Detailed Reviews
While on vacation in Greece, and visiting the monasteries, we stayed at the Grand Meteora Hotel. The location was very convenient to all the monasteries, and beautiful views from all the rooms.
The hotel was beautiful with a large lobby area and adjacent area for breakfast. The rooms were large, two twin beds pushed together, modern bathroom (tub/shower) TV/WiFi, and large closet area for clothing. Great balcony and view of the rock formations in the area. Breakfast was tasty with plentiful cold and hot options. Wish we could have stayed longer...
Highly recommended when in the Kalambaka area!

The Tsikeli Hotel Meteora, located in the picturesque Kastraki Village in Meteora, Greece, proved to be a true gem during my recent stay. The hotel boasts a number of strengths that contribute to an unforgettable experience.
Firstly, the sheer proximity to the Meteora monasteries makes this hotel an excellent choice for those looking to explore this historical wonder. The ease of access to these ancient monastic structures is simply unparalleled.
The room provided was spacious and comfortable, providing a welcome retreat after a day of exploring. The hotel offered: 2 types of wine, mineral water, and also many small delicacies to nibble on, in the room there was a Nespresso coffee machine with capsules, milk and sugar. I would also like to highlight the very high quality of the towels and the efficient cleaning of the room every day. But the icing on the cake was the in-room hot tub, which added a touch of luxury and provided an excellent reprieve after a long day of walking around the monasteries.
One of the hotel's hidden gems is its veranda, which offers breathtaking views of the Meteora rock formations. Starting the day with a cup of coffee while admiring this spectacular scenery was simply divine.
The breakfast served was plentiful, with a variety of tasty options that provided energy for a full day of adventures. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and polite, making the stay even more pleasant.
An additional advantage was the possibility of leaving the suitcase and purchased products for safekeeping, including storage in the fridge, in case you decided to purchase typical Greek products to take home to Italy.
However, there was one small inconvenience that is worth mentioning, although it did not impact my overall rating for the hotel at all. The plasterboard wall between the rooms seemed a little too thin, allowing noises from the next room to be clearly heard. This turned out to be a bit annoying, especially when the neighbor decided to start his day very early with some not so pleasant noises. For a hotel that has a rate of almost ā¬200 per night, you would expect better sound insulation.
Despite this small hiccup, Tsikeli Hotel Meteora remains an excellent choice with warm hospitality, superior comforts and a simply stunning location. I would definitely return for another stay and would heartily recommend it to anyone visiting the Meteora area.

The hotel, the owners and the staff are excellent. The hotel is very clean and the air conditioning works very well. The wifi in the rooms is a little weak in the lower level rooms but solid in the common areas. We stayed in a ground level suite and would recommend that you choose a Meteora mountain view on the second level instead if they have availability.
Breakfast was huge (way more than we could eat) and tasty.
Overall, the service was incredible and everyone very friendly.
Easy to walk to different places to eat and very well located to visit the monastaries.

We booked 1 night in this hotel, because we were staying only 24 hours in Meteora for the monasteries tour and we are so glad we did ( by the way - for the tour, we recommend to book with Visit Meteora - the half day tour was amazing and so worth it!)
This hotel is one of the closest in Kastraki before you enter the mountain roads to the monasteries, so very convenient for tours! But itās only a 5 minute drive back to Kalambaka if you want to visit the main town.
From the moment we arrived, the host was so helpful and accommodating. He helped carry our bags, offered extra blankets because it was cold, and gave us recommendations for dinner places. The rooms are clean and perfect. There are 12 rooms total. We had originally booked the Velvet room, but upon arrival, we were notified that they had other openings and the host upgraded us at no extra charge to the Superior room, which had a front view, which was such a nice touch! The room came with everything we needed and even offered water bottles to take.
Breakfast was delicious. They had a wide spread of options to choose from, and also offered a few options, cooked to order.
The hotel offered to keep our bags after check out while we went on our morning tour and everything was kept safe until we got back. Even upon our return and after check out, they were still helping recommend things to do after, on our way back to Athens.
Highly recommend this place!!

