurant closes which I thought was nice, once in our room we found it give a large room with more then enough Space for my family and a nice big balcony overlooking the beach gorgeous view.. the staff make this holiday in my Opinion the staff in the restaurants was soo friendly with both my children and the animation team tried soo hard to get my little boy involved and rembered my little girl and always cane to say hi defo the best team Iā€™ve found. The pool although doesnā€™t get the sun until 11/12 is nice a little chilly getting in but then fine again the best heated pool weā€™ve found in jan, we went to the Wild West village which we caught a free bus just down the road from the hotel was fantastic, the food was good not a wide variety but was tasty and always found something to eat alway fresh pizza and pasta

So now the negatives all inclusive didnā€™t actually mean all inclusive, my little boy loves slushes they were a Euro each time, Ice lollies again over a Euro, to get WiFi in the room 25euro to hire a remote 10euro although you do get this back at the end of the holiday, towels you pay and the most expensive of all are the mini golf and the bungees go karts and arcade which each night cost me around 30 Euro although you can say no to your children Iā€™m to soft so ended up a experience holiday, also the water park if you can brave the ICY cold water is free to enter but again drinks and food is expensive. Lastly the supermarket is again expensive.

The location isnā€™t great but buses to get you to other places we got a taxi to Puerto Rico and that was 14 Euro each way although the angry birds theme park is defo a great place for children

Would I return to this hotel? Probably not but my little boy would defo say yes

ok so booked this last Xmas and visited in Oct 2019 , I paid Ā£2700 for 4 of us ( 2A 2c) all inclusive 10 nights , which I thought was a great price . I booked with jet 2 who I actually canā€™t fault at all !
We arrived really late and were given packed lunches by the staff on reception as we had missed tea, to be honest non of us ate what we were given as they were all warm cheese and ham sandwiches but the thought was there. Breakfast was good we were pleasantly surprised by the food actually. Lunch they had a huge salad selection , fresh pizza which were delicious and fresh meats we really couldnā€™t fault the restaurant food at all , ( bare in mind youā€™re at a 3 star hotel ! ) We headed down to the pool the pool well itā€™s tiny for the size of the hotel , the lifeguard is rude and a fun spoiler , no water pistols, no lilos, no laughing , no diving , no pushing your friends in. I get he has to be vigilant but the kids were bored and didnā€™t want to go in the pool anymore for fear of being shouted at !
Ok so you get the waterpark entry included so itā€™s all ok , well itā€™s so salty it stings your eyes and the kids hated that too.
We thought we would try and see what entertainment was on . The entertainment by the pool was poor to say the least ( not the entertainment teams fault , they just clearly have no budget ) one day the activity was throwing a ball into a cardboard tube ?! What the hell ! Oh and also there was no entertainment on sundays and Mondays !
The kids club girls were fantastic especially
Jasmine and Amanda !
Now onto evening entertainment and this was very good although 3 hotels share the same entertainment so you have to get there early to get a seat, the mini disco
Started too late for one of my boys who fell asleep by 9pm every night .
Because you have to get to the entertainment area early to get a seat you have a long wait , this is where the kids rinse you 5ā‚¬ for a trampoline , 5ā‚¬ for the bouncy castle, arcade , minigolf ect ect !
Itā€™s not what we are used to but again itā€™s a 3 star hotel .
The entertainment staff worked really hard and put on some great shows on their days off they got professional acts in.
I wouldnā€™t return to this resort as itā€™s a little secluded ( although itā€™s easy to get around by bus ) we spent more money here than we normally would on a all inclusive holiday

When we arrived our rooms weren't quite ready but was given our wrist bands straight away and luggage was put in a secure room. Food was ok, most dishes a bit repetitive but hot, breakfast was fab, very clean hotel and rooms, great view from rooms, staff friendly, a lot of sunbeds had towels on fairly early. Don't put room keys in phones cases as it wipes them due to being magnetic. Animation team are fab, kids will love it. Adult entertainment is good too. Something for everyone during the day and evenings

Dear 987chantels, It is nice to know that you had a very enjoyable stay at the Paradise LAGO Taurito Hotel, in no small part thanks to the great breakfast, the overall cleanliness, the very nice view, the courteous staff and the great animation. Since all guests are entitled to enjoy their rooms until 12:00pm (although obviously not all do as some have early flight departure times), in most cases Housekeeping cannot start the cleaning until such time, but despite that usually the rooms are ready by 2pm (and often times quite a bit earlier than that) because of how well organized and hard working our Housekeeping staff are. We would be very happy to welcome you back anytime. kind regards, The Paradise Team

