Nestled in a serene location, Maslina Resort is often celebrated for its tranquil atmosphere and chic design, with guests consistently impressed by the hotel's immaculate cleanliness and comprehensive amenities that promise a restful retreat. While the majority of guests commend the well-designed rooms and the staff's exceptional service, some have called out noise issues and occasional slow service. The resort's setting near Stari Grad is a highlight, yet the value is occasionally questioned due to extra costs. Despite this, the overall guest experience remains highly regarded.

Given that this property was recently built, everything is in impeccable shape and you can tell that a lot of care went into the planning for guests as they tried to think about everything. The idyllic location and layout of the resort allows one to really enjoy themselves. Being located a short bike ride away from charming Stari Grad and a 20 minute drive to Hvar, you have an ideal location for any desired activity. While the bike ride is not difficult, choose the e-bike option if available as you'll be happy to have a pedal assist after adventuring in town. Having visited the island before, I was initially unsure about the location (being away from Hvar) but would choose Maslina as home base for any return trip. While the location, property and natural beauty of the island were enough to make this a memorable trip, the staff made it an over the top experience. Many thanks to Julia, Sanja and the rest of the crew! The complimentary mini-fridge restocked daily, included breakfast buffet and hot options (yummy truffle eggs!) along with the other food and beverage we had during our stay was top notch! The fact that single-use toiletries were not used in the room along with other attempts at waste/resource reduction, where possible, were great efforts to see vs. other resorts typically. Garfield was a special surprise and we loved when he'd make an appearance!

On arrival, I was a little disappointed. I'd struggled with messages back and forth to the hotel, some of which was my fault as emails kept going into junk but also the communication wasn't as seamless as it should have been. When we arrived the pool was busy and so we walked to the beach which was a huge let down, the set up just doesn't work and feels a bit like a car park.

However, once we settled into the hotel we did have the most wonderful stay here. The rooms are beautifully set up, I loved the tea and coffee along with complimentary drinks in fridge. Bed very comfortable. I thought the food at dinner and lunch was excellent, slightly limited choice due to Covid and food planning I suspect but what they had was cooked impeccably. I thought breakfast was very nice too.

The spa set up and gym is just exquisite, so peaceful and you dont need to have a treatment to go in for some quiet time

Swimming pool beautifully designed - yes they could do with a few more sunbeds

Kids club run by Milena is just outstanding. I've stayed in so many properties before where my children won't go because the staff aren't welcoming or facilities aren't great. This kids club is the best I've ever come across, Milena is so warm and engages the children playing beautiful games whilst keeping the club spotless. such an asset for the hotel

I think what made our stay so special was the relaxed nature of the staff. Quite rare these days. Special mention to Amma at breakfast and lunch who looked after us so kindly each day

Thank you Maslina for a wonderful holiday

We have stayed there for 2 nights. The Resort looks very impressive, with eco and chic decoration, lovely restaurant and pool area. Our view from the room was stunning. Super clean and comfortable rooms. All personal was helpful, friendly and absolutely charming. Service/food at the restaurant were also great. Dont miss grapefruit splash cocktail!
But:
I think eggs for extra fees for breakfast at those kind of places are absolutely ridiculous and its not about money. Its upper class resort and all breakfast choices should be included into the room price which was not cheap.
There are literally only 3-4 umbrellas for the 2 pools and its a challenge to stay at 30C with no shade.

I am not that type of person who is always unhappy with everything. And I was not going to write a review, but today at the check out my patience ran out and I want to warn other people against coming here.
First of all, ants that filled our bed and only at the end of the vacation, with our efforts, we managed to get rid of them
Secondly it's a beach, I know there is a public beach in Croatia, but I didn't expect to see this. The sun beds that belonged to the hotel were occupied by people not from the hotel and no one reacted to this. There were never towels on the sun loungers and we had to wait a very long time for them. Million of people at the beach, first time in Croatia I see this, all other hotels managed to make it more private
Only one restaurant in the hotel with a very poor choice of food, breakfast was also very bad. At our last day we had to wait for boiled eggs for 1,5 hour!!!
At the beginning of our stay there was normal liquid soap and shower gel, and later they began to mix it with water.
And the last thing I would like to point out is deception everywhere. At the check out, we found out that they wanted to cheat us by 700 euros in the bill. Only in the middle of vacation we noticed that we were charged with what we had not ordered and this was not a one time case.
This is not a five star hotel!

