I stayed here in winter so I was the only guest, I adored my night here (I stayed the next night in a different hotel because i thought that Kastraki was further out than it is). Though the owners dont speak much english they were lovely, and the breakfast they put on was delicious! My room didnt face the monasteries but i still had a lovely view. Absolutely GORGEOUS place to stay, and excellent for those on a budget.

Fortunately near to one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Our room was simply dirty.
Even if the room is getting old it could be cleaned up much better. Dusty spider webs all over the place and lots of traces of previous visitors in the bathroom

We have stayed 1 night at the host. First of all, I would like to mention the staff - though they speak a little English, they're very friendly and we really felt like home. We liked everything except the bathroom - it could be cleaner and requires some renovation. But if you are looking for a budget stay (we paid €29 per night in October, 2012) - that could be a good choice.

We stayed for two nights in Guest House Patavalis. For us it was a nice relaxing stay. The location was great (with nice mountain view and very close to the paths that lead to the monasteries), quiet area and nice surroundings. The owners helped us out with informations about the area and their little about 3 year old granddaughter showed us our room, which was very sweet. Hot water 24/7 and wifi internet was good. Sheets and towels were clean. The room unfortunately not so clean and the breakfast not so good.

The place was Good ! But that's about it in the scheme of things. The beauty of Meteora surrounding more then made up for the stale bread at breakfast !! The owner & friends were pleasant enough , nice free walnuts, the room clean & comfortable and we had a good nights rest which is more then enough. Not a bad spot but probably better if you look harder

Honestly this is not the most fancy/fashion/modern hôtel, but after one night, I felt like like I was at home. The lady is so nice, the flowers around are gorgeous, the view is beautifuland we slept very well.

The view was magnificent, the room was warm, the bed was comfy. There was no hot water for shower during the day when we came back from monasteries, this is standard. The shower was mouldy, the room was a bit dusty. No soundproofing. Breakfast was the worst we've had in 8 weeks of travelling. Stale bread, boiled egg, jam, coffee, ham and cheese. First day stale cake, second day no cake. A toaster could have made all the difference. With no car, we would have been much better off staying in kalambaka where there are more places to eat, bus service, bank etc. WiFi was good.

Room a bit small but OK, from the balcony you have excellent mountain views. Not a lot of eating options nearby, they serve mostly drinks for hotel guest, I guess. We saw only a restaurant 300m from the guesthouse, where we had dinner, the food was OK and not expensive at all, nice setting with gardens, Greek folklore music etc. The lady owner speaks English, although not too well but it was OK. Guesthouse very near the monasteries, drive only 1-2 km you begin to see the first one. There is a minimarket nearby but you plan to stay there for long, you should go to grocery in Kalampaka. Meteora is definitely a must you must do in your life. There is no word that can describe the feeling.
