Detailed Reviews
My fiancé and I stayed here for 3 nights and loved every bit of this beautiful hotel. We booked a king, balcony room and had the most gorgeous room and view. The hotel was immaculate and beautifully decorated. The yoga room is simply stunning and we loved getting to do yoga in such a beautiful space. They provide all the yoga mats and props you could need and they are high quality as well. After traveling in busy cities, Terrakotta was a peaceful escape.
We ordered room service multiple times and really enjoyed everything we tried. I am vegan and the menu is incredibly vegan friendly. It was so refreshing to have so many vegan options. The tofu satay with peanut sauce was excellent as well as the Thali, just make sure to pre order the thali at least two hours before to give them adequate time to prepare.
We loved being able to walk to everything Rishikesh had to offer but still be off the beaten path for some peace and quiet.
The staff is so kind and welcoming. They welcomed us with a welcome drink, I turned it down because it was milky and I’m vegan and the guy immediately brought me a dairy-free alternative.
On the last day there was a miscommunication with the front desk staff about our transportation. We had said we already had a car coming but they thought we needed one so they ordered one for us. When it was time to leave, we had two cars waiting for us & we all realized the misunderstanding. The guy at the front desk cancelled the one he ordered and said he had charged us for the driver when we checked out and handed us an envelope with the refund. We didn’t even realize and it was so kind of him to make sure we got our money back for the unneeded driver.
If we ever make it back to Rishikesh one day, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay At Terrakotta again. Beautiful hotel, kind people, & delicious, vegan-friendly food.

a) The hotel was newly opened because of this we did not have to worry about maintenance. The place was quite neat.
b) We savored every last morsel of our buffet breakfast.
c) Room size was decent and the hotel staff were courteous
d) It might get difficult to locate the hotel as it is situated inside a narrow lane. One has to walk for about a minute to reach it from the main road
e) At about 550 metres from the hotel, an agency, Red Chilli Adventure is located with whom one can plan their rafting of 16km/26km/35kms. They are one of the best in the town as many of the roadside agencies are phony.
f) You should also visit The Secret Waterfall and you just cannot miss eating at the Little Buddha Café (Vegetarian only).

Clean, modern, and located in the perfect place to explore Tapovan Rishikesh. Turn left to head to the Ganges with a 5-minute walk or right up the narrow path to the main road. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good. Rooms are cleaned every day to a high standard and free bottled mineral water every day. Shower always hot

Stayed in Jan 2024 with family.
The hotel is located in a narrow lane in Tapovan, near the Laxman Jhula. It’s a tiny boutique hotel. The hotel was in contact prior to arrival to explain the issues with the location (narrow entrance) but we didn’t have any issues. Bu the prior heads-up was appreciated.
I had booked the Standard Twin Room, as I needed 2 separate beds. The reception staff told me that they had upgraded me to a Deluxe Room but I couldn’t move there due to need for 2 beds. All the Tein Bed rooms are Standard and small/basic from what I could understand.
In retrospect, that was probably a bad decision. We were in Room 101, and I must say it was a poor experience. The room is compact but that is not an issue…in fact it is well setup and uses space well.
The main issues with the room are things the hotel should be cognizant of…Room 101 is very loud, as it is half a flight of stairs above the reception, so one can hear all interactions that the reception staff have. The curtains are not thick and light comes in all night even thru closed blinds, this is especially a problem with Room 101 as the hotel entrance is right below the room and they have a bright spotlight on all night. And lastly and worst of all there is no separate shower area in the compact bathroom and the water goes everywhere even when you close the shower curtain, creating a total wet mess. There were some other problems with an inefficient aircon as well, but not a major issue as it worked after some time.
I think the experience would’ve been much better with a different room but I can only comment on the room that we had. My friend was staying in a Deluxe King Room on the 3rd floor and didn’t experience any issues.
The attached restaurant is decent…food was of good quality and we enjoyed a dinner, as well as breakfast there. Both were good and I would visit this restaurant again.
WiFi worked decently as well. Staff is also helpful and polite.
I think the hotel should make a better effort with the Twin Bed rooms, as the other rooms seem fine. Overall, I wouldn’t stay in Room 101, but other rooms may be fine.

Hotel staff were attentive and helpful including the Monsoon restaurant staff. Food was tasty and presentation was excellent! They did an excellent job with helping us celebrate my son’s birthday with a cake and let me pick his favorite food for the buffet. Breakfast and dinner buffet were included which made it much easier for us to gradually acclimate and a safe food option. They accommodated early check in after our long flight, which really helped with jet lagging! Hotel is close to lakshman Jhula water taxi and some shopping and restaurants. Front desk staff helped us find auto (fits 4-6) around town and taxi to Dehradun airport. Room was comfortable but shower was Luke warm. 3rd floor has the view to Gamga but 1st floor room seemed to be more spacious. It was a pleasant stay for everyone and I would do it again! :)

Everything about this hotel is high quality. It's a smaller hotel with 24 rooms sitting in the foothills of the Himalayas in a beautiful neighborhood called Tapovan. The rooms are beautiful and the soft, comfortable bedding and pillows beg you to stay in bed late however, you need to get up to indulge in one of the best breakfasts ever with a variety of food offerings from Indian to non-Indian each one more delicious than the next.
The restaurant serves lunch and dinner, and this is where we ate every day between the amazingly flavorful, Indian recipes, delicious Italian pasta, or Chinese cuisine one as good as the next. Everything falls back on the chef, who is just outstanding.
And what enhances the stay so much more at Terrakotta Rishikesh is the warmth, kindness helpfulness of the staff. I've never met such warm kind and giving people.
My wife and I highly recommend this hotel.

I travelled to Rishikesh and wanted a relaxing stay with a luxury feel.
The whole hotel is beautiful. The rooms are always cleaned to the best standards, the bed was so comfortable, great air con and was a nice touch to be given free bottles of water every day!
The restaurant/room service was brilliant.. my favourite things on the menu being the vegetable jalfrazi, peri fries and the Sicilian spaghetti 👌🏻
Staff always friendly.

Excellent food, service, presentation, friendly staff and comfortable beautifully laid out rooms. Our stay experience in this hotel was really excellent and we would certainly tell our friends to stay here whenever in Rishikesh.
The food by chef Amit is par excellence and provides every type of healthy food as required by the modern generation : vegan, gluten free, lovely healthy smoothies etc etc.
Our stay of 3 days with the family was memorable. The approach to the hotel is not impressive through very narrow lanes. But after you are settled in - your holiday starts!