I had the chance to spend few days at the Maslina Resort. Located at the Hvar Island, the resort overlooks the Adriatic Sea. Sustainability is at the forefront of the resort’s design and operations. From its energy efficient cooling and lighting, eco mattresses, vegetables garden to the complimentary wooden bikes, Maslina strives to be earth friendly in all it practices.
Maslina definitely sets a new benchmark for hospitality. Curated amenities and graceful and attentive service enhance the guest experience on every possible level. Denis, Alexandre “Energizer Bunny” and the rest of staff were just amazing making sure all guests are well tended. Chris, the Cocktail Master’s drinks made with natural ingredients and mixers from scratch were out of this world. Maslina also offers a unique dining experience. Michelin Stared French Chef, Serge Gouloumes will make sure your palate is totally satisfied with his magnificent dishes where Art and Succulence meet.
Thank you to everyone at the Maslina for a very memorable stay.

I had a wonderful stay at the Maslina for three nights with my fiancé.

Hotel Highlights:
Great check-in. We were dropped at the ferry pier by a private boat. The Maslina courtesy van was there to pick us up. The check-in process was seamless and quick. After a brief complementary nonalcoholic drink the the bar we were shown to our room and it already had the luggage in it.

We would return to that bar nightly for great cocktails including well made gin & tonics, Hemingway daiquiris and negronis before having dinner in the restaurant.

We had dinner in the restaurant every night and generally loved the food other than the monkfish I had the first night. The chicken was extremely well prepared and a nice change of pace from the the white fish we ate most days of the trip. The catch of the day was also very good. The service was generally great especially the wine recommendations which we needed help with.

We did not make it to the beach bar but my fiancé used the spa and came away impressed.

Room:

We stayed in a pool garden suite (room 132) and were very happy we paid more for this room category. It included a large patio on the second floor that overlooked the water. The patio had two chaise lounges as well as padded areas for napping on the wood bench. Behind the room was a second patio with a plunge pool I was surprised how much we used. The room had a great bathroom with a separate toilet. We enjoyed the free water and snacks in the room. We used the great Bluetooth speaker in the room. We did not use the TV although is recommend the hotel add the TVs to the wifi so you can screen share as that did not work.

Bees:
Hvar is full of bees and this hotel is no exception. Staff works hard, but like all places on the island the bees cannot be fully avoided.

Random:

Beautiful hotel gym. Friendly resident cat named Garfield. Very odd the on-site “store” doesn’t sell sunscreen (just face sunscreen). We had run out and needed to go into town to a small store.

We have spent a long week-end in Maslina with friends and family last week and it was really an unforgettable experience. The boat of the hotel picked us up at the airport to bring us to the hotel. The location of the hotel is amazing, with every room with a full sea view in a quiet bay on Hvar Island. We were in one of their villa and all the rooms were really gorgeous with stone and wood everywhere and a real feeling of luxury. But the best part was the staff! Everyone there seems genuinely happy to see you and happy to work there, always helpful yet very discreet. We also apreciated the Kids play-room with staff making sure our kids had the best time and leaving us with plenty of time to enjoy :). The food is also amazing! They have a french chef, and it was a long time while since I went to a hotel and I could say that everything was delicious. All in all, this was the best hotel we ever been to and most probably the best hotel in Croatia.

The hotel is beautifully done, open spaces, pleasant architecture, great terrace, poolside, spa, and comfortable rooms. It’s a 30 min walk from Stari Grad, and the hotel transport will take you there whenever you like. They also pick you up from Split airport and take you by speed boat to the hotel. The breakfast is excellent - a very thoughtful buffer and a la carte menu, lunch is what you would expect for a beach hotel, and dinner is magnificent.

