A fabulous little hotel of only 6 "suites", miles from any major city but surrounded in history and friendliness. Had a room on the top floor, all of them named after flowers and only 2 rooms to a floor. Good sized rooms and have all the amenities you usually only get in the top hotels (shoe sponge, sewing kit, etc). Only down sides were the fact that the room walls adjoining bathrooms were so thin, you could hear everything and the parking was difficult (you have to squeeze between sets of trees, so don't rent a land rover to get there!) Breakfast was limited but enough of everything and he'd cook scrambled eggs for you. Dinner in the restaurant was fabulous though if a little on the expensive side. However if 2 of you have the same meal it's significantly cheaper (€38 each for 3 courses). Good wine menu and in the prettiest location you could imagine. (So pretty they regularly have photo shoots there as when we arrived and there was a photography crew and a couple of models and shiny new motorbikes). Good base for visiting the motor museums around there as both Ferrari museums, Lamborghini, Maserati, Pagani are all within an hours drive. Also just around the corner (literally 1min walk is a fabulous balsamic vinegar manufacturer and shop that lets you try the different vinegars and glazes. All staff are lovely. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again
We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at this peaceful, intimate, well-run Inn. We were warmly greeted & felt very welcome. Our suite was traditionally furnished but not cluttered, with everything functioning well including the bathroom. The village is small but with a good variety of restaurants, however we opted to eat dinner at the hotel. The menu is not large, but with beautifully prepared regional dishes & an excellent wine list. Breakfast was perfect with an amazing selection of cakes, fresh fruit, made to order eggs, and beverages of choice. Easy, free parking just a few meters away.We highly recommend this hotel for a stay in the Modena region.
My wife and I spent an extremely pleasant week here in September and found the small hotel to be perfect in every way. The location was superb being in the centre of a very picturesque walled town perched on the top of a hill affording great views of the surrounding countryside. The two brothers Andrea and Roberto, who run the hotel, were excellent hosts in every way. Andrea was always on hand to provide local knowledge to enhance your stay while Roberto was an exceptionally fine chef producing fantastic local cuisine. Andrea, who is a trained sommelier, was equally adept in recommending accompanying local wines. The room was very spacious and clean and all of the staff particularly attentive in responding to our every need. The buffet style breakfast was also excellent with eggs cooked to order.
Very small hotel with elegant and comfortable room in a typical and very nice village. The hotel is located in the old part of the village, in a pedestrian only area and has nice and comfortable suites. The manager and team are extremely friendly and nice and the cooking is delicate as well as local. Breakfast is delicious and dinner "à la carte" was also very good. One small remark for the dinner is that the quantities were a bit small: so big guys might still be a little hungry after their meal ! Also as it is in the old part of the village, the rooms are a little dark and do not expect a swimming pool in front of the hotel. All in all a charming place