I really wanted to love this hotel. There are many glowing reviews. However, our rooms didnāt measure up. We had the connecting ātwo bedroom Pindos viewā rooms. The furniture was worn and damaged, the bathroom door casing was partially missing like the door had been locked and broken down to get in, and there was a terrible sewer smell in one of the rooms. They had something similar to Glade plug-ins in the room that were out of fragrance which leads me to believe they were aware of the smell issue. Perhaps these issues were new and they hadnāt had time to correct them?? The positives include the location in Kastraki, which is charming, is on the way up the hill to the monasteries, within walking distance to a couple mini markets and the extremely popular Taverna Gardenia. The hotel provided breakfast was wonderful with a wide variety of options from eggs served multiple ways to pizza, club sandwiches, greek yogurt with all the fixings, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, and made to order coffee selections. Our room rate included 5 hour ebike rentals which were a highlight of our visit. The ebikes made it easy to negotiate all the traffic up to the monasteries and parking a breeze. Highly recommend including ebikes in your room rate!!

This recently renovated hotel is absolutely beautiful inside and out. It offers stunning views of Meteora while eating the healthy and delicious buffet breakfast included in the nightly rate. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Many quaint restaurants are located nearby. Parking is free and is on the street above the hotel. As of March 2023, Google Maps has the location wrong so use another map app to navigate here. This hotel is very clean and comfortable. Thereās really no reason to stay elsewhere in this area.

We stayed 3 nights in room Nefeli (means cloud in Greek) we loved the style of the room, spotlessly cleaned everyday, with great view on the Meteores rocks from the balcony. Bed was very confortable. Great breakfast with homemade products. Great dinners at the Senses restaurant and lovely service from everyone in the staff, helpful, friendly and smiling. We took the package with ebikes. Ebikes were in top condition and the rental company very accommodating in splitting the hours over two days. Location of the hotel was excellent, on the way to the monasteries, ideal for ebikes. We can thoroughly recommend the place!!!

This hotel is located in Kastraki, Kalabaka, and is nested amidst the overpowering rock formations of Meteora. Many hotels in Greece are rustic, with no elevators, but the staff was very helpful with our luggage. The breakfast was adequate and tasty (but not a buffet; you have to request everything you want), the room neat and clean. The hotel is within easy walking distance of restaurants and tavernas, where the staff is always more than welcoming. We were easily able to store our luggage for the day.

By chance did I book this hotel, and its located in Kastraki, at the very entrance to the road to the Meteora monasteries. The hotel is quite a gem, very modern and stylish rooms with great taste and love to the detail. I have stayed in many hotels worldwide, and this is one of the most unique ones I can think of. The design is special and very practical too. Spotless clean rooms and the bedding is also very comfortable. The mattress may be a bit firm for some people, but we enjoyed this a lot. The balcony was a great addiction to spend some time over a drink at night. The owners are very attentive and very friendly. The breakfast in the garden with the view of the mountains is spectatular and should not be missed.

Stayed in a Stone Room with village view, room fittings and fixtures of a very high quality and had an excellent 2 night stay. Coffee and tea making facilities, including a Nespresso machine. Good sized fridge so we could cool lots of water for the hiking we did. Excellent bathroom with good lighting. Shame about the plastic that towels were wrapped in but guess this is the consequence of COVID-19. Lovely garden out front which you could enjoy a drink in as well as their breakfast, which were excellent and plentiful. Plenty of parking out front and 5 minutes walk to restaurants.

Hi, we found taxis waiting at train station. You have to queue up. Do ask the fare before you board the taxi. We paid ā¬6 per taxi (4 of us) from train station to Tsikeli hotel when we went on 19th September, 2015.
The distance is 1,5 km from the train station.
You have also the option to take a taxi outside the train station for 4 -5 euros and will bring you in the entrance.