It would all feel luxurious if it weren’t for the staff. They hire people who clearly weren’t trained in the hospitality sector. Everyone is very pleasant and polite, but they are all very incompetent. E.g. it took 5 minutes and 3 people to get hold of a piece of pen and paper, you order coffee with milk but the milk almost never arrives, the rooms are sometimes serviced sometimes aren’t, even when you explicitly ask them to do it, among other examples. For such an expensive and luxurious hotel, you would expect the service to be at par, but maybe they hired loosely because of COVID, who knows.

Overall, I would recommend the hotel, bearing in mind that you are paying for the location, infrastructure and food - not the service.

My husband and I arrived at Maslina, and were graciously welcomed by Batu and we offered a lovely drink. While waiting for our room, he took us for a tour of the beautiful resort. There were sun beds on platforms overlooking the sea, two pools, wellness center, restaurant and many cozy spots to relax.
Dinner at the restaurant was delicious and the staff were top class!!!
Service by the pool/sea was also excellent.
Our “panorama room” was beautiful.
Overall the ambience was peaceful and zen like!
Transportation to the town of Stari Grad was always available by the staff at the resort.

This is a resort in it’s infancy, only three years in business.
A few minor suggestions; hopefully, constructive criticism.

1. There are not enough sun beds/platforms on the rocks by the sea. I believe only 6 platforms with two loungers on each. Guests go down early to secure a space by placing a towel and personal items. They then leave for breakfast/lunch/wellness center with their items on and may return hours later. The staff are not allowed to remove these items.
When I complained to Batu he was extremely sympathetic; although, there was not much he could do, he did periodically keep an eye out for any empty bed and alert us when one was available.

2. The drinks from the bar were way overpriced ($24euros)

3. It would be helpful to have a Childrens pool separate from the adults.

Overall, the experience was beyond expectations!!!!

This hotel has a very sleek website so I had imagined s hotel in a pine grove, I was shocked a see a small public road in the centre of the hotel.. sort of built into the land some building above others on the way to the sea. The check In process was smooth with cold towels and drinks offered.
We had a 3 bedroom family suite, the front room of which is beautiful. The back two bedrooms not so much so, we had traffic noise from the back road you could hear chairs scrapping over head and people walking, water running, even sneezing and cell phones beeping. We could not find a fan for the bathroom so. by the second day it did smell damp. Also one bedroom had very noisy AC like it was going to break, we did tell them but it was not fixed.
I called the hotel before booking this room and was told a hallway linked the bedrooms so I had imagined we could all share the view terrace, not the case.
We did ask to move the room and had to wait almost 3 Horus for the manager who was in a meeting then one room she showed me was nice but another 2 hrs to get it ready and an extra charge so by this point we were exhausted and need to unpack.
Well stocked mini bar was included in the rate which was nice as were lovely teas but no milk in the fridge for the coffee press. I asked for cream was told no. I asked for feather pillows was told no. Seemed to hear a lot of no's.
Spa is lovely. But not given any water at the end of the treatment, asked for snacks after was told no, asked if we could order snacks, no.
Shockingly on checking into the spa, which we rushed to, to be on time was told your treatments will start 10 mins late as the previous guests were late. Never anywhere in the world have I been told that. always if you are late your time will be shorter.
Beach service is non existent.
Old towels left on the beds, no water provided, no drinks or snacks menu, no way to contact staff, we wanted to eat lunch but could not find anyone to help us. I did stop a man passing in the buggy and he said he would send someone, no one came, maybe the beach boy was too busy texting as I saw him before and after yoga class slowly putting out cushions in the garden area. Also another staff member talking on her cell phone close to the beach for a while, looked like she was on a break. At check out no one asked or I would have passed on these comments. Maybe as its the end of the season some of the staff have gone home.
Outdoor breakfast area is tiny and some people could not get a space so had to wait and service of coffee and tea so slow one morning. From the web site I was expecting a wow, this was not a wow.
