We decided to spend a night in the castle. And booked a room in the castle of Mir. It was built in the XVI century. The place is amazing and the vibes are fantastic. Our room was with a lake and a yard views! We had all modern facilities and even a jacuzzi. The staff was amable there. Highy recommend that fab hotel! I'll be back👌Definitely! ❤️

Mir is accessible from Minsk by taxi or bus. Buses run from the central bus station in Minsk next to the main train station. Tickets must be bought at the ticket office, not from the driver. When I visited on a Friday in May 2018 the helpful Information Desk at the bus stations gave me times of 8.40am, 9.40am and 11.50am for getting to Mir and returns at 15.45pm, 16.23pm and 17.03pm. I caught the 8.40 - 5.82BYN- which is a 30-40 seater and most seats were taken. The journey takes approx. 1 1/2 hours. At Mir the bus station is in the town square and the ticket office is through the unmarked brown door to the left of the accessories shop. Return tickets, also from the ticket office not the driver, are not sold until the bus is due but I was given times of 12.50pm, 13.10pm, 14.20pm, 14.40pm, 15.45pm etc. so there seem to be plenty of buses back to Minsk. I caught the 13.10pm - 5.34BYN - , another 30-40 seater which was half empty. 2-3 hours is more than adequate to view the castle, cost 12BYN. I saw no evidence of a taxi rank at Mir so if a taxi is needed back to Minsk who knows how that is organised.

This was quite an experience from booking the rooms to eating breakfast in a raskceller. I made the reservation by email months earlier and just got an email back that "yes, I have a reservation." No deposit, no official looking document, nobody's name on the email, so I was a little worried about whether they would have a room for us. But, somehow, though not a soul spoke English, we were able to get checked in. The place is ancient, charming, nicely furnished and quite comfortable. The experience alone is is amazing and it is quite grand in scale. If you're in the area, definitely worth a stay.

An adventure! We used google translate and barely hacked our way through the registration, but the front desk reception was game and patient. Suite 305 is two story with a balcony and suitably ornate. The castle really puts on the charm at dusk, with beautiful sky, the lake next door ducks and birds...really happy with it.

This is our first experience sleeping in a castle. Despite the age of the castle, it's been upgraded such as lift, remote control for curtains, light sensors, etc. The room is comfortable, we had a very good rest. The staffs hardly speak English, so have to depend heavily on Google Translate and also good that they are keen to help. The surrounding of the castle is very nice, calm and romantic. A good place to spend a relaxing day / night.

We spend a night in a large and comfortable 2-storey room (305??) With a terrace overlooking the garden. A bit out-of-time. Our room was on the museum floor with armors in the corridor. Restaurant is underground and gloomy but useful. Food quality is average. Minus:no kettle in room, no tea or coffee. Globally, a pleasant stay.

We spent a night in a beautiful 2-story room with a balcony. The castle itself is amazing but staying there in a room makes this trip even a better experience. The rooms are great, really well designed. The hotel has 15 rooms only and the 2-story rooms are definitely better than the others. Our trip turned out to be very enjoyable and romantic, so if you like medieval times and like romantic setting, this hotel is a must. We will come back here again despite the fact we live just over hour and a half away.
