Hidden amongst a veritable treasure trove of tropical plants and grasses, hug trees and spectacular orchids in bloom, the quaint bungalows of the Sepilok Nature Resort are within walking distance of the world-famous Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve, precious home of the last wild Orang Utans of Northern Borneo. Combining rich traditional style with contemporary luxury, Sepilok Nature Resort is the ideal starting point for most other wildife land destinations in Sabah such as the fauna rich Kinabatangan River and the surrounding Sukau area.

Nice chalets in this resort just a few minutes walk from the Orangutans and Sun bears. Very large inside with lovely big bathroom. However we had a problem with not having hot water which wasted a few hours of our evening while they tried to sort it out. It didn’t get sorted

Two Brits living in Malaysia. Stayed here for 4nts. Perfect, tranquil & overall comfortable. Big chalet type rooms, comfy beds, large shower & separate bath. Hammock outside your room & a two seat table & chairs to sit & take in all the great nature scenery. We got our request

Lovely location and beautiful grounds but there is huge room for improvement: - Rooms are outdated and slightly musty. We also slept on one of the hardest and most uncomfortable beds we'd ever encountered on our travels. - Resort staff are not exactly motivated to help:

We stayed at the nature resort for 2 nights so visit the monkeys and sun bears. Both are within short walking distance. The rooms are basic but spotless and the location is simply stunning. We were recommended to come here as opposed to staying to Sandakan and were not

This resort is in the perfect location for seeing orangutans. It is a five minute walk to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center (and the Sun Bear Conservation Center), and because it backs up to the [reserve, wild orangutans often wander into the resort. The grounds are

Hi, does this lodge have currency change facilities. Thanks
The hotel has a facebook page - which details how you contact them directly . I see you are in Ricky - my old stomping ground! I moved to Zone 9 as quieter ! ha ha - Small world. :-) We booked a full 2 weeks in KL and Borneo through The Experience Travel Group in the UK - who used Sticky Rice Tours as their ground agents. Amazing service from both. Feel free to message me if you need any other info / advice.

The Sepilok jungle resort is a 10/15 minute walk away and I was told you can use their pool. Not sure of the cost. If you are only in the nature resort for a few days I don't think you will need a pool. Just staying in the resort listening to the sounds and appreciating the views is a wonderfully experience

We were in number 24 or 25, right round at the end of the resort. The lodge was lovely and overlooked the lake. You will love this place!

Is a malaria preventative recommended for a September visit
We used Jungle Formula plus there was a bug spray in our room at Sepilok which we used. Didn't get bitten once - our medical advice was anti-malarial not necessary.