Ok so itā€™s my last night here I read 100s of reviews before I came. Iā€™m not stuck up my own ass and Iā€™m not a sort of person you would see on Jeremy Kyle just a normal person. I will try and answer every thing i read bad and good. The hotel and resort is beautiful and clean it is out of the way but the free bus takes you down the hill and then you can get a bus anywhere for 1.40e the free bus stops at 8pm but if you tell the bus driver you want to go to Lago after this time they take you to the hotel so no need for taxis even early hours of the morning.

Rooms are good could not have asked for better cleaned every day and clean towels if you leave them on the bathroom floor.

Food was always good plenty off choice never went hungry staff were very nice all the drinks were strong and nice yes the free ones do finish at 11 but you can get as many as you want anytime or before 11. And then they are really cheap bye one get one free all night in the night club which was quiet, but still a lot off fun and great bar staff.

Entertainment team were amazing did some fantastic shows and got everyone involved had such a laugh they were so friendly. Did lots off stuff in the day as well and were excellent with children.

Pools and water park are cold but ok once your in them plenty off sunbeds the water park is salt water but you do get used to it amazing you can just keep going in all day everyday for free if you want to.

Beach did not go much as not a fan off the beach but it was lovely down there.

Shops had some lovely shops on the resort everything you needed the only thing the pharmacy did not sell pain killers which was a bit strange but not far into town on the bus to get some.

Reception and the trips lady were all really helpful and kind nothing was ever to much trouble.

I really donā€™t no what people have to complain about this hotel or the location as you can get anywhere for buttons. We had an excellent time and it deffo should be more than a 3 star. Please do not believe all the bad reviews I really donā€™t no what people expect, we have had the best holiday and would not hesitate to come back thank you Lago for an amazing holiday you do not deserve the bad reviews you get, we will deffo be back in the future.

Weather for people that wonder how the weather would be we went beginning of March and it was very hot every day but you would need a jumper at night

Trips we only did the crocodile park but you get a free bus there and back and it only 10e each really good cheap day out.

We booked for 6 days between Christmas and New Year, yet only stayed 2 nights to escape to another hotel. Most noisy place I ever visited. From outside animation until 11pm (we were on the 7th floor but bad karaoke singers were on our balcony it seemed), day work in the rooms nearby, badly isolated rooms, our family did not have rest deserved during a holiday. Our son needs to sleep early and is still taking naps, impossible. The room needs refurbishment indeed but is ok for a 3 stars, cleanliness ok. Food buffet was more than correct, but again this is a huge dinner room so you can't hear your partner talking depending on where you are plus staff there are quite stressed therefore a bit rude and not very helpful.

i was really surprised as reading comments here or on booking I was expecting something different.

We are travelling frequently and can't say we are really asking for a lot but be aware that it is probably better to go there with older children, who will have fun for sure!

Location is great, too. You are protected from heavy winds sometimes blowing in Maspalomas for instance and the sand beach is ideal, no roads to cross to go there on top. A lot of small shops, this is quite lively.

We did not enjoy fun park as water was way too cold, you could barely see 10 people bathing. As with a lot of other pools in Gran Canaria, it is a big minus.

I have always stayed open minded when reading reviews as I know some people have high expectations, but this hotel does not even deserve 3*

On arrival we were dropped off and made to walk quiet far to the hotel reception with all our luggage which was the first disappointment.

The waterpark which is free entry but you have to pay for drinks in there, you cant go on any of the slides though as it is ice cold. The pool at the hotel is ok kids loved it but no lilos allowed as the lady lifeguard is very moody.

We travelled as a family off 11, me my husband and children paid extra for the family room, has a kitchen but no cutlery, kettle, plates etc can hire a kettle which worked out around 35euros for 2 weeks no cups though or spoons šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

It is out of the way of everything which wasnt really a problem as we like walks to explore.

