Detailed Reviews
I stayed in this hotel for one night and regretted that I was not staying longer. Their care of guests is excellent. The japanese style rooms were very spacious for Tokyo and breakfast was self service with a good choice of Japanese and Western style food. There are other Dormy services for guests: Onsen, laundry and ramen service which make a stay here very comfortable.

I visit Japan every year and Dormy Inn is my default choice because of 1) onsen, 2) breakfast, 3) supper. And occasionally, it has great location.
And guess what, this Dormy Inn has everything at tip top condition!
Absolutely fantastic location along the Hibiya line. With Ueno and Akihabara to the north and Tsukiji and Ginza to the south. Great way to explore the eastern part of Tokyo which is really rich in culture. Kodenmacho station (exit c) is less than 20 m from the station entrance. And this place has good food around the junction too.
Perfect breakfast. It has grill hotate! and fried ebi! In buffet style. Although slightly more expensive than other Dormy Inn (1500 yen), it is worth every yen.
And finally, the onsen. A great way to relax yourself at the end of the day.

Response from inntokyokodenma, フロント at Dormy Inn Premium Tokyo Kodemmacho
Responded 2 Feb 2019
Thank you for staying at our hotel. It is wonderful that you visit Japan every year. Thank you very much. Our hotel is in a quiet business area. However, access to each direction is very good. It is also possible to go to Ginza, Tsukiji and Disneyland. And it is close to Tokyo station. A free shuttle bus runs from the hotel to Tokyo Station. (It is not operated from the Tokyo station to the hotel) Also, the public bath is on the 11th floor of the top floor. It is available from 3 PM to 10 AM the following morning. If you come to Tokyo next year, please stay at our hotel. We are waiting for you. Thank you very much.

Decently priced, clean & modern room. Room was small as expected. Bed & pillow was quite hard for our liking. Friendly service, held our luggage until check-in and happy to answer out questions. Enjoyed the free coffee and ramem. Nice onsen on the top floor along with free washing machines (paid dryers). We walked from Tokyo station. Shuttle buses available in the mornings to drop you off at Tokyo Station. Overall a great stay and would stay again if we wanted a base in this side of Tokyo.

We stayed here for five nights. As we entered our room, we were provided a welcome cake. Whilst booked a double room, this room is small. It does fit one queen size bed with small side table; a desk with chair; a small TV on a narrow shelf unit. After that there’s not much walking space.
The room had a separate bathroom, with a small (but functional) shower cubicle and toilet unit. The toilet is a modern Japanese one with various functions you can press. The sink is outside in the hall space, where the wardrobe is. The wardrobe is an open area with a clothes rail and shelves, which should be enough for two people staying a few nights. Bathroom amenities such as toothbrushes and razors are picked up from reception.
They provide a kettle, a small fridge and some drip coffee as well.
The spa is on the top (10th floor) and includes an indoor and outdoor hot bath and shower facilities. They have the usual amenities, but bring your towel from your room.
The hotel is next to Kodemmacho metro station, which makes it convenient enough. It is also walking distance from Tokyo Station if you don’t have heavy luggage. Note that there is no shuttle bus to Tokyo Station, contrary to what the website says, so arrange your own way to the hotel.
They do a mixed cuisine breakfast that is not typically included in the rate so didn’t try. There are though free noodles in the evening, and there are also ice cream and yoghurt drinks available as spa refreshments.
Overall a good stay was had. The hotel is conveniently located and the small room was clean. The staff are friendly enough, if English levels were of varying standard.

Location is quiet and convenient. Train station is literally at doorstep. Was impressed with the hot bath in hotel and delicious free ramen nightly from 9.30 pm to 10.30 pm. Provides free coffee and hot chocolate at the lobby. Have free shuttle to Tokyo Station from 7 am to 10 am daily. Convenient store and supermarket next to hotel. Food outlets are nearby too. Best of all - the hot bath esp. after a tiring day.

Stayed in Dormy Inn for 12 nights for a business trip and below are what i can say to this hotel. :)
Location: it was really an advantage to us during this time - as our office is just 2 trainstops from kodemmacho (fare is 170 yen). It was mainly convenient and cost efficient for all of us.
1. hotel is literally few steps (1-2 mins walk) from the subway (kodemmacho) station.
2. There are a lot of convenience stores nearby (7-11, Family mart, lawson).
3. There are also restaurants nearby (pizza place, beef yakiniku place, etc).
4. there are small groceries nearby (like less than 100 steps)
5. there are drugstores nearby.
6. from / to airport - need to take 2 trains (~45mins). One is Skytrain (from airport) + the normal subway train.
Value for money: Not bad for the price, since there were 4 of us staying for the same duration, hotel gave us free upgrade of the room for the other colleagues of mine. for 12 nights (corporate rate) - it was around 175K yen total.
Room: very clean. for the size, it is my first time in Japan, so i was really surprised to see the room size. it is small / compact compared to the ones we have stayed before. 1. CR - very clean, water was with high pressure;
2. TOILET - was classic for the japan, the one with all the functionalities.
3. NO MINI TOILETTRIEs provided though. theirs are big bottles where they just refill everyday.
4. There is a sink outside the CR - which was helpful as this is where i do my morning and evening routine (toothbrush, was face, etc).
5. There is small ref below the sink, just enough for a couple of bottled water and some food - which is not very cold in my opinion.
6. Aircon was great, new and cold
7. Bed was very comfortable. Sheets are made of thick cotton fabrics.
8. there is a nightlight and power outlets beside the bed - very useful for me.
9. TV - sucks. there is only 1 english channel; CNN. There is USB port, but my USB cannot load. There are movies offered by the hotel, but youd have to pay extra (1K yen a day) just to watch these movies.
10. Appreciate that there are "hotel clothes" provided - 3/4 top + pajama that you can use within the hotel vicinity.
11. Iron can be borrowed from the concierge
12. Hair blowdryer was nice - i think this is the expensive dryers (around 20K yen).
HOTEL itself:
1. there are vendor machines which are very helpful (for drinks)
2. there is an ONZEN - really clean and nice
3. there are massage chairs (that you'd have to insert coins)
4. there are washing machines (that you'd have to insert coins)
5. theres a free soba from 9-11 PM every night, which was GOOD for a snacks. It's not that heavy for it to be called a dinner.
6. hotel staff: very friendly, also not all can understand English. Recommend to have a cellphone with data so you can show them in pictures what you need.
7. hotel in general is very clean.
8. WIFI. sucks. VERY INTERMITTENT. Cannot even have solid 5 mins of video conferencing.
Overall - Dormy Inn is not bad. I cannot however say if it is excellent or above average as this is my first time in Japan. Compared to the other hotels that i stayed at (not in Japan) - id say the room is really small. If i go back to Japan, will i stay again at dormy inn? Probably yes. But maybe - id try other hotels in the meantime to experience and get to understand the norms here in japan. :)
If you are after the convenience (closer to subway) and cleanliness - then this will be OK for you.

