The Maldron Hotel Merrion Road garners compliments for its spotless rooms and convenient location near transport links like the DART and Air Coach. However, guests have called out the lack of warmth in the hotel's atmosphere and noted the rooms' small size and insufficient storage.
While the hotel's service receives positive remarks for staff friendliness, the value proposition is a point of contention, with criticisms of overpriced parking and breakfast. Additionally, the amenities, including the bar and breakfast options, don't quite meet the expectations of some travelers.

Detailed Reviews
I was tired from a long ride and needed a Dublin hotel for three nights. Then searching on the internet I saw an fantastic offer for "the Marrion", a highly rated luxury hotel near the center, at about 30% of the normal rate. So without hesitation click click click, and it was booked on the site of holels com. Bunch of swindlers: when I looked closer after getting my confirmation, it urned out that showing the information and pictures of "The Marrion" they had offered the Maldron hotel Marrion Road, a brand new business hotel in Boostertown, the south outskirts of towm. It had opened two days before
Was it a bad choice? No, for Dublin circomstnces it was very reasonable. Everything functioned, was efficient, was new, smelled new (we had to remove the protective cellophane from the plug of the water cooker, so I suppose we were the first guests of room 108), and even the personnel was freshly hired and instructed according to the numerous times we were friendly asked if everything was fine. The barrier of the parking garage was not yet tuned so we enjoyed free parking The breakfast buffet was more than sufficient, we only wished that the guys of holels.com would have let us know that it was included, then we certainly would have savored it more than once
All in all, this hotel with its bus stop practically in front is a good choice, good value for money as a business person would say for whom this place is more appropriate. Nevertheless it was a scam and of course I didn't get any responce whatsoever from hotels.com on the mail I sent them. Ergo, later I saw that they were still offering this Maldron hotel under the Marrion...

We (about forty bikers from all regions of France) toured Ireland over two weeks and ended our journey at the Maldron Hotel in Dublin for three nights with half board.
The very friendly welcome from GM Gérard immediately reassured us about the availability of the young and dedicated staff.
What an experience to inaugurate a brand new **** hotel! The comfort of the rooms (impeccable bedding) and the bathrooms (very functional shower) contributed to our rapid recovery.
The bus stations ideally placed in front of the hotel allowed us to visit the center of Dublin very easily by abandoning our motorcycles for a day.
The dining room – during group events – could deserve better soundproofing.
All the participants really appreciated the quality of the cuisine and the presentation on the plates. The variety of dishes on successive menus was noticed.
The bar was an essential meeting place at the end of the day, allowing everyone to relax.
Finally, we had the chance and the joy of spending an evening with “The Rose of Tralee” also hosted in the establishment and sharing an unforgettable convivial moment which will remain one of the highlights of our trip.
Merci XXL au Maldron Hôtel Merrion Road de Dublin.

I had to book a hotel last minute due to business commitments and the Maldron on Merion Road were so accommodating and had my room booked within minutes over the phone.
On my arrival, Caroline at reception was more than helpful and kindly upgraded me to an exceptionally clean room on the 5th floor with a view of the sea.
Any staff I encountered were friendly and attentive and the hotel itself was clean and modern
The bed was very comfortable also which is very important for me in hotels
Will definitely be staying again and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an affordable and comfortable spot to stay right on the edge of the city.
Highly impressed

I hate to write a negative review, but we found the dining experience at this newly built Maldron hotel very disappointing. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, the food was tasty and well presented - though the food menu and non-alcoholic drinks were very limited. The big disappointment was the failure of the architects to make available to guests the exceptional views of Dublin Bay, looking across at Howth Head, viewing the ships departing for and arriving from Britain and France. There was ample opportunity for this at first floor level and above. Instead, the dining room felt like being in a basement, most of the tables in the bar area are like sitting along a wide window-less corridor. If people are visiting Dublin for a business meeting, then the Maldron have other hotels in the city centre or at the airport. But in the suburbs, especially a seafront location, the dining room could offer a much more enjoyable experience.

This is a lovely hotel, food is very good, staff excellent, price average for Dublin. When you enter your room there’s a beautiful fresh smell which is unusual in most hotels. The only downside here is overnight parking@13 euro is excessive in my opinion

We stayed for 3 nights but the room was much too small for a longer stay. The wardrobe was also much too small; we had to leave our clothes in the suitcases (we travel with cabin luggage style suitcases). There was no desk in our room to work on. This is a brand new hotel (it opened in 1922) but the insulation around our window in our fifth floor room 517 was damaged already and the noise from the busy Merrion Road was audible all night. The bathroom was of a good size and spacious. Breakfast was adequate but totally overpriced - as was our room. The underground garage felt scary and very narrow. (Filmmakers - take note for your next thriller!) We paid 770 Euros for three nights without breakfast and that was much too expensive for what we got. The location is okay, the Dart is just five minutes walk away and busses and the Air Coach stop in front of the hotel. We had very poor weather but unfortunately the hotel doesn’t have a nice lounge we could relax in; the next pubs are quite a walking distance away. We normally stay in hotels like Haddington House or Clayton Burlington Road where you have more spaces to relax and to unwind.
Housekeeping was poor and the room was not cleaned properly.
Maldron Merrion Road feels like a rip off place modern style. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are much too small for people who want to stay longer and they are much too small to work in with no work desk.

We stayed in the Maldron Hotel Merrion Road as a base for the Dublin marathon. This is the first time we stayed in this beautiful hotel and we will definitely be back. The staff were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about the Dublin marathon and were able to advise us on travelling to the start line on Sunday morning. We had initially tried to book a taxi but the staff advised us that rather than waiting we would be better going by train. The DART was only a five minute walk from our hotel and took us directly to Pearse Street Station. The reception staff kindly let us keep our room for an extra few hours so that we could get showered before heading home. We are very grateful to them for accommodating us and this made our marathon in Dublin a very enjoyable and memorable experience. Thank you Girish and Chloe you are exceptional people and we are lucky to have chosen your hotel for our stay. We would highly recommend the Maldron Hotel to our family and friends and of course our running club family. Well done and thank you again for your support and kindness. Michelle, Brian and Elaine xo

Stayed 2 nights to meet a cousin I hadn’t seen for 40 years. We had a great stay, made more special by the fabulous hotel. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and the hotel is in a great location, super view of the sea. The location is perfect for a stroll on the beach and only minutes from a Dart station to the city centre. The breakfast and dinner were delicious, a breakfast buffet that served hot, fresh food. Fab. Best of all was the staff, every single one of them was helpful, efficient, courteous and cheerful. I’d definitely stay again.

Booked one night including breakfast.
On check in the trainee graduate confirmed no king size rooms available but happy to book me a room with a view as a gesture
Unfortunately found the room too.noisy from traffic & there was red wine stains on the curtains, not a great 1st impression.
I must compliment lady on reception, who within literally 5 mins re- located me to room 207, at the rear of hotel.
Room was perfect other than I was unable to adjust the air conditioning which was a little loud.
Breakfast was good - ordered 2 poached eggs took 20 mins but was nice & runny.

From Check In To Check Out, 13 Nights it was wonderful. Raluca Was my Favorite And By Far The Most Lovely and Professional. Taking Care Of The Night Time Meals, Amazing Food. She is an Asset To The Maldron Hotel Food and Beverage Staff. Caroline From Reception was also amazing when it came to questions fitting us into a room when our flight arrived early. The rooms in the hotel are new and very modern. Nearby food delivery 24/7 Uber/Taxi 24/7 Grab a room that faces the Bay. Beautiful Sunrises. Attractions, Tours, Trains only a hop skip away. When I return to visit again I will definitely be staying here.