So we are still here now go home on sunday, 7 out of 11 have been struck down with a nasty bug and turns out over 100 people in the hotel are also bad. The rude receptionist tried to say we brought it with us baring in mind today is the 23/1 and we arrived on the 12/1. My baby was sick on the bed and they were reluctant to change the sheets as today wasnt our day!! We watched the maid clean sick up from the pool with no mop bucket just a dirty mop and toilet roll no wonder everyone is bad when they have no hygiene what's so ever!

Worst holiday we have ever been on tbh and I would not recommend to anyone!

Dear Hayley A, It is shame that you left with such a perceptioon as the one you are describing in your comment and we are sorry to hear that your expectations for your stay were noit satisfied. Surely your booking confirmation and/or the information on the hotel provided (by whomever made the booking in your name) does not state that you would get AI snacks and drinks inside the waterpark. We are sorry to hear that the lack of explicit EXclusion was interpreted by you to be the same as automatic INclusion. Gran Canaria is much warmer that basically the entire rest of Europe during the winter months, but the days are still shorter (=less hours of direct sunlights exposure) and the air temperature is not a lot over 20 degrees Celsius during the daytime. Considering these facts itis hardly surprising that the massive amount of water park pool water is not exactly warm either. All of the hotel staff make great efforts to adhere to the proper POSI (Prevention of Spread of Infection) protocols (especially Housekeeping, Restaurant and kitchen staff) but some guests (both the unaffected and the affected) will continue to use common facilities (which are cleaned very frequently but not after after every single use. The local clinic has issued a document wherein they confirm a rising number of viral gastric illness during the first half on January, without having found a single indication that any of the hotels in the area (neither us nor our competitors) could be in any way responsible for this fact. In the end of the day, most people would agree that the sensible thing to do, if you find out that a virus is going around their place of work (for example), is to increase the frequency of hand washing and to decrease physical contact with other people. The exact same principal can be applied to any place with many people in a limited and shared space, like a hotel. Between that and the POSI protocols most guests would have been perfectly fine and never in any real danger of chatching it. If the maid did in fact do something of the sort you describe, she surely just used whatever she had at her disposal to get rid of the worst right away but only to come back shortly after, equipped with proper cleaning tools and disinfectants to do the cleaning up to POSI standards. Please do not forget that a puddle of sick is not only a danger in terms of infection but also in terms of making the surfice it is on very slippery, and a slippery floor in the pool area is to be avoided at all costs. We appreciate all the time and effort you put into sharing your point of view, we hope that ours has shed some light on a few misconceptions you seem to have fallen victim to. Thank you very much. Kind regards, The Paradise Team

This is my honest personal review, I booked a bargain week away at the paradise lago taurito hoping for a chilled winter sun break after a rubbish xmas & new year. I'll break it down.
1, hotel was not paradise! Room on 8th floor had a fab view & was fairly clean but a few areas of the room & rest of hotel needed a spruce up.
2, staff were all lovely, esp on reception.
3, food was luke warm & repetitive. Always ran out of cutlery & hated the plastic cups in the bar.
4, bit of a rip off as waterpark entry free but had to pay for drinks in there. Pool in there was freezing too & no sunbed mats.
5, main pool was rammed full of kids with no sunbeds available whenever we went down.
5, entertainment area was ok, the animation team worked really hard to put on good shows.
6, amusement arcade, bowling, crazy golf, bungee, bouncy slides, rides all available for kids but was expensive.
7, beach was nice, easy access from hotel but there was a homeless scruffy guy living on the beach who used to wander about & offered us weed in front of our 4 year old! one night we saw him at the entertainment area & a few families felt intimidated. The staff & jet 2 rep were informed of his presence.
8, felt a bit trapped in, as no where else to go, no where to really walk to as the road to Puerto mogan is closed, so taxi one way was ā‚¬4 but now ā‚¬20. There is a free bus to playa del cura then you can get another bus to mogan, Puerto rico, maspalomas etc. Buses are cheap, frequent & reliable.

Personally, we wouldn't stay here again but I'm sure it suits some families. It was mid jan & pool area & restaurant & entertainment area wasn't big enough for the amount of guests so I dread to think what school holidays are like.

Mogan is worth a visit as is amadores beach near Puerto Rico. We went out every day on the bus & eat at different restaurants so my bargain week away didn't end up a bargain!
We travelled with jet 2 who I think are fantastic & the hotel rep carl was nice, helpful & informative.