We visited this hotel at the start of our trip from May 14th till 19th.
The hotel has a front door which opens during the night with the same keycard as the one from your room. So there is technically no restrictions to leave or enter the hotel as soon as you have checked in and received your room keycard.
There is free coffee and tea in the lobby, which is really decent. The hotel staff mostly spoke some or decent English and even those who didn't had some semblance of what was being said in English by guests. They were definitely most helpful.
The rooms we above average for Tokyo hotel-rooms i have previously stayed in. I would say a 4/5. Decent beds, nice bathroom, lots of included amenities.
However only 1 towel, per person, per day. So if you wanted to shower and go to the hotel Spa on the same day, you would be drying yourself with the same already wet towel.
The spa is quite small, however it is decent. There is a cold tub to cool down. 1 indoor and 1 outdoor bath and a sauna. They also provide shaving cream in the spa, so if you want to wash and shave, that is totally possible. There is a no-tattoo's policy in the spa, but its clearly not being enforced. there were multiple guests visiting the spa whilst covered in tattoos.
As for location, the hotel is almost literally next to the Kodemmacho Subway Station. Theres a 7-Eleven in between and thats like a 20 meter walk. Its very accessible from the subway. As for nearby restaurants, there are loads in the area.
The 1500 JPY Breakfast was amaze-balls. I've seldom had such a good breakfast. There were daily variations in certain meal types. It was always fresh. It was well stocked and the restaurant manager was a very nice person. Which definitely contributed to a good start of every day there.
I can definitely and wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone!

largish room for Tokyo. The sink and toilet area are separate. Has a safe and laundry facilities and the onsen is great with an indoor and outdoor baths. Not enough electrical plugs. Beds are hard and the pillows harder but that’s typical Japanese hotel. The beds were huge considering they were supposed to be twins. A little ways from Tokyo station but still very nice. Clean.

The best part of the Dormy Inn was definitely the onsen. It’s very modern and clean with 3 baths and one sauna. We loved using it after long days walking around Tokyo. The room was clean but tiny and very beige blah. The area was a bit the same - rather bland and lifeless. It was very close to the subway which was handy. The staff spoke next to zero English and were quite cold. Don’t think we would chose this hotel again - perhaps another Dormy but in a more interesting area.

I absolutely loved our time at this hotel, the room was small (typical for Japan and Tokyo in particular) but had all the essentials we needed and felt very cozy. I really appreciated the blackout curtains as we recovered from jetlag and found it easy to nap here. The district was surprisingly quiet and friendly, with many cozy restaurants, pharmacies, convenience stores, etc. nearby. I loved this onsen the most out of all the hotels I stayed at while in Japan, it's small but beautiful and I loved the open air bath best of all. Everything you could possibly need for grooming was included in the onsen which made for much easier packing while we were in Japan since we did not need shampoo, etc. since it was provided. I thought all the products were very high quality. I'm sad that we didn't try the breakfast or free ramen while we were here, we were always stuffed from other places before coming back. The shuttle to Tokyo station was helpful and it's only a few steps away from the Hibaya line which was super convenient. There's a 7-11, CoCo Curry, and FamilyMart all on the same block which was great. The staff was very helpful and even helped me transfer my luggage to a different hotel. I can't say enough how much I loved this hotel and would definitely stay at another Dormy Inn in the future. My one complaint was the pillows were rather small/thin and we were only given one each.

Hi sorry I am not sure
What they refer to as a twin bed in a double room is a double room in American standards.
thekayatoasttravellers asked a question Nov 2018
Singapore, Singapore144 contributions38 helpful votesHi, what are the onsen hours? We will arrive early, way before the check in time of 3pm. Was hoping to be able to use the onsen to freshen up when we check in around 10am/1030am.
Is it possible to put large luggage on the shuttle bus to Tokyo station?
You need to ask concierge for access to onsen before check-in. Airport Limo to Hotels usually allow only standard size luggage. As such, not advisable to bring Super XL odd sized luggage fir travel.
Ask hotel concierge to see if they can arrange for your luggage to be couriered to Narita Airport. Otherwise, check with Taq-Bin Courier Service.
