We had a great stay in this parador and made various walks in the Picos de Europa. The rooms are very cosy and spacious. We had breakfast and diner, which were very good, accompanied by good wines. The environment is wonderful.

We’ve stayed in other Paradors. They’re usually highly priced because there’s always something special. This one is the view. And what a view it was from our bedroom window. Overall our room was very clean, in good working order but a little tired. Some call it rustic. The beds were comfortable, the shower pressure was good. It was quiet at night and we slept well. A small burst of aircon to cool the room down in the evening as the sun went down, then we could open the window to our terrace and enjoy the fresh cool air. We ate both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. We had to book. It was high season and perhaps COVID has limited the times. We have no complaints about meals. The service in the restaurant at night was excellent, with lovely people. Breakfast was well presented while still complying with rules to avoid contamination. Parking was free and I found a tree each day to park under. Lugging heavy suitcases up 2 additional flights of stairs that were not supported by an elevator did not inconvenience us but could for some guests. If you didn’t get a view of Los Picos I can imagine a review would be lower rated. We’d happily stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at this Parador, which is set in a beautiful location surrounded by mountains, with spectacular views. The staff were rigidly adhering to their covid regulations, even disinfecting the room key - all very reassuring. The food was excellent. The staff were very helpful about my gluten free diet and offered gluten free bread and pastries at dinner and breakfast, as well as explains the gluten free options on the menu. Our room as large and comfortable, with an enclosed balcony , and a fully tiled and well equipped bathroom. The whole hotel was warm, with a relaxing lounge where we enjoyed our aperitif both evenings.

Very pleased to go here now that some of the Paradors have become dog friendly. You have the usual mixture of staff with some more friendly than others. The food is also average for a Parador (which in itself is fine) with a mixture of some very good dishes and some not so good. The breakfast buffet was more limited than normal and I wasn't sure if that was due to Covid restrictions or it was just cut back.

They provided treats, dog bowls and a mat for the dog to sleep on. I am not sure if there are limited rooms for dogs as they require you to put the dog in the bathroom or the balcony if he is left on his own. However we had a nice spacious room (in the annex) with a large, spectacular glassed in balcony which had great views.

They were very switched on with their covid measures, lots of sanitizer and social distancing in the bar and restaurant.

Like most other Paradors the Wifi was poor. Intermittent and sometimes non-existent.

What makes this particular Parador very good is the location. It is spectacular, make sure you get up early and watch the sun shine onto the mountains as it rises. You are surrounded by the jagged peaks of the Picos.

This is a big hotel with a perfect location near the cable car and hiking trails. The rooms are good size with dated, but ok, furnishings. Beds have hard mattresses. Bathrooms are big, though also need updating. Fine for a one or two night stay if you're not looking for luxury. Service needs improvement. The lady that runs the bar was very inattentive and had to be chased down to take orders. She ignored anyone sitting outdoors. The breakfast buffet had a good selection, but things ran out quickly and weren't replaced without repeatedly asking the few people working the breakfast room. Tables were not cleared quickly enough. We cleared our own after waiting almost 20 minutes.

We stayed here because we had read about the fantastic location, but had no particular expectations regarding the hotel. However, we were really pleasantly surprised by the hotel itself.
The location is indeed fantastic, as many reviewers agree. We also loved the decor, which is rustic and fits the mountain location perfectly. Our room was comfortable and very clean. The hotel had given consideration to the environment in its selection and presentation of toiletries, which we really appreciate.
The restaurant was great, with a nice selection of wines and good food including vegetarian options. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a good variety to choose from and the best Covid controls i have seen in any restaurant anywhere.
The staff here were really friendly and a pleasure to meet.
Honestly for quality of service, food and atmosphere this place is more than a three star.

I would have given this Parador a 5-star, but had to deduct one due to the service from the staff.

We booked a Standard Double Room which faces the mountains, and it was fabulous! Very specious and clean. For the price that we had paid, we had expected better service from the staff of a hotel of this standard. They didn't bother go above and beyond for their guests. For example, when we desperately needed a taxi, they simply gave us a phone number to call ourselves. At many other hotels, the Front Desk staff will be willingly do these things for us, given that we are non-Spanish speakers, and it is not easy for us to communicate with the local drivers. At other times, their demeanour was just nonchalant when we asked them questions/seek assistance.

Other than this, we had really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The location was perfect (near the cable car station and surrounded by majestic mountains). The room was spacious and clean, with a wonderful covered balcony where we can sit and enjoy the stunning view.

The restaurant offers excellent food with a menu which allows you to have different meals for at least 3 nights, and breakfast was sufficient (we were allowed to order hot food from a side menu in addition to what was being offered on the buffet table). However, you have to book your slot for breakfast, and often, you don't get your desired time if you are late in doing that.

Like I have said - overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The location is the hotel's greatest selling point, but the Front Desk really need training in good customer service.

Please fix the windows on the terraces so no draught and howling wind can come through them. Please make sure your staff (especially desk staff) speak better English and a smile (yes eyes can smile as well) or friendly word does do wonders. Thank you!

The outstanding feature of this Parador is the stunning views of the Mountains of the Picos de Europa. Our room had a huge, glazed Spanish Balcony which looked out directly onto the mountain peaks just a short distance away. Beware, however, that the lift does not go beyond the first floor and reaching our room entailed a further three flights of stairs, totalling 25. The staff, who are very pleasant and helpful, were eager to help us with our luggage on arrival but less keen the next morning, when they were busy with check-outs. As at most paradors out of season, there does not appear to be much in the way of staff beyond those directly engaged in reception or the bars and cafeterias. The temperature was unusually cold for Spain (about 15C). The rooms are provided with heating (This is the mountains, after all! ) but it did not come on until 7.30p.m. When it did, it was very efficient. The food is average. There is a restaurant which has a good reputation just across the road but that was closed and the nearest town is some distance away. Private (not secure) parking.

Fuente De is a lovely, if modern, parador, made great by its setting in the mountains. Be sure to get there early enough in the afternoon to be able to go up the cable car (which usually closes at 5pm). Dinner in the restaurant (you need to book) is excellent, whereas breakfast is the usual parador DIY 'hunt the spoon' affair - not as good as most hotels.

Dpto. Recepción