We've just got back from a week at this resort. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are spacious with a beautiful view. The air con does work you have to set the thermostat to low and turn the fan button up. The food was good if your not a picky eater and many nights there are theme nights. Our daughter is GF and was catered for, I will say there is a mini buffet in the kids area, we only realised on the last night. The water park is included and yes it salt water and cold but once your in its fine i would advise goggles for younger children. There is a free bus to playa del cura and from there it's about ā‚¬1.40 each way to Puerto Rico or Morgan. I'd recommend the Sagittarius cat boat trip, we booked with Toby and Eleanor (low cost tours taurito). They are not pushy like the others, honest and good priced. The resort is priced for tourists so can be expensive but it's as cheap or expensive as you make it. The animation team made the holiday for us, they are brilliant!!

Our 3rd trip to Gran Canaria and the first time we have stayed in Tauro. It is our last family trip so wanted one with a water park to keep the kids busy during the week. We choose the Paradise Lago hotel after reading a couple of the Jet2 reviews and we went all inclusive. I have to say I am quite disappointed and will not be coming back to this hotel. Let's start with the positives:
Friendly and helpful staff, well located, good size balcony with a good sea view, good selection of foods at the buffet, but I am struggling for any more!!
Ok, lets get down to the nitty gritty and pull out the negatives:
Room is quite small, the wardrobe was barely hanging on, I have seen thicker paper towels then our curtains which means the room is light when its light outside (I presume they haven't heard of black out curtains!!), no anti-ship bath mat which caused both my wife and daughter to slip in the baths whilst having a shower (the daughter was in tears with a sore arm and bruised ribs), the fridge in the room only works when the key is in the slot to bring the electrics on so is of no use, there is no bottled or glass water provided at all in the hotel, one pillow only for the bed, one towel each (extra charge for additional towels). Well that is the room reviewed.
All inclusive is exceptionally limited if you think you'll nail the drinks. In the bars the cocktails are out of a machine, all drinks are served in plastic or cardboard cups. You can have glass as long as you are willing to pay for your drinks (what is all the about!!), talk about discrimination.
This might seem a little harsh as this is day one but first impressions set the mood for the rest of the week.

I took my 20 month year old son away for a week of winter son. The hotel was quite cheap when booked directly. We paid Ā£59 a night for an all inclusive package. The hotel did provide a comfortable cot for my boy and the maids ensured it stayed clean and folded his bed clothes etc. The food at the hotel was mediocre, sometimes cold as it had been out for a while - but for 59 pound a night you can't complain. The local booze was not nice, but if you're there for a drink there is a reasonably priced supermarket. The rooms were clean and the maids were very nice and interacted with my son when around, which was nice. The hotel is a very loud one up until 11 pm. The hotel provides a kids disco, which plays bad music incredibly loudly till this time. Consequently, if you have a baby or you are without kids you might choose elsewhere. The location of the hotel is great, close to the beach etc. The hotel carpark is a bit of a RIP off. They charge from 12 till 12, so if you park from 3 pm till 10 am you're paying for 2 days. However there is on road parking behind the hotel, so save your money.

Responded 19 Jan 2020
Dear AaronO228, Thank you for booking our hotel and for sharing your experience here on TripAdvisor. We actually agree that our hotel provides very good value, but no so much because of the price being low but rather because of the competitive quality of our food and drinks within the all-inclsuive service our hotel provides to its guests. 11pm is the cut-off time for anything that could be considered loud by some guests, precisely to give those guests who may wish to turn in early the chance to do so. The majority of children between the ages of about 2 and about 9 would probably disagree with you and tell you that they absolutely love the music used for the mini disco. After 11pm there is always the soundproofed Disco La Bamba and for the real "party animals" Puerto Rico is only a short taxi ride (some 8 minutes and 13ā‚¬) away. Hotel guests do enjoy a special rate, which is 5ā‚¬ per day (day = complete or partial intervals between midnight and midnight) instead of the regular 1,20ā‚¬ per hour. And it is true that sometimes guests are actually lucky enough to find a free of charge parking space along the street. Ultimately every guests needs to decide if not having to worry about parking and always having a spot available in the shade (the parking facility is underground after all) is important or not so important to them. Since you did "get what you paid for", we hope that you will be back for another nice holiday in Paradise. Kind regards, The Paradise Team
