Wonderful hotel with very professional & friendly staff. Rooms beautiful made up . We stayed half board & throughly enjoyed every meal. After a day riding around the Picos we used to enjoy a refreshing beverage in the bar !!This hotel is really popular with motorcyclists & there is plenty of parking available . Big hugs to Del Oso security team( the gorgeous St Bernard’s )can’t wait to see you again ❤️❤️

We chose this hotel because of the many positive reviews and wanting to walk in the Picos hills/mountains. We booked through Brittany Ferries. The hotel's accommodation is very comfortable, the food is plentiful and excellent and the staff are really friendly. Potes is an attractive medieval local town. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and holiday.

A family run, great value hotel in the little hamlet of Cosgaya. It’s a beautiful setting, the restaurant and swimming pool and some rooms have great views of the mountains. Our room in the annex was very spacious and super clean. The pool is heated and a decent size for a proper swim. There are lots of lovely places to sit inside and out. Big buffet breakfast available (12E) or small breakfast in the bar (6E). Evening meals are huge - we couldn’t manage three courses. Not much for vegetarians on the menu though but plenty of fish. Would recommend. Oh and the St Bernard’s are adorable.

I never really get star ratings for hotels. This place is only 3 star and I don’t know why. The views of the mountains are awe-inspiring. The hotel has a pool, tennis courts, basketball and table tennis. The restaurant food is good and the service is first class. rooms are great - cool, clean and comfortable. I suppose It has a bit of a 70s church vibe about it. But that’s fine. I overheard another guest talking about similarities with the Shining. He’s right - the location does feel a little like the location of the Overlook Hotel, and the interior of Del Oso is a bit like the hotel (stone with timber frame throughout) where Jack went a bit haywire. But that just make it more interesting. Tony agrees with me. So does Mrs Torrence. Now I’m off for a game of tennis because all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Beautiful Hotel in the mountains, with excellent facilities and very friendly staff. Traditional-style, but family friendly, with superb breakfast, beautiful views and flower-filled Terrace. Super pool. only downsides are that our rooms were quite small and hot, without air-conditioning, but they cooled down in the evening. Plus 2 very friendly Saint Bernard dogs, live there!

Motorcyclists beware.... all change at the Del Oso Hotel. I have stayed at the hotel many times and sent lots of groups over the years. I loved the hotel and even if not staying would call in for drinks and food when in the area. I have on a number of occasions written articles about the hotel for motorcycle publications. imagine my surprise and upset when calling in to book a table for an evening meal and to show four friends the hotel for them to book for a visit to be met by a very unfriendly member of staff who immediately informed me if I didn't have a room number I wouldn't be served. I attempted to explain our reason for calling in and my previous relations with the hotel but without result. my order for coffees was refused. I returned to my seated friends shocked and embarrassed having told them what a lovely establishment it was. I observed that the car park was empty (only four cars) so it was not busy. Another member of staff appeared and said politics had changed!!!! we could have a coffee but no longer would service be offered if you were not resident. I emailed the hotel on two occasions but without reply. Perhaps the Del Oso has now become so popular that they do not need our business and the business I generate annually and not just for motorcyclists. Perhaps if you are passing or planning a visit you will consider other hotels. I am saddened after so many years and so many happy occasions to have had this experience.

My 10 friends and I were very fortunate to stay at this simply amazing hotel for a week whilst exporing the area by motorbike. The hotel and grounds are simply amazing, the attention to detail is worthy of a 5 star hotel. The restaraunt is lovely with great choices of food as well as being looked after by the brilliant waitress team. The bar man Fleix is a real gent and looked after us all through our visit. My summary woudl be that this is the only hotel I have visited where I could actually live. I can't recommend this hotel and staff enough - simply can't wait to go back.

Wow! Absolutely breathtaking scenery, cozy lodge feel, outstanding service. Can we stay forever? We chose Hotel Del Oso based on the amount of five star reviews and it did not disappoint. Even though we came to do the Ruta Del Cares (1.5 hours to Poncebos or 2 hours to Cain) it was totally worth it. It is also very close to Fuente De cable car and other hikes. Coming back after a long day of hiking to a drink in the bar, delicious dinner and a tea by the roaring fire before bed was better than we could have planned. This place will always be on our ‘must return’ list.

A joy to stay at. The old fashioned hotel, staffed almost exclusively by women, was spotless, and very comfortable. Relaxing after a day's walking in the bar or on the terrace with a beer or gin and tonic set the tone for an evening of good food and drink. The restaurant is very good indeed, but be warned, the portions are very generous, and combined with the later eating hours of Spain, I would advise against planning an early night. They serve a very good (and big) buffet breakfast in the dining room, but also a simple breakfast of orange juice, coffee, toast and jam in the bar, to set you you for a day in the glorious mountains in which the hotel is situated.

I really wanted to stay here after reading a 'secret review' posted while checking out Fuente De. But sadly rooms were available only for 1 night. And our room was across the road in the annexe building. Beautiful large room and huge bathroom. We booked a table for our dinner. We were celebrating our 26th anniversary and when I mentioned this to the staff, they gave us a beautiful 'oso' gift and placed a (free) dessert with candle on top. So sweet. This was so unexpected and made us so happy. The ladies who man the room are experts at hospitality and very able. I saw just one woman the next morning, manning the full breakfast room. Food is exceptional. (We had lunch, dinner & breakfast) I would love to go back here.....but it is so far from India... PS: Do not leave the bathroom window open in the annexe. Many small insects (like those found in farmland) die a miserable death in the marbled and glassed interiors. Ask for a room in the main building facing the swimming pool. It is supposed to have the best view.
